Bill Maher: ‘There Is One Religion In The World That Kills You When You Disagree With Them’
Post Date: 2011-04-11 08:25:51 by Sebastian
What it comes down to, is that there is one religion in the world that kills you when you disagree with them. And they say, Look, we are a religion of peace, and if you disagree, well cut your fucking head off.
French Full Veil Ban Goes Into Force
Post Date: 2011-04-11 04:38:54 by Murron
French Full Veil Ban Goes Into Force PARIS, April 11 (Reuters) - France's ban on full face veils, a first in Europe, went into force on Monday, exposing anyone who wears the Muslim niqab or burqa in public to fines of 150 euros ($216). A Muslim property dealer, who is urging women to keep wearing the veil if they want to, has urged supporters to go to Notre Dame cathedral in central Paris for a silent prayer during the day, and is also offering to help people pay the fines. France's five-million-strong Muslim minority is Western Europe's largest, but fewer than 2,000 women are believed actually to wear a full face veil. Many Muslim leaders have said they support neither ...

The Coming is Upon Us – Israel Shall be Destroyed!
Post Date: 2011-04-08 08:45:21 by Happy Quanzaa
Iran Leaders: The Coming is Upon Us IsraelShall be Destroyed! Several months ago I was informed by my contacts in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard that the Basij had started a project that had the approval of the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The purpose of the project was to inform Muslims across the globe of the immediate coming of the last Islamic messiah. The Iranian leaders, now more than ever, feel that all the stars are aligned for such event. Ever since the Iranian Revolution of 1979, the Islamic rulers of Iran have declared themselves representatives of God on Earth, believing their mission is to pave the way ...
Is this the first ever portrait of Jesus? 70 ancient books hidden in a cave for nearly 2,000 years
Post Date: 2011-04-03 16:30:57 by Hondo68
The image is eerily familiar: a bearded young man with flowing curly hair. After lying for nearly 2,000 years hidden in a cave in the Holy Land, the fine detail is difficult to determine. But in a certain light it is not difficult to interpret the marks around the figure's brow as a crown of thorns. The extraordinary picture of one of the recently discovered hoard of up to 70 lead codices -- booklets -- found in a cave in the hills overlooking the Sea of Galilee is one reason Bible historians are clamouring to get their hands on the ancient artefacts. If genuine, this could be the first-ever portrait of Jesus Christ, possibly even created in the lifetime of those who knew him. ...
The Character of Christ's Church
Post Date: 2011-04-02 22:14:04 by Don
The Character of Christ's Church James Smith, 1860 There is a good a glorious time coming. The Lord shall be King over all the earth. Jesus will be personally present with his people. The curse will be completely rolled away from the world, and the effects of that curse will cease. Creation will be in harmony and be happy. The Church will be like Christ, as well as with Christ. Then shall be fulfilled the Lord's precious promise, "They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea." Isaiah 11:9. This promise must be made good, and a glorious time it will be when it is. But ...

Defend Israel. LIBERAL MYTH NO. 1: The Jews stole the land from the Palestinians. REFUTATION: No, they didn't. After the Romans cleared out and decimated the mighty cities built by Jews like King Herod, Palestine was an arid, sparsely populated backwater that was eventually claimed (for land bridge reasons) by the Ottoman Empire, then by the British Empire. Jews have lived in the region continuously for well over 2,000 years. The British found themselves overseeing an indigenous population made up of Jews and Arabs-and sometimes Arab Jews. All were referred to as "Palestinians." Ownership of the land was a patch work. Much of the land was owned by absentee landlords who lived ...
Iranian Video Says 12th Imam Islamic Messiah Mahdi is 'Near'
Post Date: 2011-03-28 17:17:34 by Happy Quanzaa
New evidence has emerged that the Iranian government sees the current unrest in the Middle East as a signal that the Mahdi--or Islamic messiah--is about to appear. CBN News has obtained a never-before-seen video produced by the Iranian regime that says all the signs are moving into place -- and that Iran will soon help usher in the end times. While the revolutionary movements gripping the Middle East have created uncertainty throughout the region, the video shows that the Iranian regime believes the chaos is divine proof that their ultimate victory is at hand. The propaganda footage has reportedly been approved at the highest levels of the Iranian government. It's called The ...
Pastor Accused of Denying Communion to Churchgoers Who Didn't Give Tax Refunds
Post Date: 2011-03-17 15:30:41 by Ferret Mike
Members of a small Baptist congregation in Texas say their pastor denied them communion after they refused to give him their tax refunds, MyFoxHouston.com reports. Parishioners at the Houston Unity Baptist Church claim the pastor, John Goodman, asked members of his congregation to hand over their tax refunds to the church. "He said for all those who are getting a tax refund, 'How many are you are going to give it to the church?'" said one church member, who spoke to the station on condition of anonymity. Goodman has admitted to denying his congregation communion but said he did so because church members overall have failed to support the church financially -- like ...
The Christian obsession towards conversion

-- The world thinks that Muslims have an obsession towards Martyrdom, but they have failed to realise that CHRISTIANS HAVE AN OBSESSION TOWARDS CONVERSION(Proselytism). -------- This is to broaden awareness of the problem of conversion of Hindus to Christianity by coercion and other unethical and illegal methods in South India. There is nothing spiritual or Intellectual in their conversion practices. ------------------ how the missionaries convert people by deceiving them all in the name GOD for more www.christianaggression.com www.crusadewatch.org
HUFFINGTON POST: Why Evangelicals Hate Jesus (White Evangelical Christians polled on actual teachings of Jesus)

This article was co-authored by Dan Cady is an assistant professor of history at California State University, Fresno. He publishes on the history of the American West, music, and religion.
The results from a recent poll published by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life (http://www.pewforum.org/Politics-and-Elections/Tea-Party-and-Religion.aspx) reveal what social scientists have known for a long time: White Evangelical Christians are the group least likely to support politicians or policies that reflect the actual teachings of Jesus. It is perhaps one of the strangest, most dumb-founding ironies in contemporary American culture. Evangelical Christians, who most fiercely proclaim to ...
Christians and Muslims clash in Cairo, 1 dead
Post Date: 2011-03-08 16:54:01 by A K A Stone
CAIRO Thousands of Christians and Muslims clashed Tuesday, with one Christian man killed and scores wounded as anger rose over the burning of a church in a Cairo suburb. It was the second burst of sectarian fighting in as many days and the latest in a string of violent protests over a variety of topics as simmering unrest continues nearly a month after mass protests led to the ouster of President Hosni Mubarak. The violence erupted after Coptic Christians held protests in several locations in Cairo against perceived persecution by the country's Muslim majority. The Christians have been angered by last week's burning by a Muslim mob of a church in a Cairo suburb. ...
Pakistan's minorities gripped by fear and despair

LONDON - As a teenager in Karachi, the southern port city of Pakistan, much of my time was spent as a pedestrian. I absorbed the trends and culture of this diverse city, gathering sermons, dialects, laughter, aspirations, love and hatred during my walks. With 18 million residents, Karachi is the worlds third most populous city by some counts. Residents include Muslims, Hindus, Christians and fire-worshipping Zoroastrians and it teems with different ethnicities, including Afghans, Bengalis, Burmese, Chinese, Sri Lankans, Filipinos and Iranians. I was lucky enough to experience it first hand: I have watched Muslims running barefoot to mosques for prayers, Christians worshipping in ...
What Do The Muslim Brotherhood And The Ultra-Orthodox Religious-Right Have In Common?
Post Date: 2011-02-13 18:36:58 by Brian S
Israelis complain about the Muslim Brotherhood, but fail to take on rabbis whose rhetoric is no less incendiary. By Anshel Pfeffer A few months from now, Egypt may come under the rule of a government dominated by the Muslim Brotherhood, whose supreme spiritual leader said just a few years ago that God would "destroy the seed of the Jews and extirpate them from the world. These Jews are accursed scoundrels, crying crocodile tears while they murder people; it is forbidden to have any mercy on them. We have to destroy them with great missiles." And if you think this is populist scare-mongering, and that this represents only one benighted faction of the popular ...
Christian Writer: Muslim Brotherhood 'Similar' To U.S. Evangelicals
Post Date: 2011-02-11 20:40:13 by Brian S
A Christianity Today guest columnist has a surprising take on Egypt's future and how the nation's Christians might be better off if the Muslim Brotherhood takes a major role in the next government. That seems unexpected in the same online CT edition that features a different article on Copts, the major Christian group and victims of recent deadly attacks, who are watching developments with fear. Their reporter in Cairo thinks lovely pictures of last week of Copts and Muslims arm in arm are an anomoly. But the more controversial opinion piece comes from Bob Kubinec, identified as a "consultant" who has researched "religious and political issues in Egypt and Jordan, and ...
Senate Passes Bill to Teach Bible in Kentucky Schools
Post Date: 2011-02-10 02:04:21 by Murron
Senate Passes Bill to Teach Bible in Kentucky Schools FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Bible classes could be taught in Kentucky public schools under a bill that's made it halfway through the legislature. The Senate voted 34-1 to approve the measure on Wednesday. Under the Kentucky proposal, Bible courses would be offered as electives, meaning students could decide whether to take them. Republican Sen. Joe Bowen of Owensboro, the bill's sponsor, said the intention is to acquaint students with a book that has had tremendous impact on American society and western culture. Democratic Sen. Kathy Stein of Lexington said the measure is unnecessary because nothing currently prohibits Kentucky ...
New Catholic Bible Deletes ‘Cereal,’ ‘Booty’ And ‘Holocaust’
Post Date: 2011-02-07 18:01:19 by Brian S
It's not the first time Catholics have tried to modernize the Bible but it may be the oddest. The New American Bible Revised Edition (NABRE), which was set to make its debut on Ash Wednesday, March 9, aimed to make the text easier to understand by making a number of little tweaks, both subtle and obvious, in hopes of making it easier to read. Among them, deleting the words "cereal," "booty" and, oddly enough, "holocaust," was said to have taken place to help people better understand scripture. Catholic translations of the Bible go back to 1582 when the Douay-Rheims Bible was published. The first edition of the New American Bible was published in 1970. ...
NY Muslim TV station owner promotes "cultural understanding", beheads wife

Jury convicts NY TV executive of beheading wife The founder of a Muslim-oriented New York television station has been convicted of beheading his wife in 2009. Muzzammil "Mo" Hassan never denied that he killed Aasiyah Hassan inside the suburban Buffalo station the couple established to promote cultural understanding. A jury on Monday rejected his claim he was the victim of spousal abuse. Hassan acted as his own lawyer during the trial in Buffalo. The Pakistan-born Hassan has been in custody since Feb. 12, 2009, when he walked into the Orchard Park police station and told officers his wife was dead. Her decapitated body was found at the studios of Bridges TV in town. The ...
Plymouth-Canton School District in Michigan allows students to wear kirpan daggers to class
Post Date: 2011-02-01 22:16:40 by Ferret Mike
Zahrasyed/FlickrA kirpan is a dagger or sword, and must be worn by baptised Sikhs. A school district in Michigan says it's okay for kids to bring daggers to school - but there are a few rules. The first rule is you have to be baptized as a Sikh. The decision by the Plymouth-Canton School District was put into effect on Monday, reversing a ban established in December, when a fourth-grade student brought a three- to five-inch weapon to Bentley Elementary School. The kirpan, which can be a dagger or a sword, must be worn by baptized Sikhs at all times. "It's a religious symbol," local community leader Tejkiran Singh told WJBK Fox 2 News in Detroit. "It just ...

New mosque big'soutrageous teachings sparkrenewed criticism The new imam at the Ground Zero mosque and cultural center believes people who are gay were probably abused as children and that people who leave Islam and preach a new religion should be jailed. Abdallah Adhami's remarks on homosexuals, religious freedom and other topics have brought renewed criticism of the proposed community center and mosque near the World Trade Center site, which purports to be an inclusive organization. Faithful Facebook: Pope Benedict Blesses Social Networking
Post Date: 2011-01-26 13:16:14 by Hondo68
Pope Benedict XVI may be old, but he's still with it. Wracked with Catholic guilt every time you access Facebook? Worry no longer -- the Pope approves. In a message entitled "Truth, Proclamation and Authenticity of Life in the Digital Age," Pope Benedict XVI gave social networking his blessing, but warned that it cannot replace real human contact. The proclamation, created for the Catholic Church's World Day of Communications, noted, "I would like then to invite Christians, confidently and with an informed and responsible creativity, to join the network of relationships which the digital era has made possible." The pontiff encouraged social networkers to be ...
Churches Find End Is Nigh

The Number of Religious Facilities Unable to Pay Their Mortgage Is Surging ROSEVILLE, Calif.Residential and commercial real-estate owners aren't the only ones losing their properties to foreclosure. The past few years have seen a rapid acceleration in the number of churches losing their sanctuaries because they can't pay the mortgage. Just as homeowners borrowed too much or built too big during boom times, many churches did the same and now are struggling as their congregations shrink and collections fall owing to rising unemployment and a weak economy. Since 2008, nearly 200 religious facilities have been foreclosed on by banks, up from eight during the previous two years ...
Aharon Friedman, Capitol Hill Staffer Who Won't Grant Wife Jewish Divorce
Post Date: 2011-01-05 18:03:07 by sneakypete
It sounds like a dark fairy tale from the Brothers Grimm: A young and lovely woman marries a successful young man. A daughter arrives. But the story takes a turn. The couple quarrel. The young bride flees with the baby daughter to her parents. Then the young man casts a spell, condemning the woman to a life in chains; not with him, not with anyone. No more family. Take a little literary license with the spell and you've got the story of Aharon Friedman and Tamar Epstein, Orthodox Jews who divorced through Maryland civil courts -- in what sounds like an entirely uncivil manner -- but who have not yet been divorced by a Beit Din, a Jewish Rabbinical court. The reason is that Friedman, ...
