video Malachi Heisler was still rattled Tuesday morning. He covered his face with a bandana as he told us about waking up to the sound of his name being called out around midnight. I heard the words Malachi and help, he said. Hearing the distress, he grabbed his rifle. Then he came face to face with a man, dressed head to toe in tactical gear, holding a gun to his mothers head. I had about 5 to 6 seconds to make a decision, he said. In that time, Heisler says the intruder pointed the gun toward him. But the 18-year-old shot first, hitting the masked man in the head and killing him. That man turned out to be Heislers own father, John. By the ...

Of the 17 Republican hopefuls vying to lead their party into next year's election only Mr Bush and two other candidates do not have their own firearms. Chris Christie, the governor of New Jersey, does not own a gun while Carly Fiorina, a former business executive and the only woman in the race, has six guns in her house but they belong to her husband. Donald Trump owns a handgun. Here he is pictured receiving a ceremonial rifle at a military academy All the other candidates said they had at least one ...

A new assault rifle being manufactured in central Florida has drawn fire after the gunmaker branded it the Crusader and said it was designed to never be used by Muslim terrorists. Spikes Tactical in Apopka etched its new $1,395 AR-15 with a Bible verse that says Blessed be the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle, MyFoxOrlando reported. Company spokesman Ben Thomas, a former Navy SEAL, said the scripture is something of an insurance policy to keep it out of the hands of terrorists. The idea came to him during the weapon's development. At the time, the U.S. government was preparing to arm rebel groups in Syria. ...

Mental Health and the 2nd Amendment By Daniel John Sobieski Despite the undeniable mental issues affecting black, gay Democrat Vester Flanagan, who was not sporting a Confederate flag before he shot and killed his two former KDBJ coworkers, reporter Alison Parker and photojournalist Adam Ward, the fact is that he passed a background check and legally possessed the Glock handgun he used. As much as we all want to prevent the mentally unstable from possessing firearms, the fact is that there was nothing in Flanagans background to prevent him from legally owning a firearm. As NBC News reported: Nothing in Flanagan's background disqualified him from buying a gun. He was arrested ...

On Monday, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) became the latest in a string of Republican presidential candidates to attempt a viral video challenge to Donald Trumps absolute domination of the newshole when he filmed himself making and eating something he called machine gun bacon. Theres just one problem with Cruzs demonstration (aside from the obvious overcompensation), which is that this aint a machine gun: As anyone with even a rudimentary knowledge of firearms can tell you, thats a semi-automatic rifle. In fact, Rachel Maddows show even contacted the gun range where the spot was filmed to confirm that the weapon used was an AR-15 semi-automatic ...

Glock owner in Los Angeles? Good luck with those mags Post Date: 2015-08-03 21:01:58 by GrandIsland

Tuesday the Los Angeles City Council in a surprise move unanimously voted to ban possession of any detachable firearm magazine capable of holding more than ten rounds-- even those grandfathered a generation ago. You see, California in 2000 passed legislation banning new mags of this type, labeling them "high capacity" although they were standard in most models such as the Glock 19 and Glock 17, but allowed those who had them to keep them. Now, this is no more as anyone with a mag holding 10+ will have 60 days to either destroy it, turn it into police, sell it to a dealer (who can only resell it to another dealer or police), plug it or ship it out of the city. Councilman Paul ...

Seeking tighter controls over firearm purchases, the Obama administration is pushing to ban Social Security beneficiaries from owning guns if they lack the mental capacity to manage their own affairs, a move that could affect millions whose monthly disability payments are handled by others. The push is intended to bring the Social Security Administration in line with laws regulating who gets reported to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, or NICS, which is used to prevent gun sales to felons, drug addicts, immigrants in the country illegally and others. A potentially large group within Social Security are people who, in the language of federal gun laws, are unable to ...

The first thing I wanted to know when I saw the Washington Post report of a gunman shooting US Marines in Tennessee was What color gunman? Of course, the story didnt say, although its been updated with the gunmans name (Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez from Kuwait). I think that when MSM reporters are in press conferences, and the spokesman says We cant release the name of the gunman just yet, the reporters should be shouting that question: What color gunman? Because I promise you, people at home are shouting it at their TVs. Anyhow, the killer turns out to have been a Muslim immigrant apparently assimilated right up to the ...

What do you think a mother would say is the greater threat to her child: Russia or guns? I couldnt help but ask myself that question on Friday when I heard the testimony of General Joseph Dunford, President Obamas nominee to be the next Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, before the Senate Armed Services Committee. When Dunford was asked what was the greatest threat to the United States, he responded by ranking them in this order: Russia, China, North Korea, and ISIS. Now, Dunford is undoubtedly correct when it comes to the global threats facing us, and those are the threats its his job to assess. But from a day-to-day perspective, our greatest threat, and Id ...
