I'll give you a hint....I...P.....address obsession.
It's bad enough that the feds can violate our privacy all the time; some folks, like me and others, take umbrage at fellow citizens trying to do the same.
Ok Fred I have an announcement coming soon. But in the meantime here is
something for you. I'm not obsessed with IP numbers. I've known about dublicate
numbers for over a month. Didn't say a word. Until con op said someone was
harrassing him private by private message. He said a person who I hat noted
earlier had been registered as someone else. As for the IP obsession thing, I
have no control on how they are collected. In fact I asked neil if he could
possibly make an addition to the software so that I could clear them all out
occasionally. Neil if anyone asks you about that private message I sent you
about a month ago you are free to discuss it. There is a valid reason to have
the IP numbers though. So that one person can't have multiple screen names and
boost his argument throught deceptive means. I think that retaining them for a
month or so would be sufficient for that task. I wouldn't mind having an auto
delete funtion that would automatically delete ip numbers after a set time
period. The only reason I talked about any of this stuff in public is because I
am trying to provide an open forum and let everyone know where I am coming from.
I could just ban any screen names that have duplicate IP's as other sites do.
But I tried to be open and not secretive about it.
