Marilyn Davenport, a tea party activist and elected member of the central committee of the Republican Party of Orange County, said she will not heed calls to resign.

The controversial photo shows the president's face superimposed over the head of a baby chimp. The caption beneath the picture read, "Now you know why no birth certificate."

"I was shocked and offended and I immediately replied to her and told her that this was dripping with racism," said Scott Baugh, chairman of the RPOC. "It was sent in poor taste and she should never send an email like that to me again.

"I'm sorry if my email offended anyone, I simply found it amusing regarding the character of Obama and all the questions surrounding his origin of birth," she wrote to committee members. "In no way did I even consider the fact he's half black when I sent out the email. In fact, the thought never entered my mind until one or two other people tried to make this about race."

Yep, the real truth is that conservatives just don't like Obama because he's half black.

It's not because we oppose his socialist, unconstitutional, government takeover of healthcare after campaigning against an insurance mandate, or, his promise to televise the healthcare negotiations which was ignored, or his socialist penchant to 'spread the wealth', the nationalizing of the auto industry, or his refusal to release any documentation concerning himself and his identity, or his unconstitutional war against Libya, or his promise to not hire lobbyists then hiring more than 40 of them, or his promise to post all bills on the internet for 5 days before signing them and the fact that he didn't do that on nearly every bill that he's signed, or his promise not to tax health care benefits then signing a bill to tax them, or his promise to get us out of Iraq, or...

Nope, it's just because he's half black. Now you know the real truth.

I try not to tell others how to vote, but I will tell you how I vote, and that is for the most conservative candidate on the ballot, party be damned. I wanted to vote for Paul in 2008, but he dropped out. I then voted for the Constitution Party candidate, Chuck Baldwin.

This is all, of course, both of us assuming that our votes mean something, and I'm not totally certain that they do.

I voted for Paul anyway. I'm one of those nasty five percenters that get blamed for each party's woes, even though Paul is still in the GOP. There is no popular vote in presidential elections. And Electors technically can vote anyway they want.

I think we need to go back to no primaries. The parties select their best candidates and everyone gets on the final ballot. I'm tired of the taxpayers paying for what the parties are responsible for.

If I may join in for one quick comment to you ...

This is where you and I have courteously disagreed before.

I say now, as I did then ... I vote for the most conservative candidate on the ballot I feel can win.

Maybe that's a compromise ... in the eyes of some, it probably is.

But while I think that voting for someone like Baldwin may "feel good" ... I think if all the "feel good" votes and all the "protest votes" had gone to McCain, then Obama would not now be in the WH and continually FTU.

I did not and still don't like McCain's stand on many things, but I know for sure that I have yet to find one thing I like about anything Obama stands for.

Like you said, I also will not tell people how to vote ... I will tell them why I vote the way I do.

The primaries give you the opportunity to make a personal choice. If the primaries or done away withh, and the parties select their best candidates ... then you are delegating the authority to the parties to make choices for you, are you not?

If McCain had gotten all third party votes combined, he still would not have beaten Obama. You may be correct on the 'feel good' and protest votes because it appears those went to Obama.

However, I cannot and will not cast my sovereign vote for a globalist leftist/moderate. McCain is nowhere near being an American conservative and I could no more vote for him as I could vote for Hillary Clinton.

And I didn't feel good voting for Baldwin. I did what I knew was the right thing to do. I knew he would not win and I knew that either McCain or Obama would. But I would have definitely felt BAD had I voted for either one of them. The lesser of two evils is still evil.

I don't know that I could choose between those two. That's a losers game, the odds are all with the house. Both are leftists, the issue then goes to degrees.

Only way to win is to not play. McCain is recently proposing a Line Item Veto, again, even though it was struck down by the SCOTUS in 1998. A conservative would be happy with the SCOTUS ruling, not trying an end run around it.

I don't know. We're are discussing a hypothetical.

McCain did have his own version of a Healthcare bill, a Cap & Trade bill, supports 'Green Jobs', vowed to make Global Warming a priority, flipped on repeal of Roe, supported Bush and Obama's Stimulus, joined with Feingold on Campaign Finance Reform and Line Item Veto, both struck down by SCOTUS, joined with Ted Kennedy on Immigration Reform, supports and votes for all Free Trade deals, supports and votes for the Patriot Act, has virtually NO opposition to welfare or warfare and embraces globalism, among many other reasons to oppose him.

So would he be a better president than Obama? I don't know.

I do know that if he had been elected, I would still be contacting my representatives offices and urging them to oppose him so much that they would complain like they are doing about how much I contact them now.

All or similiar offenses previously committed by republican administrations too.

I've read WTP's indictment of 0bama's policies at Post #2...

Care to elaborate on your statement and back up your claim?

Only if you want to look like a stupid Neanderthal

QUESTION:

If the email "joke" were a photoshop of 0bama and some Neanderthals instead of chimps, would it have been considered "racist"?

And I didn't feel good voting for Baldwin. I did what I knew was the right thing to do. I knew he would not win and I knew that either McCain or Obama would. But I would have definitely felt BAD had I voted for either one of them. The lesser of two evils is still evil.

We've got a real dilemma in 2012, WTP...

I know how you feel, and we are absolutely tired of getting played by the Globalist-Elite RINOs side of the coin. But in a contest where 0bama may get another four years to further obliterate this country, how can we in good conscience waste a protest vote? We are with our backs against the cliff...

The lesser of two evils gives conservative a chance to right the wrongs and buys time for conservatism to grow. The alternative is Certain Death.

See Eisenhower (no early personal documentation), Nixon (RR and Airline bailouts, wage and price controls), Reagan(cap and trade, S and L, and banking deregulations and gov. take overs, amnesty) Bush (war, NAFTA negotiations), Bush (wars, medicare part D, TARP, Bank deregulations etc) policies. Just to name a few.

Rek, I have no doubt that to certain degrees ALL Presidents have at times violated the Constitution, lie, and abuse the Office of the Presidency...

The problem with 0bama is...he does so routinely, as a rule, to the nth degree, and pushes that envelope light years beyond any other President in history.

IOW, there is a difference between a parking ticket and murder.

Skip - Do you actually believe this photo/joke was about "race"?

A black family shown as monkeys? Nah, how could anyone think that?

I think this woman is the face of the GOP in 2012. She ought to run for something big.

It would still be stupid and unprofessional.

Dumb as hell to have done this. Both parties have these types.

The difference is you only hear of liberals engaging in such crap when Beck or Limbaugh or Hannity bring it up.

I hear you knockin...go back where you been....

You would be correct, IMO, if conservatives were elected.

But conservatives won't be elected, Republicans will. It's certain death either way.

With Repubs you get preemptive war, largest yet entitlement programs, failed stimulus programs, decimation of the Constitution, etc., each and every point being leftist ideology.

With Dems you get socialism.

It's a shell game. You can't win. You can only lose. But I certainly understand where you're coming from.

It's like asking how you wanna die. I will NOT accept the smug faced, lying-thru-his-teeth racist, Anti-American Commie for another 4 years.

I would even vote for yukon for President over the Kenyan.

If they were gorillas you may have a point. Those were actually chimpanzees - and they were cute. Dubya was portrayed as a chimp many times and that wasn't an issue.

Much ado about nuthin' IMO.
