18 Reasons Why I Don’t Celebrate Halloween
Post Date: 2015-10-29 08:39:45 by Deckard
This year, 64 percent of all Americans will celebrate Halloween, but I will not be one of them. For me, it is a wretched, horrible holiday that celebrates the darkest side of humanity, and it is deeply rooted in ancient pagan traditions that would get people thrown in prison if they attempted to duplicate them today. With each passing year, the sexually suggestive costumes being marketed to our young girls become even skankier, the horror movies become darker and even more demonic, and the number of Americans that participate in occult ceremonies just continues to grow. In fact, it has been estimated that the number of self-identified witches in the United States is doubling every 30 ...
The Synod’s final report is a victory for liberals on homosexuality – here’s why
Post Date: 2015-10-27 00:12:29 by redleghunter
ROME, October 26, 2015 (LifeSiteNews) -- The truth of the Catholic Church regarding homosexuality is so far removed from the mainstream medias debates over same-sex marriage it is nearly impossible to achieve an accurate reading of the Synods final document (Relazione Finale) without an in depth understanding of the Churchs teaching in this regard. The most essential and basic teaching is that homosexual acts are gravely sinful, which means they separate the perpetrator from God and can lead to eternal damnation. (Naturally the inclination to commit homosexual acts popularly called a homosexual orientation is not sinful, just as the temptation to ...
Trump Knocks Carson as a Seventh Day Adventist as Iowa Polls Shift
Post Date: 2015-10-26 13:19:52 by Hondo68
© Scott Morgan / Reuters Until now, Donald Trump and Ben Carson have been content to co-exist as the two Republican outsiders dominating the presidential campaign scene. Together, the bombastic billionaire real estate executive and the eerily soft-spoken former neurosurgeon have shared about half of the overall Republican support in the presidential sweepstakes while the other candidates have languished with single digit showings in the polls. But as Trump and Carson prepare for another crucial Republican presidential debate in Boulder, Colorado on Wednesday, the gloves are definitely coming off. Goodbye, Biden—And Goodbye, White Catholic Democrats

JFK Inaugural: "The torch has been passed..." Poor Joe Biden knew he is not the man for this hour. He may be another Irish Catholic, but the Democratic brand went to hell somewhere between him and JFK. As the spell-binding young JFK rose to give his 1961 inaugural address on TV, my Catholic mother told me that the U.S. was the best country in the world. Let the word go forth, Kennedy said, from this time and place, to friend and foe alike that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americansborn in this century, tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace, proud of our ancient heritageand unwilling to witness or permit the ...
The KJV in Order [Full Thread]

A K A Stone, I told you I would stop posting until I could fully answer you, and I meant it. I'm not going to recriminate. You said plenty that made my blood boil, but I've decided to take it as sincere concern for what I've said, as opposed to simply trying to bait me. You've said many times that I don't provide Scripture. I have, but to the extent that I have not provided enough. this e-mail will remedy that. I've agreed to use the KJV, and just that. No Hebrew, no Greek, no outside interpretive Scripture translations. The KJV has no footnotes, sp there will be no wrangling between us over the authority of footnotes that are not there. It's just the text, ...

The Friction of Faith
Post Date: 2015-10-20 00:29:50 by redleghunter
Several months ago, in an introductory sermon to the book of Acts, I made some observations about the culture in which early Christians lived: It was brutal, totally pagan, and openly anti-Christian. There was no affirmation of morality or any sort of cultural Christianity. Early believers were aliens to everything in society. Whats more, Christians had no governmental advocacy or special protections, and so unrestrained persecution was happening all over the place. Proclaimers of the gospel essentially became martyrs. To embrace Christ often meant signing ones own death warrant. What was the church doing that caused such resentment, hostile treatment, and persecution? ...
Sodom: Has Biblical City Of Sin Been Found?
Post Date: 2015-10-17 15:16:37 by redleghunter
The location of the original city of sin, Sodom - destroyed by fire and brimstone according to the Bible - may have been discovered in Jordan. Archaeologists excavating the Tall el Hammam site say it was a major Bronze Age city-state and matches "every Sodom criterion". Steven Collins and his team have been at the "monstrous" site since 2005 and have discovered palace structures, towers and formidable defences. Sodom and the neighbouring city of Gomorrah were destroyed by God, according to the Book of Genesis, because their inhabitants were riddled by sin and depravity. The final judgement was delivered after angels, disguised as men, were unable to find just 10 ...
Archbishop Cupich lays out pathway for gay couples to receive Communion at Vatican press scrum
Post Date: 2015-10-16 15:06:16 by redleghunter
ROME, October 16, 2015 (LifeSiteNews) -- Archbishop Blase Cupich of Chicago who is participating in the Synod of the Family at Pope Francis personal invitation said at a press scrum in the Vatican press office this afternoon that the conscience is "inviolable" and that he believes divorced and remarried couples could be permitted to receive the sacraments, if they have "come to a decision" to do so "in good conscience" - theological reasoning that he indicated in response to a follow-up question would also apply to gay couples. During the lengthy press briefing, the archbishop also spoke approvingly of the so-called "Kasper ...

The Economics of God (Continued)
Post Date: 2015-09-26 21:51:57 by Vicomte13
Elsewhere, we have been discussing economics and taxation. Poverty relief is one of our duties as Christians. It is disheartening to read on so many threads the most vicious contempt leveled at the poor. That is to be expected of pagans and seculars, but Christians should know better. Sometimes we forget ourselves, but this thread has been revived to remind us that poverty relief was the purpose of the largest of the taxes God imposed on ancient Israel, and it is a commandment to Christians from Jesus Christ. Seculars will always be hateful towards anything that costs money and does not seem to benefit them, but they love and serve money, not God. Christians should be reminded of ...
Was Ben Carson Wrong To Say “No” To A Muslim President?
Post Date: 2015-09-25 09:13:39 by nativist nationalist
Beliefs matter. Ideas Have Consequences, as conservative scholar Richard Weaver wrote in his classic of that title in 1948. Yet, for so believing, and so saying, Dr. Ben Carson has been subjected to a Rodney King-style night-sticking by the P.C. police. Asked by Chuck Todd on Meet the Press whether he could support a Muslim for president, Carson replied, I would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation. I absolutely would not agree with that. Carson was not out of the studio before the airwaves were filled with denunciations. Nihad Awad, [Send him mail] executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said CAIR is ...
Is the Pope a False Prophet?
Post Date: 2015-09-24 16:22:44 by Hondo68
Congressman Thomas Massie, R-Ky., has invited me to the House of Representatives to watch Pope Francis address a joint session of Congress. This generous Methodist congressman has invited your traditionalist Roman Catholic columnist and cable TV guy to this grand event. I am going with joy because the pope is the Vicar of Christ on Earth, and his presence in Congress is historically unique. But within me is fear and trembling over what he might say. The papacy is an office created personally by Our Lord. Its occupants are direct descendants of St. Peter. Its role and authorities have evolved over the centuries, but the core of its responsibilities has always been the preservation of ...
A Solution For The Same-Sex Marriage Problem
Post Date: 2015-09-24 13:38:07 by Hondo68
Right now, the liberty movement is divided almost in half between those favoring the SCOTUS ruling legalizing same-sex marriage and those opposed (count me in the opposed camp). So, right now, the liberty movement is completely stymied over this issue. The only ones who win in such a case are big-government Orwellians. To be sure, the SCOTUS decision to legalize same-sex marriage was the result of decades of relentless propaganda from the national news media, liberal politicians, and college professors throughout America. Think about it: what do Anthony Kennedy, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Elena Kagan, Stephen Breyer, and Sonia Sotomayor know that John Locke, Thomas More, Emer de ...
Fiorina: Let’s Have A Muslim President
Post Date: 2015-09-23 11:17:42 by nativist nationalist
Carly Fiorina has supplied yet another reason she should not get anywhere near the White House. Forget about her supporting the DREAM Act, although thats bad enough. She thinks a Muslim should be president. Responding to Ben Carsons belief that Muslim should not be president, Fiorina explained where Carson erred to Jimmy Fallon: Jimmy Fallon: Ben Carson is in a lot of trouble now because he is saying that he would not advocate a Muslim being president. Carly Fiorina: Well, I think thats wrong. It says in our Constitution that religion cannot be a test for office. Its also true that this country was founded on the principle that we judge each individual and that ...
Come Again? NYT Headline: 'In Pelosi, Strong Catholic Faith and Abortion Rights Coexist'
Post Date: 2015-09-22 14:23:10 by redleghunter
The New York Times' Jennifer Steinhauer celebrated the faith of the fiercely pro-abortion former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California on Wednesday, under a laugher of a headline, "At Divisive Moment, Pelosis Faith Coexists With Belief in Abortion Rights." The online headline was even "stronger" in silliness: "In Pelosi, Strong Catholic Faith and Abortion Rights Coexist." Steinhauer strove mightily to portray left-wing pro-choice, pro-gay marriage Pelosi as an unconflicted Catholic, despite her position on abortion, considered a mortal sin by the Church but which Pelosi sees as "ancillary to her unwavering faith," according to the ...
Left Turns On Bill Maher And Richard Dawkins For Noticing Problems With #IStandWithAhmed
Post Date: 2015-09-22 01:35:12 by nativist nationalist
As we saw when Swedish leftists angrily denounced a gay pride parade because it might provoke Muslims, so-called progressives dont really believe in their own causes. Its just something that is used to attack people they dont like, usually White Christians. Politics is about who, not what. The #IStandWithAhmed fable wasnt about overzealous school officials or law enforcement. If that had been the focus of the story, people would have brought up all the white kids who keep getting suspended for doing things like making a gun out of a pop tart or wearing an American flag shirt. Instead, it was about engaging in a Two Minutes Hate against ...
US and Catholicism in Crisis
Post Date: 2015-09-22 01:15:27 by nativist nationalist
Pope Francis shakes hands with Fidel Castro. During the 1950s, the twin pillars of worldwide anti-communism were Dwight Eisenhowers America and the Roman Catholic Church of Pope Pius XII. During the 1980s, the last decade of the Cold War, Ronald Reagan and the Polish pope, John Paul II, were the pillars of resistance. When Pope Francis arrives in Washington on Tuesday afternoon, the country he enters will be a very different one from Eisenhowers America or Reagans America. And Catholics will be welcoming a new kind of pope. In America 2015, homosexuality, abortion on demand and same-sex marriage shameful crimes in Ikes America, mortal sins in the catechism ...
Ben Carson's bizarre comments about Muslims and the Constitution, explained...
Post Date: 2015-09-21 20:00:24 by tpaine
www.vox.com Ben Carson's bizarre comments about Muslims and the Constitution, explained It shouldn't have been a hard question. On Sunday's Meet the Press, Chuck Todd asked Ben Carson, "Should a Presidents faith matter?" Carson's answer was comfortingly banal. "Well, I guess it depends on what that faith is," he replied. "If its inconsistent with the values and principles of America, then of course it should matter. But if it fits within the realm of America and consistent with the Constitution, no problem." But Todd had a follow-up. "So do you believe that Islam is consistent with the Constitution?" And then Carson ...
Carson doubles down on no Muslims in the White House

Carson doubles down on no Muslims in the White House BY JONATHAN EASLEY Republican presidential hopeful Ben Carson is standing by his view that a Muslim should not be president of the United States, telling The Hill in an interview on Sunday that whoever takes the White House should be sworn in on a stack of Bibles, not a Koran. ADVERTISEMENT Carson ignited a media firestorm in a Sunday morning interview with Chuck Todd on "Meet the Press," in which he said he would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation. I absolutely would not agree with that, Carson said. In an interview with The Hill, Carson opened up about why he ...

blogs.wsj.com Trump Doesnt Refute Comment on Obama, Muslims At his first post-debate campaign event, Republican front-runner Donald Trump on Thursday declined to refute a questioner who declared that Muslims are a problem in America and reiterated the long-debunked rumor that President Barack Obama is a Muslim. The first question to Mr. Trump at a town hall rally in Rochester, N.H., came from a man who asserted, Weve got a problem in this country, its called Muslims. We know the president is one. He added: You know hes not even an American. The questioner went on to ask Mr. Trump what he would do to address Muslim ...
Hillary Clinton showed up for church today. Will faith help or hurt her on the campaign?
Post Date: 2015-09-13 15:45:54 by buckeroo
Speaking from a Methodist pulpit on Sunday morning, Hillary Clinton explained her political vision with a reference to the classic Sunday school song This Little Light of Mine. Too many people, she said, want to let their light shine, but they cant get out from under that bushel basket. It is way too heavy to lift alone. And thats where the community comes in. It is the 200th anniversary of Foundry United Methodist Church in Washington, where the Clintons worshiped regularly when Bill Clinton was president. Hillary Clinton spoke during the bicentennial celebration Sunday about how her faith and faith community have shaped her. She spoke of ...
