The bright lights and anything-goes attitude of Sin City were tailor-made for the real estate mogul and reality TV star.
It helps that the Nevada caucuses figure prominently in the Republicans nominating process. The visit feeds rampant speculation that Mr. Trump, who has been polling at or near the front of the Republican 2012 pack, will embark on a presidential bid.
Mr. Trump will be speaking this Thursday at the Treasure Island Casino right on the Las Vegas Strip. Hosts have billed the event as A Return to the Reagan Revolution, from Ronald to Donald.
The event is being hosted by a collection of womens Republican groups, and is being promoted by Draft Trump 2012, a group launched by an Iraq war veteran in St. Charles, Mo.
Hes a draw, said Maureen Karas, president of the Active Republican Women of Las Vegas, one of the groups sponsoring the speech. I like that hes stirring things up.
