Marilyn Davenport, a tea party activist and elected member of the central committee of the Republican Party of Orange County, said she will not heed calls to resign.

The controversial photo shows the president's face superimposed over the head of a baby chimp. The caption beneath the picture read, "Now you know why no birth certificate."

"I was shocked and offended and I immediately replied to her and told her that this was dripping with racism," said Scott Baugh, chairman of the RPOC. "It was sent in poor taste and she should never send an email like that to me again.

"I'm sorry if my email offended anyone, I simply found it amusing regarding the character of Obama and all the questions surrounding his origin of birth," she wrote to committee members. "In no way did I even consider the fact he's half black when I sent out the email. In fact, the thought never entered my mind until one or two other people tried to make this about race."

Yep, the real truth is that conservatives just don't like Obama because he's half black.

It's not because we oppose his socialist, unconstitutional, government takeover of healthcare after campaigning against an insurance mandate, or, his promise to televise the healthcare negotiations which was ignored, or his socialist penchant to 'spread the wealth', the nationalizing of the auto industry, or his refusal to release any documentation concerning himself and his identity, or his unconstitutional war against Libya, or his promise to not hire lobbyists then hiring more than 40 of them, or his promise to post all bills on the internet for 5 days before signing them and the fact that he didn't do that on nearly every bill that he's signed, or his promise not to tax health care benefits then signing a bill to tax them, or his promise to get us out of Iraq, or...

Nope, it's just because he's half black. Now you know the real truth.

All or similiar offenses previously committed by republican administrations too. So who do you propose we vote for to do things differently?

See, we can agree.

So who do you propose we vote for to do things differently?

I try not to tell others how to vote, but I will tell you how I vote, and that is for the most conservative candidate on the ballot, party be damned. I wanted to vote for Paul in 2008, but he dropped out. I then voted for the Constitution Party candidate, Chuck Baldwin.

This is all, of course, both of us assuming that our votes mean something, and I'm not totally certain that they do.

If I may join in for one quick comment to you ...

This is where you and I have courteously disagreed before.

I say now, as I did then ... I vote for the most conservative candidate on the ballot I feel can win.

Maybe that's a compromise ... in the eyes of some, it probably is.

But while I think that voting for someone like Baldwin may "feel good" ... I think if all the "feel good" votes and all the "protest votes" had gone to McCain, then Obama would not now be in the WH and continually FTU.

I did not and still don't like McCain's stand on many things, but I know for sure that I have yet to find one thing I like about anything Obama stands for.

Like you said, I also will not tell people how to vote ... I will tell them why I vote the way I do.

Sorry for the drive-by, more the next time we chat.

Not at all, jump in anytime.

If McCain had gotten all third party votes combined, he still would not have beaten Obama. You may be correct on the 'feel good' and protest votes because it appears those went to Obama.

However, I cannot and will not cast my sovereign vote for a globalist leftist/moderate. McCain is nowhere near being an American conservative and I could no more vote for him as I could vote for Hillary Clinton.

And I didn't feel good voting for Baldwin. I did what I knew was the right thing to do. I knew he would not win and I knew that either McCain or Obama would. But I would have definitely felt BAD had I voted for either one of them. The lesser of two evils is still evil.

I know that you did what you did because you felt it was the right thing to do ... and that is noble, most noble.

Given a choice, would you rather have McCain or Obama in the WH today?

I don't know that I could choose between those two. That's a losers game, the odds are all with the house. Both are leftists, the issue then goes to degrees.

Only way to win is to not play. McCain is recently proposing a Line Item Veto, again, even though it was struck down by the SCOTUS in 1998. A conservative would be happy with the SCOTUS ruling, not trying an end run around it.

I repeat ... in your opinion, would McCain (with all his faults) have been better POTUS than what Obama has proven to be?

A known versus an unknown hypothetical. That sure makes a lot of sense.

I don't know. We're are discussing a hypothetical.

McCain did have his own version of a Healthcare bill, a Cap & Trade bill, supports 'Green Jobs', vowed to make Global Warming a priority, flipped on repeal of Roe, supported Bush and Obama's Stimulus, joined with Feingold on Campaign Finance Reform and Line Item Veto, both struck down by SCOTUS, joined with Ted Kennedy on Immigration Reform, supports and votes for all Free Trade deals, supports and votes for the Patriot Act, has virtually NO opposition to welfare or warfare and embraces globalism, among many other reasons to oppose him.

So would he be a better president than Obama? I don't know.

I do know that if he had been elected, I would still be contacting my representatives offices and urging them to oppose him so much that they would complain like they are doing about how much I contact them now.
