Opinions/Editorials Title: Godwinson Resigns The American right wing as presented here has degenerated into a KKK party in all but name. This website continues to post pro-racist images despite requests to the moderator to remove them and since I visit this website in mixed company, I can't continue posting on here - even if it is to show how wrong you kooks on the right are. I don't even think this web forum is worth hacking in retaliation, either. Just the same handful of pathetic conserva-kooks that can be pointed to and laughed at. You are not a threat, conserva-kooks, you are a joke. All you talk about "2nd amendment solutions" and waving the Gadsden flags does not make you scary, but points out how impotent and all talk and hot air you are. Resignation effective now. #23. To: A K A Stone (#1) "Like the ones with Bush as a monkey?" Ban both. Do two wrongs make a right? He's right you know. And there are individuals that are not communicating anything but the desire to try to bully, with no one taking them to task for it. Others lurking can see this, and it is a factor that keeps lurkers from becoming posters. It doesn't get to me as I studied PTSD and it taught me that the normal respnse to bullying is to try to get the bully to realize their browbeating is wrong and to try to rationalize the behavior away. The reality is they don't want to and won't unless firm, consistent and goal oriented moderation forces them to move it along from the empty calories of the constant personal attack into the mode of the give and take of lively discussion and debate. Godwinson is a good man, hw has smarts, humor and compassion. He's even a Christian which you value highly. I wish him luck where ever he goes. I myself have sometimes been too hard on him in his other nickname, but I have grown to like him. IT all boils down to what do you want for your forum. Having conservatives around does not bother him not myself, but none of Mad Dog's posts have much content to them, and Eric often focuses on trying to drive folks away with invective and cruel verbiage. HQ and Gnu are notoriously racist, which even hurts the focus you have of drawing more conservatives. No one who really like Mr. Cain for example is going to like President Obama's race being a main focus of the attacks against him, because the buckshot from such verbal volley hit them and draw their anger and disgust too. You know as well as I do that Obama can be sniped at without using the race card. Because if you can't, then their obviously is not enough ammunition to convince people to deny him a second term. As the election season evolves, I too see myself spending more time in forums where the heat inevitably rising in such a time is kept by good moderation on target and away from pointless attacks on someone's skin color, or is stalled on false charges about where someone was born or what their religion actually is despite facts that show this not to be the case. Godwinson has a good point to his courtesy here of trying to do a parting communication with what is not working here and stunting your forum's growth. LP is spinning out of control in increasing degree, and you could easily pick up a butt load of new posters. That forum I told you about is by a well loved FReeper who used to run a ping list that was the main forum focus during stories like the Klamath Oregon water rights fight that was in national news. She sees what is going on and is positioning herself to exploit exactly that; to over a safe and productive haven to incubate and grow conservative thought, culture and discussion. You could easily beat her having software that people prefer because of familiarity. But in the end, they will get used to her interface if the culture of her forum is safe and hassle free. That is my take on it for you to take or leave. I have more than fifteen years of experience in political forums seeing what works and doesn't. And it's not given to hurt your goals to get more conservatives here than liberals or anything else you want. And I know people who are conservative have privately and publicly offered you good advice that has elements in it of what I say here is the problem. Take or leave my advice and observations, I never consider it to be my job to make people do what they don't want to do. I have my faults and foibles too; but I always work to listen to what others say in a fair debate, and to effectively communicate what I have to say in return.

My thoughts are standard way conservatives in most of the civilized Christian world think (outside of the USA and maybe UK). It's unique maybe to Americans but that is sad if that is the case. I said it a million times, my thinking is framed by European style Christian Democratic/Social Market ideology which is the dominant conservative ideology both in terms of party membership and geographic spread around the world. Americans really don't understand how batshit crazy the American right sounds to the world. Sarkozy of France, a conservative, was puzzled as to why people were calling Obama a "nazi/commie/socialist" for pushing a health care reform that is standard practice around the world. In fact universal health care and the social safety net is a right wing invention, initiated by Germany's Iron Chancellor, Otto Von Bismarck as an antidote to fight socialists and communists.
