Cain appears to have weathered the storm. Perry's been 'done' for almost 3 weeks. Its laughable anyone tries to compare his implosion to McCain, given there is nothing remotely similiar about the two other than both were in 4th place at one point in a primary race.
mcCain didn't blow 22 points in all the polls in 21 days. McCain was never the 'front runner' from the moment he entered the race.
A more accurate comparision would be Thompson or Guiliani in 08.
Cain has raised a million dollars in the last two days. His poll numbers aren't dropping. The story has shifted to the leaker's Perry campaign connections.
To date no one has even described the behavior that supposedly made these women 'uncomfortable'.
If anything the story has helped Cain at the expense of his opponents.

First off, anyone claiming that this hasn't hurt in the polls is challenged by reality. It takes 3-4 days to gather data on a specific point and another day to compile it. There is no current poll which will measure any impact or lack of it to this point.
Secondly, if the Cain campaign believed that this issue was "over" they a) wouldn't be pointing fingers and b) their candidate wouldn't be talking about it.
The genesis of this issue is, to this point, a matter of the women trying to get a "waiver" to come forward with their story. At some point, Cain is going to answer directly to them...

I just love to see the expressed fantasies of avid GOP supporters, although I do respect TBird's opinion on certain other matters.
And to a poster they will say they aren't Republican, as they pull the lever for GOP candidates.

This is less about whose side you're on politically and more about your ability to acccurately perceive and assesss whats happening politically.
The folks who think that Cain is finished are the one's 'hoping and wishing', not the other way around.
Since most of us aren't privy to the smokey back rooms, we'll just have to use history as a guide. He'll be shredded during the campaign, and then the GOP will try another Palin maneuver.
