Thanks for the info. I thought perhaps they were simply having some kind of software/hardware malfunction. But this looks much more mysterious and sinister than that.
And you should try a diesel pickup. I guarantee you spend an afternoon with a Cummins turbo, and you won't want anything else. I love them, but.. sadly, I'm just too fucking cheap to spend that kind of money. Can't do it, my hand simply refuses to write a check that big.
Here's my junker in it's current state of decay..
I know it looks kind of rough.. but I think most of that will buff right out and I've found that fenders are over rated and just too heavy to be taken seriously.

A little chickenwire and paper maché and nobody'll notice the difference. Heck, I used to see vehicles like that on the Ohio turnpike all the time... Of course, that was maybe 20~25 years ago.

Best thing about these is they're so cheap to fix right in the first place, there's really no need.
Got both rockers, cab corners and a weld in cab mount, delivered, today for $50.23
I'm going to patch some old doors I picked up, but the rest of it (fenders and probably the bed) is so cheap to buy new, I just can't imagine going to allot of effort for it.
The tormented screams of pinched pennies echo around these parts..
