Opinions/Editorials Title: Republicans Retain Majority in Wisconsin Recall Election:Bad News for Obama and Dems as Unions Fail on All Fronts Union thugs pummeled the Wisconsin State House as the newly elected Governor and Republican majorities worked to balance the Wisconsin state budget. The unions were upset that they were being asked to accept small concessions like paying a portion of their benefits –like private business employees are asked to do –and bring the Wisconsin union’s collective bargaining in line with federal unions. When the people rose up and elected Republicans last fall, they issued a mandate to the lawmakers to fix the broken and bloated state budget. What had happened in Wisconsin and other states over the years is that the State Worker’s Unions had found that Democrats were willing to give the State Worker’s Unions huge handouts of tax dollars in exchange for the union support –and the cash that found it’s way back into the Democrats campaign funds as Union donations. The Republicans were elected to stop this corruption and protect the taxpayer’s money Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread Top • Page Up • Full Thread • Page Down • Bottom/Latest #1. #2. To: socalv8 (#1) The Democrats gained 2 seats in a recall election. Unheard of. With the economy still in the dumper -- maybe permanently? -- and full-time jobs becoming as scarce as rain during a drought, huge percentages of Americans have had their (misplaced) faith in the American dream shaken, the upper-middle-class consumerist lifestyle is exposed as a mirage for anybody who plays by the rules. Capitalism and the America that embraced it as a way of life is now and forever more a failure. It does me good to know that the generation that voted in Reagan and his ideology will see their America die from that ideology before their very own eyes and knowing they had a hand in its destruction. #3. To: smokestack (#0) And next Tuesday 16 Aug is the recall election for the 2 Democrats, if they are are defeated then Wisconsin is right back where it started..... before the Unions wasted over $15 million dollars...... that's just less money that Obozo will get next year...... LOL..... Like I have been trying to tell certain people if the Union was so great then why "Aren't" people clamouring to become Union members!!!!! When asked by a Liberal what I bought my Granddaughter for her 1st birthday I replied, "MORE AMMUNITION"!!!! -----------------------------"People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf." #4. To: smokestack (#0) So I wonder if the Union idiots still think it's a good idea to try and recall Scott Walker now???? When asked by a Liberal what I bought my Granddaughter for her 1st birthday I replied, "MORE AMMUNITION"!!!! -----------------------------"People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf." #5.
