Talk Radio Watch Title: The worst tattoo EVER: Man gets radio station logo inked across his forehead... The worst tattoo EVER: Man gets radio station logo inked across his forehead... after he's fooled by DJ's fake offer of cash It is the mistake that he will see staring back at him from the mirror every single day for the rest of his life. Meet David Jonathan Winkelman - a 48-year-old Iowa man who is bitterly regretting ever listening to radio station KORB. That is what he was doing in 2000 when he heard a disc jockey offer listeners a six-figure payout if they tattooed the hard rock FM station's call letters and logo on their forehead.
Winkelman and his equally gullible stepson Richard Goddard promptly took themselves down to the local tattoo parlour in the decision that would change their lives. When they emerged, they each had the words 'Quad City Rocker' and '93 Rock' etched - permanently - into their foreheads. Then they went to the station to collect their cash - and were confronted with the horrifying truth. The call had been a practical joke, a silly radio stunt, and the station had no intention of paying up. Winkelman and Goddard sued, claiming that the station had sought to have listeners permanently marked so they could be 'publicly scorned and ridiculed for their greed and lack of common good sense'. But within months of filing, Winkelman dismissed the complaint. Goddard's case was later dismissed by a judge when he failed to show in court. It might have been the end of the matter - but Winkelman was arrested on Thursday night on a misdemeanour charge. Police snapped his mug shot - and it found its way on to the internet, where it swiftly went viral. Since Winkelman got the tattoo, KORB has changed both its call letters and its format. It is now an adult contemporary station known as KQCS, Star 93.5. #2. To: Skip Intro (#0) (Edited) http://message.snopes.com/showthread.php?t=1277 Think this is body paint, but you'd never want to go to prison with a tattooo like this.
Here's another winner. Must of been a hell of a good drunk to be buzzed enough to chose this one. ![]() #3. To: Skip Intro, war (#0) At lest we know what your buddy war looks like. Another quality post from skivvy. Well, [war's] got to do something for attention, his multiple personalities aren't speaking to him any more, and his imaginary friends keep finding excuses not to come over. (Murron) #4. To: Rudgear (#3) Gee Ruddy, you sure do bitch a lot. Why not post something yourself, or better yet, just bozo me?

So, does this mean we are lucky we don't have to see your face when we check your body art out? ![]() #6. To: Skip Intro (#4)
Cut him some slack. He's been like this ever since not being able to pass the metal detector has kept him from flying to LA to go to Disneyland to be fucking Goofy. ![]() #7. To: Ferret Mike (#6) At least the guy in the story thought he was going to make some money for doing it. I have no idea what this guy was thinking.
#8. To: Skip Intro (#7) "I have no idea what this guy was thinking." Oh yeah... same here. But I imagine if Spock did a mind meld with him he'd at least find a decent test pattern up there. ![]() #9. To: Skip Intro (#7)
I'm not going to post exact copies of my tattoos, but this tribal dolphin is real close to the first one I had done. Most of my tattoos are larger, and I have more then one dolphin. ![]() #10. To: Skip Intro (#0) It might have been the end of the matter - but Winkelman was arrested on Thursday night on a misdemeanour charge. Too bad he's not a felon in a California prison. He could get it removed at taxpayer's expense with Arnie's approval.
#11. To: mininggold (#10) Don't let that out. I think he might be byeltsin and he posts here sometimes.
#12. To: Ferret Mike (#5) Still here, drama queen? I thought you bailed long ago. You must be on your Barbara Streisand never ending farewell tour. Guess you can't give up those $.05 per post checks you get. Well, [war's] got to do something for attention, his multiple personalities aren't speaking to him any more, and his imaginary friends keep finding excuses not to come over. (Murron) #13. To: mininggold (#10) We have the same program here in Eugene, OR. The first guy they did the removal for had "ACID" tattooed crudely across his forehead. Ironically, he still lives here and is a security man in the downtown. Talk about a change in lifestyle. ![]() #14. To: Rudgear (#12) Nah, sunshine. I actually like Stone enough to contribute when he removes offensive content and does good work as a moderator. I've posted in forums long enough to know you don't have to stick to an OPUS if you see an improvement in management. But thanks for sharing, Eeyore. It's just so special that you care. ![]() #15. To: Skip Intro (#7) It's ironic; the worst pain I ever had from a tat was from one a woman called 'Beautiful Mountain' did a month before I had my fall from that incense cedar busting myself up real horrorshow. It was still scabby, and would of been tolerable if but for how it was just that wee bit more pain added onto a whole bunch more. I had one guy who hated me attack me while I had fixators sticking out of my arms thinking he had an easy target of opportunity when I first got out of the hospital in Eugene. This was just before I went to the VA rehab unit to rebuild arm strength and flexibility in Vancouver, WA. Fortunately, as a bicyclist I had no problem playing human hacky sack with him. My legs are very strong. I sat on his chest until he promised to be peaceful if I let him up. ![]() Top • Page Up • Full Thread • Page Down • Bottom/Latest |
