THE DISTURBING GROUPTHINK OVER THE WAR IN UKRAINE
Post Date: 2023-03-08 21:01:10 by Charles_Byrd

THERE IS A disturbing aspect to the discourse in Washington, D.C., and European capitals surrounding the war in Ukraine that seeks to quash any dissent from the official narrative surrounding NATO’s military support for Ukraine. As the world was thrust into Cold War 2.0, the Western commentariat dusted off the wide brush wielded for decades by the cold warriors of old, labeling critics of the policy of massive weapons transfers to Ukraine or unquestioning support for the government of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as Russian stooges or puppets. This is a dangerous trend that encourages groupthink over a potentially nuclear conflict. Citizens have every right to question the role of ...

Money Supply Growth Went Negative for the Third Month in a Row, and Is Near a 35-Year Low

Money supply growth fell again in January, falling even further into negative territory after turning negative in November 2022 for the first time in twenty-eight years. January's drop continues a steep downward trend from the unprecedented highs experienced during much of the past two years. Since April 2021, money supply growth has slowed quickly, and since November, we've been seeing the money supply contract for the first time since the 1990s. The last time the year-over-year (YOY) change in the money supply slipped into negative territory was in November 1994. At that time, negative growth continued for fifteen months, finally turning positive again in January 1996. Click for ...

The rate of pregnancy with multiples– twins, triplets, or more – has increased in Canada over the past two decades. Generally, this shift is attributed to women becoming mothers when they are older, with an increased use of fertility treatments that boost the odds of pregnancy with multiples. In 2021 there were just shy of 11,000 live multiple births in Canada. The key word there, however, is births. Researcher Patricia Maloney recently highlighted those who didn’t make it that far due to the sinister reality of sibling abortions. Click for Full Text!

Oklahoma voters will decide Tuesday whether to make the state one of the most conservative to green light cannabis use for adults. State Question 820, the result of a signature gathering drive last year, is the only item on the statewide ballot. Other conservative states have legalized recreational cannabis use, including Montana in 2020 and Missouri last year, but several have rejected it, including Arkansas, North Dakota and South Dakota. China’s trade contracted again in January and February as U.S. and European demand weakened in the face of interest rate hikes, adding to pressure on official efforts to revive economic growth following the end of anti-virus controls. Exports sank 6.8% from a year earlier to $506.3 billion, an improvement over December’s 10.1% decline, customs data showed Tuesday. Imports fell 10.2% to $389.4 billion, deepening December’s 7.3% contraction. Click for Full Text!

American lawmakers must be "very thoughtful" before agreeing to a plan to use U.S. troops against drug cartels in Mexico, Rep. Rich McCormick, R- Ga., said Tuesday on Newsmax in response to a plan by Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C. "I just want to be careful that when we commit our troops, men and women in arms, that we're very thoughtful about that," McCormick said on Newsmax's "American Agenda." "I think too often we have a knee-jerk reaction that we're going to solve the world's problems by committing American troops. These are our sons and daughters." Click for Full Text!

Wyoming Legislature passes two pro-life bills, on the desk of Gov. Gordon

Now that the legislature has adjourned, Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon has 15 days to decide the fate of pro-life House Bill 152. The legislature tried to thread the needle in passing a bill that addresses a judge’s criticism of an earlier bill—HB52—which resulted in him granted a preliminary injunction. In 2021, the legislature passed a “trigger law” which was to take effect when and if Roe v. Wade was overturned. The Supreme Court did so in its Dobbs decision, handed down on June 24, 2022. But in August Wyoming Judge Melissa Owen granted a preliminary injunction halting enforcement of the law. Click for Full Text!

In December, a German music magazine called VAN published claims that Robert Beaser, a professor at Juilliard since 1993 and chair of its composition department from 1994 to 2018, committed non-tactile sexual harassment against female students and offered assistance with professional advancement in a quid pro quo for possible romantic relations. Beaser’s late colleague Christopher Rouse, who died in 2019, was posthumously accused of similar conduct, and his living colleague, the composer John Corigliano, is alleged to have adopted a discriminatory policy of not working with female students. Brandon Judd to Newsmax: Biden Policies Emboldening Mexican Cartels
Post Date: 2023-03-07 19:06:43 by Charles_Byrd

The lawlessness on the southern border caused by the policies of the Biden Administration is what allowed for more extreme actions from Mexican cartels, such as the kidnapping of four American citizens last week, two of whom have now been found dead, National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd told Newsmax on Tuesday. Judd told Newsmax's "John Bachman Now" that "what really scares me about this is [the cartels' kidnappings were] in broad daylight. It was within a mile of the U.S.-Mexico border and it clearly shows that the Mexico government does not have any control whatsoever of what is happening on their own side of the border." Academia’s Feminocracy Is Real — and It’s Killing Education and Freedom
Post Date: 2023-03-07 19:04:25 by Charles_Byrd

“The future is female,” the feminist rallying cry goes. If this is true, the future is “now” in academia, and if academia is any indication, the future is also something else: bleak. This conclusion could be drawn from a recent article, “In Loco Masculi,” by Manhattan Institute fellow Heather Mac Donald. In it she reports on a most ironic development: While the university system was created by men and for men, its feminization is now “all but complete.” The problem is that, far from the “gentler” sex’s dominance creating a kinder, gentler, college experience, research shows that female faculty are fostering academic tyranny. Last week in a federal courtroom at the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, an American physician hired by the Pentagon testified about the CIA‘s use of rectal “feeding” tubes on prisoners it detained and tortured in Thailand from 2001 to 2006. The physician, Dr. Sondra S. Crosby, an expert on torture and other trauma, described the painful repeated insertion of plastic tubes into the anal cavity of the defendant in the case, Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, over a period of four years. Al-Nashiri is on trial for conspiracy to bomb the USS Cole in October 2000. Click for Full Text!

Today, the Right to Life of Michigan Political Action Committee (RLM- PAC) announced it has rescinded the endorsements of two first-term state elected officials after their March 2 votes to pass a sweeping repeal of the 1931 abortion law. State Representative Donni Steele of the 54th District and State Representative Thomas Kuhn of the 57th District voted with proabortion Democrats to repeal MCL 750.14, better known as the 1931 abortion law. This law has been in place and partially effective even under Roe v. Wade, containing critical portions that remain constitutional in the wake of Proposal 3. Proposal 3 states that “the state may regulate the provision of abortion care after fetal ...

Biden’s ESG: The BlackRock-Davos-UN Agenda Gets Smacked by Congress, States, Markets

Opposition to “woke” ESG corporatism is snowballing, as Joe Biden and Larry Fink found out this past week. Fink is the billionaire CEO of BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager with $8 trillion under management. He is also one of Biden’s biggest boosters and the most prominent corporate promoter of ESG, the controversial rating system that is pushing companies to adopt “progressive” Soros-style policies rather than carry out their legal and fiduciary responsibilities to their shareholders. ESG, which stands for Environment, Social, and Governance, is a scheme aimed at pressuring businesses into joining the politically correct stampede on climate change, ...

Belgian women euthanised for extreme psychological suffering

Wherever euthanasia is debated, the clincher argument is that it will spare a patient agonising pain in a terminal illness. But as these cases from Belgium suggest, euthanasia deaths are being used as an escape route from the aftermath of crime by both victims and criminals. And women may be particularly susceptible. Sixteen years to the day when five of her children died, on February 28, 56-year-old Genevieve Lhermitte, was euthanised. Euthanasia for unbearable psychological suffering has become normalised in Belgium, but this case was different. Click for Full Text!
