The atheists aren't the only ones making a stink about the goings-on at Ground Zero; the former Deputy Mayor under Rudy Giuliani is lambasting Mayor Bloomberg for excluding religion from the upcoming 10th anniversary ceremony at the World Trade Center. "This is America, and to have a memorial service where there's no prayer, this appears to be insanity to me," Rudy Washington tells the Wall Street Journal. "I feel like America has lost its way." Bloomberg has never let spiritual leaders hold prayers or sermonize at any of the annual 9/11 gatherings, but Washington, who organized an interfaith ceremony at Yankee Stadium after the attack in 2001, says he's "very upset" Bloomberg isn't making an exception this year (it being the diamond anniversary and all). And Washington's not the only God-fearing fulminator: City Council Member Fernando Cabrera, a pastor at New Life Outreach International in the Bronx, says he's just plain "shocked" the clergy isn't on the list. To be fair, it is quite an exclusive event this year; even Chris Christie had to practically beg to get a plus-one. "There are hundreds of important people that have offered to participate over the last nine years, but the focus remains on the families of the thousands who died on Sept. 11," Evelyn Erskine, a mayoral spokeswoman, tells the Journal. That's a very diplomatic statement, but we all know the real reason is the mayor doesn't want the headache of another atheist lawsuit.

First, I don't worship any man. But, more than that, these Christian evangelicals are attempting to ensure US taxpayers continue to pay for the safety and assurance of Israel. In fact, more than ever, I am sure of it and I might add ANYONE associated with the TEA Party. For years, I have seen through their make-believe world of a strong national defense while diminishing America's own internal capabilities. And look at us today: the TEA Party says little about US national involvement around the world as we peddle bullets and soldiers to anyone that needs US help. Meanwhile, Beck is in Israel ensuring a "voice of reason" about the Christian principles to defend Jerusalem against enemies. He is begging for a war. Palin is almost on the same page as Beck, BTW. And don't forget her religious groupies in the TEA Party.

I think Beck is as ugly as HELL. Over a year and half ago, she didn't even have to that: that every time Palin opens her mouth she marginalizes herself. She went to the National TEA Party convention in March of 2010 with her I love Israel FIRST! lapel pin prominently displayed as she spoke to hundreds in the audience, some paying thousands of dollars just to attend. What kind of REAL American needs that stuff? I want an American who boldly says I LOVE AMERICA FIRST! but that is too much to ask for anymore. All we get are cheap sell-outs cloaking political power in religious dogma and zealousness.

Well- assuming you are a hetrosexual male- of course you think he is ugly! That would be logical. Truth it is rare to find a truly handsome man. Glenn Beck really is a handsome guy. I completely support Israel. I am not at all surprised or offended that Glen Beck does as well. I would absolutely love to see this part of the world have a peaceful resolution, FWIW. I hope they can settle their differences without one drop of blood shed. As far as evangelizing that part of the world- I, personally believe that is a very good idea. I have already said that I believe that everyone needs a little more Jesus. Even I need a little more Jesus. FWIW_ Netty is a good man, but he is NOT a follower of Christ (yet)- so it is illogical to place this stuff at the feet of Jesus. Jesus Christ is not even in that area of the world in leadership!! As far as Glenn goes- as I said, if you do not worship him, why does it matter what he says and who his mentors are? Why does he have this power over your thoughts? You are attracted to him so strongly that you can not let him exist without your knowledge of his ideas?

Well, you would have to famialiarize yourself with the Bible and ministory of Jesus to understand. That is really all I can offer about your confusion. You, too, can go online and read and go to friends, family and clergy and ask your questions. I will give you this tho, it is almost impossible to understand the lessons of the Bible, unless you are a believer. Buck can not be my brother in Christ, if he has not accepted Christ. I am not judging his heart. I am stating a fact. AND as I said, the explanation to my response is in 2Timothy. Considering that buck has condemned my thoughts and posts on the idea of condemning organized religion in favor of Jesus , I would say that he he doesn't understand the difference between Jesus Christ and organized religion. That would be sort of logical. Jesus never told his follower to throw logic out the window. In fact he told us to be wise, to discern the origins of spirits, and to rebuke those who needed to be rebuked. :) It is in the Bible. Go and read it.

Hmm.. I am confident that you have no understanding of the Bible. Just another person who is held captive. Owned by the thoughts of other people. Christians, those who truley understand what GOD expects of us, who act as if they are better than everyone else are certainly not living by the creeds of Christianity, and may not even be Christians at all, you really should be doing some soul searching yourself, you are just as lost as any sinner by your public actions, here and other areas. Christianity says that all people are sinners, and none can be righteous on the basis of their own behavior. Jesus said that we should not act like we are better than others just to get noticed. ALL of our Lord's admonitions about behavior towards "each other" refer ONLY to our behaviors towards fellow CHRISTIANS. Heathens are NOT our "brothers" or "sisters" in FAITH, in JESUS. :) Actually, no. Thanks for giving me the chance to clarify.. We are all supposed to worship God. The first commandment is have no idols, worship no one else. Please don't worship me. Worshiping God will bring you much greater gifts. And you may very well be a religious sort of *Christian*- but it is not possible that you are a Christ follower. :) I think we have been thru that before on this forum. Christ followers don't get so uncomfortable, as you do, when someone is talking about the gospels.
We are all works in progress. A good Christ follower is someone who tries to hear God and is obedient when he/she does hear- and tries to grow closer to the likeness of Jesus. None of us will ever get there,and none of us is expected to get there- but there is a methodology to follow- and as long as we are trying- we make God smile. You are as good a Christian as anyone else, MD. :) Paul tells us, in the book of Romans (8:1),that when we accept Jesus and are reborn with the spirit of God, there is no more condemnation for our sins.

I completely support Israel. I am not at all surprised or offended that Glen Beck does as well. I would absolutely love to see this part of the world have a peaceful resolution, FWIW. I hope they can settle their differences without one drop of blood shed. As far as evangelizing that part of the world- I, personally believe that is a very good idea.
I have already said that I believe that everyone needs a little more Jesus. Even I need a little more Jesus. FWIW_ Netty is a good man, but he is NOT a follower of Christ (yet)- so it is illogical to place this stuff at the feet of Jesus. Jesus Christ is not even in that area of the world in leadership!!
As far as Glenn goes- as I said, if you do not worship him, why does it matter what he says and who his mentors are?
Why does he have this power over your thoughts? You are attracted to him so strongly that you can not let him exist without your knowledge of his ideas?
