I can't speak for Stone. I want to ensure you have my opinion, however.
Most of these political chit-chat websites that broadcast about a distinct advantage of freedom and liberty and rights (as though emulation of TJ's ink on the Declaration of Independence is still wet) are BSing. There are many reasons too. But Sallies' LP chit-chat channel has a gay canary that has unrestrained capability to cause problems; it is because of the management of LP, too.
Stone's thread is about an unrestrained god-awful poster named "yukon." Youkon has gotten away with many shenanigans while NEVER being reprimanded by his own management. Does it bother any of us non-LP-posters? Yes, it does. Does it bother those that have capability to log-in to LP and BOZO "yukon?" I doubt it.
Still, LP is a publick Internet website and can read by anyone that is looking for opinion; "yukon" is the anti-thesis of any Internet chit-chat channel as the poster has no protocol at all. And, he is permitted unrestrained capability to challenge anyone besides making over 100 posts a day that are NONSENSE.
I can tell you that I am in the process of getting a good lawyer and pressing charges against a group of people, for hard core, real world cyber harassment- and this thread could bring you a great deal of trouble, if the yukons wanted to make trouble for you.
For chit-chat channels, I doubt there is much credence to all this nonsense. All a lawyer shall do is research your complaint and charge what ever he thinks you are worth.

Well you have to remember that this stuff all started for me when I blew the whistle on a fake charity over at FR. There are civil rights at stake here and much bigger issues than chit chat.
When the cyber harassment goes real world- and they start to tie my name together with porno and cyber cams- and impersonate me, and steal fb photos to photoshp- for the purpose of causing nasty fights with posters, so they can give out my address for revenge - THEN things start to get ugly.
Hubby has already agreed we should spend the money to get it to stop, if we have to do that. Money isn't really an issue.
I have had photos of my children posted, photos of my last home posted- my address and my face.. and I know exactly who it is who is doing this- they are very sick people- very, very sick people.
NOW I have to decide- do I want to press legal charges, or sue or both. I have gotten all the advice and costs and they have seen the evidence and we know who this is- so it is easy-peasy. I am pretty sure we could ruin these people and their lives. Great.. really nice. I am pretty sure they are more than a handful of children, other than my own, who will be affected. Very nice.
Yet-I have to do something to get this stuff to stop, because she-he/they can not seem to stop on her own , and they have now threatened my children.
As for the yukon crew- I don't think they are much different a group from my own cyberstalkers, literally. So anyway- just trying to help the cyber community here. There are people on these sites who are very good cyber stalkers and trouble makers, and are gleeful at the idea of hurting people and trying to do some damage.. and it is best not to give them something to hurt anyone else.
Perhaps my situation doesn't have anything to do with Stone and this thread. Just trying to help. It is really such a disgusting situation all around.

Cyberstalking and harassment is a crime. Taking people's information from a donation to a charity, to use to post slanderous information about them on the internet, is a crime. People go to jail for that.
Blowing the whistle on a fake charity and being harassed over it, is an infringement of a person's civil rights.
You may want to educate yourself about the rights citizens have in this country.
