SAN DIEGO Two supervisory U.S. Border Patrol agents who helped establish a successful cross-border anti-smuggling program have been charged with smuggling migrants for a Mexican trafficking organization. The agents, both stationed in the Imperial Valley, released apprehended illegal immigrants in exchange for cash, pulling in about $300,000, according to a federal indictment unsealed Thursday. The men, Mario Alvarez, 44, and Samuel McClaren, 43, also released captured members of a Mexican smuggling ring, dropping one off at a Wal-Mart parking lot in Calexico for $6,000, prosecutors allege. Alvarez and McClaren, who were arrested Thursday, face potential 15-year prison terms. The ...

If it's war you want, forget Afghanistan and the "Axis of Evil" invented by the president's speechwriters and take a look at our dear amigo to the south, Mexico. Last year, according to documented reports of the U.S. Border Patrol, Mexican troops and police officers crossed into United States territory at least 23 times. Since the Bush administration seems to be silent about and indifferent to these invasions, Rep. Tom Tancredo, by far the most courageous critic of mass immigration now in public life, has demanded an explanation from the Mexican government. Don't bet your tamales he'll get a serious one. The explanation Mr. Tancredo does get from Mexico is that the incursions ...

in 1993 there were 191 million Whites and 22 million Hispanics, or 89.7% Whites and 10.3% Hispanics, who had a combined homicide rate of 3.6. Do you know of any reason that American Whites should have committed homicide rate higher than mostly White North Dakota or 0.2, or at most Ireland at 0.6? I don't either, but let's be conservative and use 0.6. 89.7% x 0.6 + 10.3% x X = 3.6 0.5382 + .103X = 3.6 .103X = 3.062 X = 29.7 = Homicide rate of Hispanics Such a homicide rate for Hispanics is half their rate in Colombia of 60, but consistent with Venezuela and Los Angeles of 30. Los Angeles is unique because it's the only American city which had the distinction of being the Murder Capitol ...

PHOENIX -- Gov. Janet Napolitano on Wednesday ordered more National Guardsmen posted at the Mexican border to help stop illegal immigrants and curb related crimes. National Guard troops have worked at the border since 1988, but Napolitano signed an order authorizing commanders to station an unspecified number of additional soldiers there to help federal agents. Once the funding is approved, the troops will monitor crossing points, assist with cargo inspection and operate surveillance cameras, according to the order. "They are not there to militarize the border," the governor said. "We are not at war with Mexico." About 170 National Guardsmen are already posted at the ...

The number of illegal immigrants in the US has continued to grow by nearly half a million each year in spite of US efforts to increase security at the countrys borders, according to a survey released on Tuesday. ADVERTISEMENT The study, by the Pew Hispanic Center, said that the population of unauthorised migrants reached between 11.5m and 12m last year, accounting for nearly a third of the foreign-born population in the US. That number is up from roughly 8.4m in 2000. The continued rise was driven primarily by the strong demand for low-skilled work in the US. What were seeing is a labour migration that is tied to employment opportunities, said Jeffrey Passel, the ...
U.S. Will Clamor For Mexican Workers In Coming Years, Fox Says Post Date: 2006-03-02 14:45:55 by Brian S

ABOARD THE PRESIDENTE JUAREZ - Flying high above the Yucatan peninsula, Mexican President Vicente Fox leaned forward and pointed a finger to make this point: In a few years, he said, the United States may be begging Mexico for the very workers it's now trying to keep out by building a wall along the border. With the looming retirement from the work force of the U.S. baby boom generation, and with Mexico's population growth-rate declining, immigration from Mexico will slow just as demand for workers in the United States will be growing, he told Knight Ridder in an interview aboard his presidential jet. "I am absolutely convinced that by 2010, the United States will have a great ...

WASHINGTON - President Bush needs to do more to help push a temporary guest worker program through Congress, Republican Sen. John McCain, the author of a key immigration bill, said Tuesday. McCain, acknowledging that Bush has stepped up a campaign on behalf of the program, said the president has credibility on the issue because he was governor of Texas, the state with the largest border with Mexico. "I want him to do more, from my viewpoint," McCain said in a conference call with reporters. McCain held the conference call in advance of town hall meetings in Miami on Thursday and New York on Monday. The administration has toyed with the idea of a temporary worker program since ...
