From World Net Daily: Puckett confirmed that the judge in the case, Denise Lind, rendered the proper legal ruling regarding access to Obamas birth and eligibility evidence.
She was right on the facts and right on the law, he told WND.
He hinted about his plan of defense.
All those issues concerning the presidents eligibility to hold office are completely irrelevant as to whether Lt. Col. Lakin was issued lawful orders and whether he obeyed them, he said.
The National Institute of Military Justice blog expects a guilty plea:
The biggest unknown was whether bringing in Puckett, a respected and experienced military justice practitioner, signalled a significant change in strategy, or if this was simply a change in personnel with the same end goal of verifying President Obamas eligibility to be the commander-in-chief.
Of course, those who know LTC Lakins new civilian counsel immediately suspected the formerthat the investigating officers and military judges rulings against Lakin had finally sunk in, and Puckett was brought in to attempt to salvage any hope of mercy being meted out to Lakin. A recent post seems to confirm the belief that the trial spectacle previously promised will fizzle into a guilty plea. It remains to be seen whether the government has any incentive to offer or accept a pretrial agreement in this case.
