The Water Cooler Title: Tea Party Questionnaire Reveals Obsession With Homosexuality Perhaps it's not tea, taxes or Glenn Beck which divides many Tea Partiers from traditional Republicans. Oh noes, maybe it's the gays. Days after former RNC chair Ken Mehlman came out -- after years of prodding and pressure by gay activist Mike Rogers due to perceived hypocrisy -- many prominent Republicans are backing a fundraiser for same-sex marriage, as Politico's Ben Smith reports.
Meanwhile, The UK Guardian's Environment Blog notes, "A local Ohioan newspaper called the Sandusky Register has unearthed an email sent out last week by a local Tea Party group called The Freedom Institute of Erie County to the representatives of candidates seeking office in the forthcoming elections."
The Guardian blog adds, "There's much to discuss with these questions, obviously. First, there's the ordering of the questions in terms of their presumed priority. Second, there's the, what would appear to be, obsession with homosexuality." Three of the fifteen questions directly touch on gay themes, beginning with the third question.
Question number ten appears to derive from a controversial video released in May. The Christian Newswire noted in the spring, "On the eve of a congressional vote on gays in the military, a shocking new video dramatically explains why the admission of open and active homosexuals into the U.S. military could very well result in the spreading of deadly HIV-tainted blood throughout the ranks. Entitled, "Asking for Trouble," the video from the public policy group America's Survival, Inc. (ASI) notes that male Source: America's Survival, Inc."
A Think Progress article in May charged that "right-wing hate-monger Cliff Kincaid’s" group's "abhorrent video — and the 60 page report that accompanies it — present ludicrous stereotypes of gay men and women, going so far as to claim that 'open and active homosexuals into the U.S. military could very well result in the spreading of deadly HIV-tainted blood throughout the ranks.'"
Tea Party groups have blasted Democrats and the media for claiming that they are mostly white and for focusing on racist signs, and have mounted campaigns to focus on the few minorities seen in their crowds. Perhaps, like traditional Republicans, the Tea Party movement plans to politicize gays at first, before returning to court them later. We shall see who it 'scares the hell out of' once the campaign commercials start running, putting on display the "teabagging kooks" and their outrageous behavior/positions. Never swear "allegiance" to anything other than the 'right to change your mind'! #4. To: Brian S (#3) We shall see who it 'scares the hell out of' once the campaign commercials start running, putting on display the "teabagging kooks" and their outrageous behavior/positions. Already 'out there' Brian S. It isn't working, as primary after primary, and poll after poll demonstrates. This election is about the piss poor performance of Pelosi, Reid, and the Owe- bama Administration on the economy, and the bankrupting of the nation in the quest for socialist utopia. Thats why nobody on the Left/Dem side of the aisle is running commercials about what they've 'accomplished'. They know its akin to putting a loaded cocked gun in their own mouths. The Liberals have been going 'negative' for four years now...and its worn thin with the voters. but hey, I hope they do EXACTLY as you suggest. In fact I know they will. They don't have any other option. Obama's first all-by-his-lonesome budget, btw, calls for a $1.17 trillion deficit. #5. To: Badeye (#4) It isn't working, as primary after primary, and poll after poll demonstrates. Perhaps but only we political junkies pay any real attention to the primaries. Normal folks will soon start to pay attention as the kids are back in school and the weather cools. Can't wait (for the cooler weather at least)... Normally thats true, we both know it. But we are seeing record turn out in many. Then again, with record numbers unemployed you get a 'two'fer'. They have plenty of time on their collective hands, and they are pissed off. Obama's first all-by-his-lonesome budget, btw, calls for a $1.17 trillion deficit. #8. You really don't get it; The Tea Party is We The People. Normal people. There are still too many of us. Anyone who witnessed that Beck Event would MUCH rather be associated with us, than the outrageousness of you Commie freaks and hairies, fags and fairies. Not to mention 0bama. You're done, Brian - stick a fork in your own fat ass.

Well stated, Baddie. 0bama and the Left will be running the Bush Option. Independents will NOT be buying "Hopey-Changey" for another munute. They WILL be noting the cluster****** economy, wealth care debacle, and the rest of the disaster. The only thing that stops the GOP from winning HUGE will be the intentional sabotage by globalist-RINOs of the RNC. It is possible.
