Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney says the price tag of U.S. deployments shouldn't determine the nation's foreign policy. Romney on Tuesday took an indirect swipe at expected rival Jon Huntsman during a Tuesday morning stop at a feed and grain store in early voting New Hampshire. Romney says he would listen to generals guiding U.S. strategy in Afghanistan, not the accountants.
Romney says "you don't make a decision about our involvement in a conflict based on dollars and cents alone, or certainly not with regards to politics."
Huntsman, who is set to join the Republican presidential field next week, has been saying the U.S. needs to set priorities and re-evaluate where forces are deployed during tough economic times.
