The Water Cooler Title: Journo: If 9/11 Victims Were Hacked, ‘Fox News Is Finished’ In a recent interview with Russia Today, Afshin Rattansi, a Middle Eastern affairs journalist who’s appeared on the BBC, CNN and Bloomberg, said that he believes “Fox News is finished” if U.S. authorities can prove that News Corporation employees attempted to hack into the voicemails of terror attack victims killed on Sept. 11, 2001. “The Democrats have nothing much to do, but they all hate one influential cable channel: Fox News,” he said. “I’m hearing, if the 9/11 victims have been hacked by subsidiaries of News Corp., then Fox News is finished.”
This video is from Russia Today, broadcast Sunday, July 17, 2011.

#2. To: Brian S (#0) “I’m hearing, if the 9/11 victims have been hacked by subsidiaries of News Corp., then Fox News is finished.” We can only hope. Maybe Joe Farah could buy them out and make Fox the "All Birther, All The Time channel".
#3. To: Skip Intro (#2) We can only hope. You love MSNBC? ANd by extension NBC then? ANd by association with the other majors, ABC and CBS? Bascially, a lover of MSM (mainstream media)? Just curious here ... (no cable or satellite here either, so no Fox either)
#4. To: _Jim, Skip Intelligence (#3) You love MSNBC? Skippy longs for the simpler days when Uncle Walter told him what to think (and THAT'S the way it is . . .)
#5. To: _Jim (#1) Much Ado About Nothing Top cops resign as Murdoch scandal taints PM PM calls for emergency session of parliament over hacking scandal Ex-Murdoch aide Brooks arrested; police chief out Yeah, right, it's nothing at all.
#6. To: _Jim (#3) You love MSNBC? Have they broken the law like Murdoch has? If so, when?
#7. To: Skip Intro (#5) The scandal has led so far to the arrest of 10 people It's getting bigger every day now.
#8. To: Skip Intro (#5) Much Ado About Nothing Like. I. Said. Maybe you can make the case why this has 'weight' and the Pentagon Papers did not? Or, what about the NYT leaking/dislosing ACTUAL classified material just a few years back? Did you, or did you not call for the end of the NYT then? Careful now, you might just be walking a hypocritical line ... (You DO realize this NOTW 'scandal' involves all TABLOID TRASH stuff?)
#9. To: Skip Intro (#6) (Edited) Have they broken the law like ... Name some statutes that were broken ... BTW, I don't deal in tabloid trash journalism so I could really care less. Are you/did you shed tears or rejoice when the National Enquirer has been used? I detect hypocrisy b/c YOU guys just want to take down Murdock (sp?) ...
#10. To: Brian S (#0) Title: Journo: If 9/11 Victims Were Hacked, ‘Fox News Is Finished’ Nope - Ann Coulter attacked 9/11 victims already and is still a darling of Fox News. "Thats because your basically and idiot." #11. To: _Jim (#8) Trying to change the subject doesn't work here. Maybe Liberty Post would be more to your liking.
#12. To: go65 (#10) I doubt very much that Fox News is finished. They've got too strong a grip on the Republican Party for that to happen. It makes a nice fantasy though.
#13. To: Skip Intro (#11) Trying to change the subject doesn't work here. Name. The. Statutes. Broken. Where is that 'changing the subject'; that is central to what a man is being pilloried for? Maybe in YOUR WORLD that is changing the subject ...
#14. To: Brian S (#0) Here's the salient point: The Democrats have nothing much to do, but they all hate... Yep, they don't do crap except spread hate and fear. That about sums it up. To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude. — Thomas Jefferson #15. To: Skip Intro (#12) (Edited) They've got too strong a grip on the Republican Party for that to happen. Unlike the dregs, brain-dead and second-raters over at MSNBC have on the dims? Pot - kettle - African-American?
#16. To: _Jim (#9) I detect hypocrisy Nooooooooo! Not from Skippy BTW, did you know that NBC news was responsible for the Japan Nuclear Meltdown? Design of [parent company of NBC News] G.E.'s Mark 1 Nuclear Reactors Shows Weaknesses .
#17. To: _Jim, Capitalist Eric (#8) Maybe you can make the case why this has 'weight' and the Pentagon Papers did not? Oh my, now we are expected to hit every ball out of the park. Where is Eric with his list of disinfo spam when we need him? If it's a non story then there's nothing to worry your pretty little head about.
#18. To: Get Outta Dodge! (#16) BTW, did you know that NBC news was responsible for the Japan Nuclear Meltdown? That's a stretch but ...
#19. To: mininggold (#17) If it's a non story then there's nothing to worry your pretty little head about. the British police officer who declined to investigate this story last year has now lost his job. "Thats because your basically and idiot." #20. To: _Jim, skip intro (#15) Unlike the dregs, brain-dead and second-raters over at MSNBC have on the dims? Yukon appears to be back. Add another entry to my filter. "Thats because your basically and idiot." #21. To: _Jim (#15) Unlike the dregs, brain-dead and second-raters over at MSNBC have on the dims? How many Dem Presidential candidates has (MS)NBC hired in the last year or so? How many GOP candidates has Fox hired? How much money has (MS)NBC funneled to DNC candidates in the last year? How much has Fox funneled to GOP candidates? What is it about bribing the police and breaking into people's cell phones that you think is legal? See the difference? If not, you're just not trying.
#22. To: go65 (#20) Yukon appears to be back. Add another entry to my filter. I was thinking no gnu taxes, but I saw he got to make a post yesterday.
#23. To: Skip Intro (#12) I doubt very much that Fox News is finished. They've got too strong a grip on the Republican Party for that to happen. Who is going to hire all those soon to lose GOP candidates if Fox goes under? It's an analogy similiar to Israel. It's better to have a home for these people far away then having them around cluttering up the immediate neighborhood.
#24. To: go65 (#19) the British police officer who declined to investigate this story last year has now lost his job. Hopefully he will be arrested before he has time to spend his Fox paycheck.
#25. To: Skip Intro (#21) How many Dem Presidential candidates has (MS)NBC hired in the last year or so? That's your standard - a time frame of about a year? No wonder ... you are history deficient ... Say - where is George Steponallofus working again?
#26. To: Skip Intro (#22) I was thinking no gnu taxes, but I saw he got to make a post yesterday. more like Yukon, jump into threads and try and change the subject. Meanwhile, the UK just launched an investigation of police efforts to cover up the scandal. "Thats because your basically and idiot." #27. To: Skip Intro (#21) (Edited) What is it about bribing the police and breaking into people's cell phones that you think is legal? A) No evidence has even been presented (BTW, the 'charge' seems to involve calling into someone's voice mail and listening to the voice 'messages' ... dummy - do you even know what "voice mail" is?) B) You have failed repeatedly to even detail ONE LEGITMATE CHARGE that any party hs been charged with or alleged to have committed. Do you work for the National Tattler or something? Even your posting comes across as TABLOID TRASH POSTING ...
#28. To: go65 (#20) Yukon appears to be back. Add another entry to my filter. Isn't that sweet! Dame yukon missed us! A movie about the losing VP candidate is called "The Undefeated"? #29. To: _Jim (#27) I guess the resignations of the two top cops at Scotland Yard just happened because they wanted to spend more time with their families.
#30. To: Skip Intro (#29) (Edited) I guess the resignations of the two top cops at Scotland Yard just ... Unless you are clairvoyant (sp?), you can't possibly know why they resigned ... Speculate, like a Tabloid paper, yes ...
#31. To: _Jim (#25) Say - where is George Steponallofus working again? When, exactly, was he a presidential candidate? Try staying on topic or it's off to bozoland for you.
#32. To: _Jim (#18) Hi Jim. You're making some good points today. Good job.
#33. To: _Jim (#27) A) No evidence has even been presented (BTW, the 'charge' involves calling into someone's voice mail and listening to the 'message' dummy - do you even know what "voice mail" is?) Yep, you act like yukon. I doubt we will be made privy to the specific findings of the ONGOING INVESTIGATION.
#34. To: _Jim (#30) Unless you are clairvoyant (sp?), you can't possibly know ... Actually I can know because they said why they resigned. You could find it out for yourself if you really wanted to.
#35. To: A K A Stone (#32) Hi Jim. You're making some good points today. Good job. Are you a Fox groupie too? I thought you didn't like the war mongers.
#36. To: Skip Intro (#31) When, exactly, was he a presidential candidate? Wow ... you think ONLY the candiate is the smart one? What apout the power players and the movers and shakers that run a campaign? WHAT ABOUT THAT MAGNIFICANT BASTARD KARL ROVE ALL YOU LEFTIES WERE DECRYING JUST A FEW YEARS AGO? What is your mental recall period anyway - six to twelve months?
#37. To: mininggold (#35) Are you a Fox groupie too? I thought you didn't like the war mongers. Hi mininggold. How are you today? Good I hope. I read about 3 or 4 of his comments. They were good ones. I didn't read any war monger stuff.
#38. To: Skip Intro (#34) Actually I can know because they said why they resigned.
The basis for making false assumptions: Causality linking on the simple basis of coincidence in temporality ... Kids of six or seven can do that pretty well too.
#39. To: _Jim (#36) No, I think we were talking about presidential candidates on the Fox payroll and for some reason you through in George Stephanopoulos. I corrected your erroneous assumption. For the last time. Bye.
#40. To: A K A Stone (#32) Hi Jim. You're making some good points today. Good job. Thanks Stone. I saw tall grass and weeds growing up untrimmed so I decided to devote some built-up angst to that project ... next I'm going out to water my own parched lawn ...
#41. To: Skip Intro, _Jim (#39) No, I think we were talking about presidential candidates on the Fox payroll and for some reason you through in George Stephanopoulos. I think you got skip in panic mode. He is afraid of you.
