Opinions/Editorials Title: Why do we pay retirement pay to presidents? With all this talk of cutting the budget,WHY are we still paying a VERY generous retirement check out for a position that only requires 4 years of work at the minimum and 8 years at the maximum? Not to mention free medical care and transportation for life? After all,it ain't like these guys are going off to life a live of poverty. They all make multi-millions giving speeches, agreeing to have their names on corporate boards, etc, etc, etc. We should also DEMAND that Congresscritters and Senators retire on SS just like the rest of us,instead of receiving a VERY generous life-long pension and free medical care for life for just serving from 2 to 6 years minimum. What makes them so special they don't have to live by the very laws they vote in effect? Just putting them in the same retirement category as the rest of us would save billions. Yeah, this won't solve the budget crisis all by itself, but it would be a damn good place to start. I'm sure there are retirement tables but I've got chores to do and will depart shortly. Any idea what a president's retirement pay is after 4 years? After 8 years? I agree with you petey but I don't see anything happening to change 'their' rules.

True,Barry is going to trash the country worse than she trashed HP,and he's going to get more money out of it,too. The country was trashed before Obama was elected, and it would take decades beyond a normal life span for Obama's retirement to reach a total of $20 million. He and the Wookie probably already have more than that in off-shore accounts. Just look at Bubba Bill/Bush 2.0. He now has a estimated net worth of over 100 million bucks, and that's just the legal money he has to declare. Not bad for a Arkansas Grifter, huh? You are the dummy because I specifically stated they didn't need a pension because of all the money they accumulate after leaving office, and I did this in the post that started this thread.
