The Water Cooler Title: Conservatives Welcome Gays More Than Ever, Activist Believes
"The real story is that the conservative movement is more united than ever," Christopher Barron of GOProud said on MSNBC's "The Ed Show" Saturday. He continued, "There are a few people, people like birther king Joseph Farah and the WorldNetDaily crowd who make their living trying to grab attention, grab headlines, divide the movement. The fact is the conservative movement is united. We`re winning..." Guest host Cenk Uygur, however, questioned Barron's definition of winning at a time when an overwhelming majority of Republicans voted against the repeal of the US military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. "Why won`t you recognize the most obvious, simple truth?" Uygur asked. GA_googleFillSlot("Raw_Embedded_300"); Barron replied, "Look, you wouldn't have had 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' repealed if it weren't for those Republican votes."
Eight Republican senators and 15 Republican House members voted for the repeal of the 17-year-old policy that required gay troops to hide their sexual orientation or face removal. Republicans that voted against the repeal did so after the Pentagon issued a study showing that a majority of US troops cared not for the prospect of lifting the ban. Soldiers also said that the military could implement the change without a major disruption or upheaval. The repeal effort also enjoyed broad support from the US public, as well as from Defense Secretary Robert Gates and US Joint Chiefs Chairman Mike Mullen. Still, several right-wing anti-gay organizations planned to boycott the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in February because an invitation was extended to Barron's GOProud, according to WorldNetDaily. "Look, Chris," Uygur pleaded, "we have got to leave it here, but you've got to wake up, man. In 2004, they ran the whole national campaign against hating you. In 2006, they ran a whole national campaign against hating you." "I am wide awake," Barron answered. This video is taken from Crooks and Liars, broadcast Jan 1. 2011.

I was always taught that queers are an abomination. I had no problem with that since logic dictates that any disgusting perversion that has some people, by their very behavior, advocating the discontinuation of the human race is the epitome of insanity.
#2. To: eskimo (#1) Actually, it might of merely been a variation that helped the species flourish. In a hunter/gatherer culture, not every couple could produce kids at the same time without taxing the ability of the group to support extra kids. It might be the case that same gender preference people worked to help raise other people's kids as their effort went to the common good. This has been suggested by some sociologists as one way to look at it, and it makes sense. I mean, you are making assumptions here with no empirical data or research to back you up. In fact, many gay people do reproduce. And if the species were in danger of extinction - and I'm here to tell you there are billions of us saying this is not the case - I'm sure they would pitch in and help, even if that is not their first choice for whom they bed down. People like you spend way too much time trying to vilify and demonize very normal people who have just one minor variation to them you don't like to be very mentally healthy and stable. I suggest getting help. ![]() ![]() #3. To: Ferret Mike (#2) In a hunter/gatherer culture, not every couple could produce kids at the same time without taxing the ability of the group to support extra kids. Who told you there was such a thing as a 'human breeding season'? People reproduce all year long with no interruption of critical societal services. Keep trying to justify the unjustifiable. Well, [war's] got to do something for attention, his multiple personalities aren't speaking to him any more, and his imaginary friends keep finding excuses not to come over. #4. To: Rudgear (#3) "Who told you there was such a thing as a 'human breeding season'? People reproduce all year long with no interruption of critical societal services." Human females don't have a 'season,' which was not what I said, dummy. I was talking logistics for supporting kids and how that could have been a factor reducing the number of people having kids at any particular time. Read for content, though I know it's hard to do with a closed mind and hate as your mantra. ![]() ![]() #5. To: Ferret Mike (#4) I just took the liberal far left nonsense that is bandied about by you libtards with no regard for truth and showed your sophistry for what it was, dummy. There was no problem caring for kids until women became liberated to see their children as a burden in response to the academic left. As far as hate is concerned, anyone who shows your perverted, libertine lifestyle for what it is is dismissed as a closed minded intolerant person. I guess that's how you keep from confronting any refutation of your death-centric lifestyle. Well, [war's] got to do something for attention, his multiple personalities aren't speaking to him any more, and his imaginary friends keep finding excuses not to come over. #6. To: Ferret Mike (#2) I guess there is no limit to the excuses one can invent to justify any insanity. I would also guess that the vast majority of rational people would rather not have those with aberrant mental processes any where near the selection of their political leaders.
#7. To: Ferret Mike, Rudgear (#4)
LOL! You're an inspiration to hateful bigots. I'll pass on joining your hate cult, thank you.
#8. To: hondo68 (#7) LOL! You noticed that 'anomaly' too, huh? Well, [war's] got to do something for attention, his multiple personalities aren't speaking to him any more, and his imaginary friends keep finding excuses not to come over. #9. To: eskimo (#6) "I guess there is no limit to the excuses one can invent to justify any insanity." Likewise, I'm sure. ![]() ![]() #10. To: Rudgear (#5) Your post makes no rational sense and makes no argument except you don't want to debate the issue. You are more concerned with unsults and epithets, so as you are no more than a Yukon level responder, you don't deserve anything more than a shun. ![]() ![]() #11. To: Ferret Mike (#10) But you felt compelled to respond anyway. And bump the thread. Typical. Well, [war's] got to do something for attention, his multiple personalities aren't speaking to him any more, and his imaginary friends keep finding excuses not to come over. #12. To: eskimo (#1) Nonsense! I was always taught that queers are an abomination. Funny, that's what I was taught about you. Coincidence?
#13. To: meguro (#12) Shame on you for that silly, childish innuendo.
#14. To: Ferret Mike (#9) Likewise, I'm sure. LOL! Perversions are difficult to defend aren't they?
#15. To: eskimo (#13) Shame on you for that silly, childish innuendo. Shame on your for being an ignorant homophobe.
#16. To: eskimo (#14) LOL! Perversions are difficult to defend aren't they? So is ignorance and stupidity. How do you do it?
