Ripper Street, the tv series by BBC
Post Date: 2018-02-04 17:03:26 by sneakypete
This is a pretty good series. The title comes from the nickname given to the area where Jack the Ripper terrorized whores in England. That area is actually named White Chapel. To further confuse things, the only thing Jack the Ripper has to do with this is a couple of the senior policemen in this series were the policemen that tried and failed to catch Jack. Still,it is a very good series, and as always with the English dramas, you just can't beat the realism of the acting, the clothing,or the scenery. NOBODY does period drama better than the English. Give it a watch, and if you like it,you can watch more several places, like Netflix,Amazon, and probably a dozen more. I get both Netflix and ...
Everyone You Love Did Drugs
Post Date: 2018-01-13 09:40:59 by Deckard
It turns out that a lot of accomplished, well-respected historical figures did drugs. From Winston Churchill taking amphetamines to Thomas Edison lacing his wine with cocaine, not everyone who uses narcotics is a hopeless basket case living in a dumpster. While some drug users spiral into addiction and crime, others go on to become president. It's time to debunk the age old stereotypes of the back alley dangerous dealer or the lazy stoner when, according to the National Survey on Drug Use, roughly half of all Americans have tried an illegal drug. In the latest "Mostly Weekly" host Andrew Heaton breaks down the cartoonish Drug Warrior portrayal of drugs by showing some of the ...

"They also serve who only stand and pick." -- John Milton (almost)The Wrecking Crew changed popular music in the 1960's. The only member who ever made it big as a solo performer was Glen Campbell. These musicians were the music behind the Beach Boys, including "Good Vibrations" (as well as The Byrds, The Mamas & the Papas, Johnny Rivers, Paul Revere & the Raiders, Neil Diamond, The Grass Roots and numerous other acts). There is a great documentary on them on Netflix. My review of the documentary is here.In Muscle Shoals, Alabama, the Swampers did the same thing in the late 1960's . . . and beyond. Post Date: 2017-12-18 10:44:37 by Deckard
from the real-criminal-conspirators-are-the-ones-with-badges dept Earlier this year, we covered the horrific story of the death of a 5'4" 110-lb. 18-year-old at the hands of the Mesquite (TX) police department. The teen, suffering from a bad acid trip, was tased multiple times, threatened with death by an officer, and left to die in a jail cell with little more than a cursory nod towards his health and wellbeing. Graham Dyer's parents were unable to obtain any details about their son's death from the Mesquite PD. The department refused to turn over records, pointing to state law allowing it to withhold records on arrested suspects who never faced criminal charges. This ...

Another Las Vegas Witness Adamant There Was More Than One Shooter, Feels "Betrayed," "Attacked by Own Government"
Post Date: 2017-11-01 16:13:49 by Hondo68
Las Vegas concert attendee and massacre witness, Rick Ardito, appearing on the Jeff Rense Show on October 16th, became another in the lengthening list of witnesses at the concert who insist there was more than one gunman. Ardito says he heard closer gunfire coming from his right, from the direction of the stage, as he and his party frantically attempted to exit the venue. Ardito, who says he is a shooter who belongs to a private gun club, says a ground-level shooter was no more than one-hundred-and-fifty to two hundred yards away. The Mandalay Bay shooting location of the alleged sole shooter, Stephen Paddock, was about 400 yards away in a different direction than the one Ardito describes, ...

Mapping the massacre
Post Date: 2017-10-24 11:25:53 by Tooconservative
A New York Times team including Malachy Browne, Drew Jordan, Nicole Fineman and Chris Cirillo has produced a video that maps a timeline of the Las Vegas massacre: The shots began at 10:05. Twelve bursts of gunfire later, police broke down Stephen Paddocks door at the Mandalay Bay. Using forensic analysis, The Times mapped 30 videos that show a vivid picture of what happened that night. The Times has posted the video here and also made the video embeddable. I have posted it below. The Times does not specifically address the controversy surrounding the alterations in the timeline regarding Jesus Campos. Rather, the video maps his activity in the corridor during the ...

Megyn Kelly's Sunday Show On NBC Yanked After Just Eight Episodes
Post Date: 2017-07-31 11:13:00 by Tooconservative
Maybe Megyn Kelly isn't the answer to all of NBC's problems. Her 7 p.m. Sunday show, suffering from low ratings that plunged after her debut, has been pulled off the schedule after just eight weeks. The network "was angling for around 10 episodes," the New York Post reported, citing a defensive NBC source who said, The exact number of shows was never set, and that Kelly needs to be freed up to focus on Megyn Kelly Today. But the show was set to run for the summer -- and summer's got four more weeks. Plus, Kelly's morning show doesn't begin until Sept. 25, so there's plenty of time to continue the weekly news magazine. The show, ...

Munising, MI The parents of a man killed by police are understandably upset after finding out this week that the cop, officer Justin Schlabach, who shot their unarmed son, Timothy Mitchell, for walking toward him will have immunity in the lawsuit. Mitchells family sued Munising Officer Justin Schlabach, saying he used excessive force at the end of a chase in 2014. According to TV6, in a 2-1 decision Wednesday, the appeals court said the officer had probable cause to believe Mitchell was an immediate threat after the man drove into a ditch. The court says dash-cam video shows Mitchell appeared hostile and took long, purposeful steps toward Schlabach. ...

Lee County, AL Fear, cowardice, dread, hate training one or more of these traits are present more often than not when a police officer shoots an unarmed person. And, in the dashcam video below, that assertion becomes apparent as Opelika police officer Phillip Hancock shot Airman Michael Davidson for no reason other than fear. The incident happened on March 6, 2014, however, the dashcam was kept secret until a little more than three years to the date after the shooting. Hancock was responding to a minor accident in which Davidson had swiped the back of a tractor trailer and both parties were waiting for police to arrive after they had exchanged information. When Hancock ...
