Take heart, 9% of scientists describe themselves as Conservative.
This poll would appear to be quite dubious as to what they actually found.
First, there are a lot of things that are called "science" which really aren't, and a lot of people who call themselves scientists who don't really practice science. The vast majority of this category tend to be airhead liberals.
OTOH, just about every engineer I know is a conservative, the difference being that you can't just pull things out of your ass like these so called scientists do.
You said he's an "engineer" yet you go on to say he's a scientist at a research institute. Do you even know the difference between a scientist and an engineer.
I would certainly expect a "scientist" at a government funded "research" institute to be a liberal.
You said he's an "engineer" yet you go on to say he's a scientist at a research institute. Do you even know the difference between a scientist and an engineer.
Google "research scientist engineer" ant then come back and apologize.
OTOH, "+research +scientist +engineer" would turn up results as there are both engineer researchers and scientific researchers.
There is also the job title "Research Scientist Engineer". Below is a job description for that title (them three gibberish words seem to work fine).
Research Scientist/Engineer Senior: Senior, professional level scientist/engineer. Independently applies advanced scope of scientific knowledge and principles in planning and executing laboratory research. Represents research in conferences to resolve important issues, as well as plan and coordinate research. Work involves extremely complex problems of diverse scope where analysis requires evaluation of intangible variance factors. Acts as a technical lead or consultant on various projects.
Minimum Qualifications: PhD and 6 or more years of related experience.
However, I believe what I said was that he was an engineer with the job title, "senior scientist", working at a research institute. I also said that he has two PhDs.
