Complaint Says Jesse Jackson Sexual Harassed Gay Former Employee A gay former employee of Rev. Jesse Jackson’s Rainbow Push Coalition, claims he was sexually harassed by the Jackson, forced to clean up after Jackson’s sexual escapades with women in hotel rooms. Tommy R. Bennett, sued the Rainbow Push Coalition and Jesse Jackson Sr. in Cook County Court, alleging that the discrimination against him began “almost immediately” after he was hired, because of his sexual orientation. Bennett worked for Rainbow Push and Jackson from July 2007-December 2009, beginning as National Director of Community Affairs and later as Jackson’s personal travel assistant, according to the complaint. In the 10-page complaint, Bennett says he was “subjected to humiliating tasks” and was made to “escort women to his room after work hours and clean up his room after sexual intercourse with women.” “It was well known Ms. Holder was a mistress of Rev. Jackson,” says the complaint. “As Rev. Jackson’s travel assistant, Mr. Bennett had been to Ms. Holder’s apartment with Rev. Jackson and was told to wait in the car while he went into her apartment. On several occasions, Mr. Bennett was instructed by Rev. Jackson to escort Ms. Holder to Rev. Jackson’s hotel room at the Hilton at Chicago O’Hare airport.” Late in 2008, Bennett says, he was accused “by the Chairman of the Board, Martin King, of faxing a letter to the Jackson family from Kinkos at 2 a.m. informing them of the affair between Rev. Jackson and Ms. Holder,” however “[a]fter Rainbow Push did a thorough investigation of the letter, they found out that the letter came from Judge Vanessa Hobson, who was another mistress of Rev. Jackson.” Bennett also alleged that Jackson called him to his room multiple times while dressed in his underwear. During one such call, “Rev. Jackson was wearing white brief underwear and instructed Mr. Bennett to apply the cream [for a rash] on his inner thigh.” Bennett refused this request and Jackson got irate and called him a “little motherf__ker.” Bennett gave other instances in which he claimed Jackson invited him to perform oral sex. Jackson was ordained a Baptist minister in 1968 even though he did not have a theological degree. In 1990, Chicago Theological Seminary awarded him an honorary theological degree, and also awarded Jackson a Master of Divinity. Written by: Editorial Staff on September 25, 2011. #3. To: war (#1) *YAWN* True, sexual harassment is to be expected when there is a prominent Dim involved. "Independents" like you only get upset when it is a white male Republican being accused.
#4. To: sneakypete (#3) Nope. Why in the fuck should I care about Jesse Jackson? He means nothing to my life.
