Cain has raised a million dollars in the last two days. His poll numbers aren't dropping. The story has shifted to the leaker's Perry campaign connections. To date no one has even described the behavior that supposedly made these women 'uncomfortable'. If anything the story has helped Cain at the expense of his opponents.

Democrats4Cain have really pumped up the contributions lately.
First off, anyone claiming that this hasn't hurt in the polls is challenged by reality. It takes 3-4 days to gather data on a specific point and another day to compile it. There is no current poll which will measure any impact or lack of it to this point. Secondly, if the Cain campaign believed that this issue was "over" they a) wouldn't be pointing fingers and b) their candidate wouldn't be talking about it. The genesis of this issue is, to this point, a matter of the women trying to get a "waiver" to come forward with their story. At some point, Cain is going to answer directly to them... There is no such thing as a 7 day political scandal. That Bird does no exist.

Secondly, if the Cain campaign believed that this issue was "over" they a) wouldn't be pointing fingers and b) their candidate wouldn't be talking about it. I just love to see the expressed fantasies of avid GOP supporters, although I do respect TBird's opinion on certain other matters. And to a poster they will say they aren't Republican, as they pull the lever for GOP candidates. Today seems to be their big wishin' and a hopin' day.

Lol! Get a grip..these women want nothing to do with 'recounting' their story for the national media. The story broke Sunday night so there is plenty of data to show how voters are feeling via the polls. The time for you to put up or shut up is fast approaching.
This is less about whose side you're on politically and more about your ability to acccurately perceive and assesss whats happening politically. The folks who think that Cain is finished are the one's 'hoping and wishing', not the other way around.

No, actually it is stone thinking people are too stupid to see how he operates. I am being fair, I am not picking on those he manipulates to do his dirty-work, I'm going to much the problem's source. but I appreciate your objectivity in telling me how it looks. Because I need to not be as bad as he operates in reverse in any way. As for Herman Cain, good for him he has his own opinions and is a conservative Republican. Nobody wins when people are just lock steep ideologically. I actually know conservative gays and lesbians locally, one of whom is a police leader and could very well be chief here someday. Diversity of ideology, it is needed to have a healthy Republic and have it's government be robust and healthy.
Good point. My mother and I had a decades long war on this point. She always screamed she didn't help me get a college education not to ensconce myself in the business world and become a capital hunting land shark. I maintained thee point of education and intelligence is lost unless it works hand and hand with common sense. I could never live that way. I had a six digit inheritance a couple decades back and I donated it to the fight to stop whaling and the game in japan of killing dolphins. She didn't speak to me for years and the relationship was never anything but poison after that. I also won't wear a suit if my life depended on it, or a wedding or funeral nessesitates such an odious protocol. I also still have my Class A uniform and would wear that for certain veteran function. But I will die a long hair, and would die before I was cursed with too much money. The thought of having that is alien to me.

It has been leaked that one of them was paid $35,000 to end the suit,which is basically "just shut up and go away because it is cheaper to pay you this than it is to go to court" money. If she had had a real case instead of a "he said/she said" case she would have gotten a lot more money out of it. What's going to hurt Cain isn't some bogus claim. What's going to hurt him is him continually changing the story about it. This means he HAD to have been lying at one point or another. With politics it seems like it's always the coverup that kills the career,not the actual charges. After all,if he will lie about something that simple,it's obvious he will lie about important things.

I do,too. They are more in the closet about their political views than they are their sexual orientation because the left really hammers them as "traitors" unless they vote Dim. i think most people on the right have dismissed this story as the smear it obviously was. There are a contingent of supporters of Anita Perry's husband who are still pushing it but they are a shrill minority at this point. Unless there is a little baby Herman we don't know about I'd say this 'scandal' has run its course, at least in the minds of Republican primary voters.
Kind of reminds me of the campaign to smear our ex governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, when he was running for office. Oh, wait, the truth turned out to be worse than anyone imagined at the time.
