The NYPD has a hard time hiring black men to become police officers because too many have criminal records, the city’s top cop said in an interview.  NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton said it’s a challenge to find hirable blacks because so many African-American men have been arrested. “We have a significant population gap among African-American males because so many of them have spent time in jail and, as such, we can’t hire them,” Bratton said in an interview published Tuesday by The Guardian, a British newspaper with a New York bureau. Bratton put at least part of the blame on the NYPD’s use of the controversial tactic stop-and-frisk, according to The ...

Casebolt's lawyer informed FOX4 of Casebolt's decision. The video of the Friday incident involving Casebolt at a McKinney neighborhood pool went viral and had initially landed Casebolt on administrative leave while police officials conduct an investigation. Casebolt was seen pulling Dajerria Becton to the ground and pinning her with his knees while she cried out. He also pulled out his gun and pointed it at other teens and briefly ran after them before being stopped by two fellow McKinney police officers. ...

"He told me to keep walking," Dajerria Becton, 15, told Fox 4. "And I kept walking and then I'm guessing he thought we were saying rude stuff to him." Becton was then thrown to the ground by Eric Casebolt, one of 12 McKinney Police Department officers who responded to the disturbance call at a private community pool Friday night. He grabbed ...

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Jurors on Friday convicted a female Los Angeles police officer of felony assault for repeatedly kicking a handcuffed woman who later died. The jury of 11 women and one man reached its verdict after about two days of deliberations in the trial of Officer Mary O'Callaghan, 50. She pleaded not guilty to assaulting a civilian in the 2012 arrest of Alesia Thomas, 35. Dressed in a black pantsuit, O'Callaghan wiped her face, appearing to cry after the verdict was read. Robert Rico, O'Callaghan's attorney, said he plans to appeal and ask for a new trial. "I firmly believe the evidence presented by the prosecution did not show her force was ...

Calvert, Texas – Retired municipal court judge David Viscarde has recently come forward to expose the use of quotas on speeding tickets. In an exclusive interview this week, Viscarde told WFAA that the police department and the local courts were involved in a revenue collection scheme where officers had quotas for speeding tickets, and judges were pressured to rush the cases through the courts. Viscarde was a volunteer municipal court judge for over 15 years. “When I first became a judge, we had one reserve officer. That’s all he did on Friday and Saturday every other weekend. He’d write 100 citations,” Viscarde said. “Their municipal court is their cash ...

By all eye-witness accounts 17-year-old Laquan McDonald was unarmed when Chicago police officers shot and killed him. But since the shooting occurred, police apologists have asserted that the surveillance video of the incident would clear everything up. But instead of clarifying what happened, the footage actually appears to have been tampered with. Once released, it was quickly noticed that the footage had 86 minutes deleted from the security camera video. The camera was from a Burger King restaurant which is located less than 100 yards from where the shooting occurred. That placed it in a prime location to catch the fatal shooting of 17-year old Laquan McDonald. McDonald was shot a ...

A Georgia mother and substitute teacher says she was arrested and placed in shackles because of her son's unexcused absences. Julie Giles reportedly wrote on Facebook that a warrant had been issued for her arrest after her son tallied 12 unexcused absences from school. The total is six more than the Screven County school district allows. Giles argued that her son's doctor re-issued a note for three of the absences, meaning she would be arrested over a total of three absences. Giles said she was briefly placed in ankle shackles, with police saying it was normal procedure. "Actually I was not fingerprinted, but I was shackled and they took my mug shot, which will be in our ...

This insightful and impassioned public commentary was written and posted to Facebook by William James Manifold.  It is a powerful commentary that we felt needed to be repeated. Something along the lines of "Why do people have to hashtag when in mourning that certain lives matter…all lives matter". This comment was obviously in response to the community outpouring of support for Ofc. Kerrie Orozco who ended her watch yesterday afternoon. FOP Publishes Essay Saying #AllLivesMatter is “BullS**t” - Insists that Only “Blue Lives” Matter

William Norman Grigg “All lives don’t matter,” insists former police officer William James Manifold in an essay that was republished by the Colorado Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP). Although “all lives have the potential to matter,” Manifold explains, “most certainly all lives don’t matter.” For him, and other active and retired members of the Sanctified Fraternity of State-Licensed Violence, it is an unassailable truth that “Blue Lives Matter,” and that mere Mundanes should literally prostrate themselves in worship before their costumed overseers: “[B]y whatever God you worship or don’t, by all things holy, ...

When a citizen journalist recently sent us a tip about an officer who was caught having sex with cows, we were admittedly skeptical. But it turns out that the case of former Moorestown police officer Robert Melia Jr. is just as bad as it sounds. In Mount Holly, New Jersey, Officer Melia was indeed caught sexually assaulting a cow, but his sexual crimes did not end with non-humans. Melia was also charged, several years ago, with sexually assaulting three girls. It was during the course of that investigation that police found a video in Melia’s home that recorded him… abusing multiple cows. Apparently he was so proud of this abuse that he filmed it and saved it for posterity. The ...
