The Defense Authorization Act or H.R. 1540, aka The Forever War Act of 2012, was overwhelmingly approved by the House of Representatives earlier today on a vote of 322 to 96. The Senate will now vote on its own version and then the two bills will need to be reconciled before going to Barry Obama for his signature into law. The law authorizes the United States to use military force anywhere it says there are terrorists, including within the borders of our own country. It represents the largest hand-over of unchecked war authority from Congress to the executive branch in modern American history. The founders were seriously opposed to handing this much power over to executive, fearing tyranny. If enacted into law, this provision will make Obama a dictator who can wage war without the consent of the American people.

I can guarantee you that between the statements of you, Stone Boofer and Erica and, occasionaly, pegler...no one with a minimal sense of intelligence so wonders.

I don't deny Ron Paul routinely makes some excellent points, Stone. But the fact is he's still a kooks kook, and simply doesn't know how to keep EVERY SINGLE FUCKING THOUGHT that occurs to him from passing out his mouth. Hence appearing to support legalizing heroin, for just one recent example. (I don't want to debate 'what he actually meant' on that one. That in itself proves my point he's unelectable outside of his weird district. You ALWAYS have to explain 'what he really meant' after a Ron Paul interview if you are a member of the cult of Paul lol). I don't believe Romney would be bombing the hell out of Libya today, or last month, or next month, based on whats occuring internally, and I don't believe you have anything to support suggesting otherwise.

Unfortunately, I must submit that there isn't a single other potential GOP nominee (aside from Ron Paul) that would significantly deviate from your observation about Romney. I think we're in the final days of the Republic. We have dark times ahead.

Not only will you avoid discussing the issues in the first instance, but even if their emotional response addresses the issue, you can further avoid the issues by then focusing on how “sensitive they are to criticism”. If he's unable to win, it's not an indication of his being unfit (in whatever manner you choose to judge) as a candidate... but a reflection on how the dull stupidity of the electorate at large, truly is. Never again will I fall into having to vote for the "lesser of two evils," because I would still be giving tacit approval to evil. If I have to write in the name of the candidate that earns my vote, then I will. I refuse to participate in two-party charade.

17. Change the subject. Usually in connection with one of the other ploys listed here, find a way to side-track the discussion with abrasive or controversial comments in hopes of turning attention to a new, more manageable topic. This works especially well with companions who can “argue” with you over the new topic and polarize the discussion arena in order to avoid discussing more key issues.
