I spent some time reading the comments of people at LP over the last couple of days and my how it has changed. As a person who spent many years posting on that site who now hardly has the time to read political forums much less post on them, the change appears stark. It's become a haven for authoritarian leftists and police state Republicans. A Free Republic clone. A far cry from the early days when it was a small government political forum. Sally has finally shown her true colors by allowing those people to take over. As an aside, I find it interesting how much LP's authoritarian leftists have in common with LP's police state Republicans. From the posts I've read they side with each other on just about everything. What gets me is how people who find themselves in agreement on a regular basis with a known Democrat/authoritarian leftist like harrowup can call themselves conservative. There is nothing conservative about their big government views.

He is a statist. As a pejorative that might make some folks angry. Actually, I find it funny coming from a 'constitutionalist' and/or 'anarchocapitalist'. Fibr Dog has a juvenile view of my FR associations.

Luckily my student loans won't be too much, at least in comparison with most other med school students. When I was laid off from my engineering position with the phone company I took a very high paying 18 month contract job as a project manager and lead network design engineer for the government of Colombia. When I came back we sold our farm and moved. Since I already had an engineering degree, getting a cell and molecular biology degree only took two years which I paid cash for. So all I will have in student loans will be my med school. By the way, Merry Christmas.
