John Weed was attending the Great Frederick Fair in Maryland on Friday with his family when he was approached by the teens, ages 15 and 16. According to the prosecution, the 15-year-old sucker-punched Weed after he refused to give them a dollar, knocking him unconscious. Op-Ed by Gaye Levy, Strategic Living As a point of reference, when I first started blogging in 2010, I had a lot of angst over the meltdown of certain financial institutions, unjustified taxpayer-funded government bailouts, the real or perceived violation of our Bill of Rights, and the forward march of socialism in the United States. The antidote for me was to embrace preparedness, learn situational awareness, and to become a voice for others with similar concerns. Let us fast forward to today. The good news is that I am as prepared as I can be with an abundance of stored food, water, and supplies in two separate locations. After losing a good portion of my retirement ...

(CNN)Rep. Justin Amash, the only congressional Republican who publicly argues that President Donald Trump has engaged in impeachable conduct, announced Thursday he is quitting the GOP."Today, I am declaring my independence and leaving the Republican Party," Amash wrote in a Washington Post op-ed Thursday morning. "No matter your circumstance, I'm asking you to join me in rejecting the partisan loyalties and rhetoric that divide and dehumanize us. I'm asking you to believe that we can do better than this two-party system and to work toward it. If we continue to take America for granted, we will lose it." Amash didn't mention the President by name, but ...
Close One: This Baby Was Almost Born Into Poverty But His Mother Killed Him In The Nick Of Time
Post Date: 2019-05-18 07:42:19 by IbJensen
(Watch the video at the link) Talk about a close call: this baby was almost born into poverty, but his mother killed him just before the cutoff for abortion in their state. With literally just a few days to spare, she ended his life, saving him from living a life that isn't always perfect. Whew! Can you imagine if this kid was forced to live his life poor? Poor means not having a lot of money, and sometimes having to go without things. It means a hard life: one of struggle and difficulty. It means sometimes you worry about making rent or buying groceries. It's really hard being poor. It's a good thing his mom killed him to save him from all that! Thanks, mom!

Post Date: 2019-04-27 13:01:12 by Liberator
This incredibly well preserved World War 2 U.S. Army Field Ration Type C B-Unit was one of the main MRE components for the war effort. Mass produced at over 1 Billion, 300 Million B-units in 1942 alone, it was an iconic part of the U.S. Soldier's diet of WW2.
Poster Comment:Awesome. Fascinating. Good stuff. 1942 MRE Army ration was cracked open. Very thoughtful and creatively how these MREs were packed and preserved. Would you eat any component of a 20 year old MRE? 30? 50? This was 75 years old.

The 6 Types of People That Will Die First When SHTF
Post Date: 2019-01-27 23:34:42 by Hondo68
We all like to believe that wed fare well if a disaster hit. At least, those of us who think about disaster preparedness believe that theyd survive (the rest arent even willing to admit that a disaster could impact them!). A lot has already been written and debated about the people who will die first when SHTF. Most fixate on people like the physically weak, children, disabled, elderly, and yuppies. But I dont want to focus on those standard weaknesses here! I firmly believe that anyone regardless of health or physical ability can survive a disaster with the right amount of planning. Sure, it is going to take a lot more prepping than for some other ...

Many of you intrepid souls will brave the federally controlled and therefore threatening skies these next weeks. Foremost among aviations dangers is the TSA. But as you run the Thieves and Sexual Assailants gauntlet, take heart: these pervs not only abuse one anotherthough only a smidgen as much as they do us, alas, they also hate their accomplices almost as venomously as we do. Its old news that the TSA consistently ranks among the worst government agencies for employee morale. Observers attribute that malaise to poor leadership, unsatisfactory conditions, low pay or anything else that ignores the actual cause: empowering losers to ...
Why Nobody Trusts the FBI… And That’s a Good Thing
Post Date: 2018-10-06 08:19:31 by Deckard
When the FBI came out with a report on Hillary Clinton weeks before the 2016 election, Democrats were livid. But so were Republicans
The report said that even though she had committed a crime by negligently using a personal computer for state business, she would not be charged. Democrats later cheered the FBI as the Mueller Probe began investigating Trump. Investigations are the same thing as a guilty verdict, right? And Republicans fumed when it surfaced that two agents exchanged anti-Trump text messages. They even discussed ways to subvert the presidential election and choose the winner! And now Democrats are back to accusing the FBI of being a partisan tool used by ...

Seventy-eight-year-old Mauro Morandi often walks along the rocky shores of Budelli Island and looks out over the disconsolate sea, feeling dwarfed by the phantom forces that tug and twist the tides. We think we are giants that can dominate the Earth, but were just mosquitos, Morandi says. In 1989 on a stretch of water between Sardinia and Corsica, with a crippled engine and anchor adrift, Morandis catamaran was gripped by these same inexorable forces and carried to the shores of Budelli Island. When he learned that its caretaker was retiring from his post in two days, Morandilong disenchanted with societysold the catamaran and took his place. He has ...

David Meade, the self-described specialist in research and investigations, has earned a fair amount of publicity online for predicting that catastrophic events would soon befall Earth. Among his claims: On Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, a constellation a sign prophesied in the Book of Revelation would reveal itself in the skies over Jerusalem, signaling the beginning of the end of the world as we know it. Meade believes that by the end of October, the world may enter whats called a seven-year tribulation period, a fairly widespread evangelical belief that for seven years, catastrophic events would happen. He also claims that a planet ...

Forbes Says Self-Reliant Homesteaders Are “Delusional” and “Mooching” Off “Civil Society”

By Daisy Luther Its always interesting reading when someone smug and sanctimonious writes a clueless diatribe about another group of people being smug and sanctimonious. So when I saw that an economist for Moodys and Forbes had written an op-ed calling self-reliant homesteaders delusional, I knew Id be in for some misinformed hilarity. The article, entitled, Dear Homesteaders, Self-Reliance Is a Delusion was published a couple of days ago on the Forbes website. Youll be forewarned that the article wont be deep in the first paragraph, when the author presents his claim to knowledge about self-reliant living comes from the fact that he is ...
This Story About A Vegetarian Woman's Death Match With A Rabid Raccoon Is Everything
Post Date: 2017-06-15 14:54:21 by Tooconservative
Maine's Bangor Daily News has graciously provided us all with what could prove to officially be the story of the week/month/year/infinity: the harrowing tale of a vegetarian Maine jogger's run-in with a rabid raccoon that started with a pleasant jaunt through the woods on a "beautiful day" and ended with a raccoon belly up in a puddle and a vegetarian haunted by the vision of what she once considered a "cute, cuddly forest animal" but now brings to mind something out of "Pet Sematary." The story begins with 21-year-old jogger and non-eater of meat Rachel Borch hitting the trail for a jog on a warm ...

Your Handy Guide to Camping in Forbidden Places

Under the stars and under the radarSome years ago, when I lived in Flagstaff, Arizona, I answered a knock on the door of my house to find my buddy Bryan and a fellow I'm almost willing to swear was the backwoods character Gabby Johnson from Blazing Saddles. It seemed they'd been cut off by a wildfire from their unauthorized long-term camp at the head of Sycamore Canyon. Did I have any gear to loan them so they could squat elsewhere in the forest? The two ended up living in one of my tents for a couple of months. Several of my friends have been known to throw down a sleeping bag under the radar, often in a place or at a time that violates various regulations. But Bryan, a sometimes ...
