These are the 8 straight budgets with tremendous 50% spending hikes that Paul Ryan voted for. FY 2000, H CON RES 68, 3/25/99, FY 2001, H CON RES 290, 3/24/00, FY 2002, H CON RES 83, 3/28/01, FY 2003, H CON RES 353, 3/20/02, FY 2004, H CON RES 95, 3/21/03, FY 2005, H CON RES 393, 3/25/04, FY 2006, H CON RES 95, 3/17/05, FY 2007, H CON RES 376, 5/18/06 And lest we forget, Mr. Ryan was in on that whole 8-year Republican travesty under the Bush the Lesser Administration that crippled our economy in the first place. Bait and switch fiscal “conservatives”, like Ryan, passed the unfunded $8 trillion Medicare Part D boondoggle by “shoving it down the throats” of the American taxpayers through reconciliation. According to One Wisconsin Now, “ Paul Ryan’s ‘Road Map’ would hand our government over to big business and Wall Street speculators, and silence the voices of working families. America needs jobs, not Paul Ryan’s budget-busting, recycled corporate special interest wish list.”

The Republicans won elections by scaring the white rubes into voting for them with thinly veiled racism and culture warfare hot buttons and then when in power transfer wealth to the oligarchs they serve.

Good observation. Now, how have Democrats gotten elected and what do they do when in power?
On international policy the change is so minor it is not even noticeable. On domestic, the two parties are about the same also but the difference is more noticeable. I do sense one difference - the Republicans tend to crazy talk to their constituents more though behind the scenes they follow establishment patterns. For example, most of Obama's health care plan was written up by Republicans during the Bob Dole era and most of the Republicans who wrote it up are still in Washington. Republicans were against it now because it was pushed by Obama and they wanted to deny him a win. Thus, all talk about socialized medicine by communist Obama was in fact crazy talk designed for demagoguery to rile up the base. The crazies exist in both parties but the doom and gloom crazy talk - the ones who inherited the kooks who looked up at the sky and saw black UN helicopters forcing people into FEMA death camps and 666 computer ID chips have gravitated toward the GOP. Do you guys see it that way also?
