Trump’s overseas trips reap goodwill and trade agreements Post Date: 2017-11-19 11:45:58 by Tooconservative

I was told if Donald Trump became president, America would be isolated from the rest of the world. Whether the looming threat of isolation was due to Trumps America First policy on trade or because foreign leaders would be unable to stomach working with the man, America would be doomed. Fortunately, those predictions are proving as wrong as everything else when it comes to conventional political wisdom. In the age of Trump, the opposite is happening. A quick look at Trumps first year in office shows a good bit of travel overseas. To date, he has made four trips internationally and visited 14 countries. Moving forward into 2018, there are already 7 trips overseas planned. The ...

Opium poppy cultivation has hit a record high in Afghanistan, according to a report from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and Afghanistan's Ministry of Counter Narcotics. The milestone is just the latest in a long string of failures associated with Washington's 16-year war in Afghanistan and its even longer ;war on drugs. The U.S. has spent more than $100 billion on reconstruction in Afghanistan since 2002, and more than $8 billion on counternarcotics efforts alone. Yet while 750 hectares of poppy fields have been eradicated there this year, another 328,000 hectares were cultivated in 2017up from 201,000 hectares in 2016. According to the U.N., the average yield ...

A new report claims the Podesta Group did not file as a foreign agent despite lobbying for Uranium One. The Daily Caller News Foundation determined Tony Podestas lobbying firm represented the Russia-owned company during the Obama administration, but did not register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act. The report claims Podesta collected lobbying fees of $180,000 from Uranium One. GOP Congressman Devin Nunes says he is concerned about Poedestas lobbying actives, and the decision not to register under the act. The special counsel has reportedly subpoenaed Podesta who resigned from the firm last month to testify and has requested records from the group.

A Siberian tiger that was exiled a year ago after terrorising residents has completed an Odyssey of more than 400 miles to return to Vladivostok. Dubbed Vladik after a nickname for this port city of 600,000 near Russia's borders with China and North Korea, the tiger came near the village of Yasnoye near Vladivostok airport this week. Scientists have followed him via a GPS collar since he was released in Bikin national park after his capture last year. On the long trip back, Vladik crossed the Trans-Siberian railroad and killed and ate three Himalayan black bears. On Thursday, scientists said he had begun heading north away from the city. The news came as a hunt began for ...

Are there no-go zones in Europe, or aren't there? Have political control and the power of law enforcement in some urban neighborhoods been tacitly turned over to local Muslim leaders, with even the police taking a hands-off attitude? Across Europe, some politicians, journalists, and police spokespeople continue to deny that such zones exist, although the evidence for their existence becomes increasingly difficult to disavow.Even as these establishment functionaries continue to insist that no-go zones are a myth, however, news reports are indicating that in several European countries, the policing problem has advanced beyond the mere fact of no-go zones. Earlier this month, for instance, ...

Remember after that last nuclear test in September, the one which measured 6.3 on the Richter scale, there was a secondary earthquake about 8 minutes later. Experts suggested that was the result of an underground collapse following the blast. The mountain under which North Korea had set off the 100 kiloton nuke was literally falling apart. Today, Japanese media is reporting that there was another big collapse earlier this month, with a tunnel under the mountain caving in and killing 100 workers. Another 100 workers were sent in to get them and they were killed by another collapse. From Fox News: The collapse at the Punggye-ri test site on Oct. 10 occurred while people were doing ...

Two women have been sentenced to a year in jail after it was discovered that they allowed their dog to eat an elderly army veteran alive. According to reports, Hayley Sulley and Della Woods starved their dog for two days before he attacked the 79-year-old Clifford Clarke. Sulley and Woods ignored their dog Charlie for two days and allowed him to run around their yard freely, so when neighbor Clifford Clarke opened his door, the dog ran and mauled him to death. Prior to eating Clarke alive, the dog was so hungry that it attempted to eat a plastic bowl and some cigarette butts. When a neighbor noticed the dog foaming at the mouth, the police were called, but by the time they arrived, ...

SHIJIAZHUANG -- A China-made tram powered by hydrogen fuel cells was put into commercial operation Thursday in Tangshan, North China's Hebei province. It is the first commercial hydrogen-powered tram in the world and made by China Railway Rolling Corporation (CRRC) Tangshan Co Ltd. With water being its only emission, the tram emits no pollutants. No nitrogen oxides will be produced as the temperature of the reaction inside hydrogen fuel cells is controlled under 100 degrees Celsius. The distance between carriage floor of the tram and the rail is only 35 centimeters thanks to the latest low-floor technology, which can remove station platforms and thus making boarding easy for ...

On Sept. 27, Taoufik Moalla was on his way to buy a bottle of water, happily singing along to C+C Music Factorys 1990 song Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now) when he says he heard a police siren blaring behind him. I was thinking they wanted to pass, but they called on the speaker, Please go to the right side, Moalla told CTV Montreal. The “Czech Donald Trump,” Andrej Babis, wins in a “voting hurricane” Post Date: 2017-10-22 21:33:35 by Tooconservative

The polls in the Czech Republic were predicting that the ANO party of Andrej Babis was going to do well this weekend, but even the most optimistic seemed to be surprised by the margin of victory. Known as the Czech Donald Trump, Babis is one of the richest people in the country and campaigned on a number of issues which would sound familiar to Trump voters in the United States. When the votes were all counted, his party had taken almost 40% of the seats in Parliament, with well over a quarter of the popular vote. One analyst on Czech television described it as, a voting hurricane. The centrist ANO movement led by populist Andrej Babis decisively won the Czech ...

Ottawa man not guilty of sexual assault because he thought he could have sex with wife anytime Post Date: 2017-10-20 17:17:30 by cranky

An Ottawa man has been found not guilty of sexually assaulting his wife because of his honest belief that he had the right to have intercourse with her whenever he wanted. In a written ruling, Ontario Superior Court Justice Robert Smith said the Crown failed to prove that the accused had formed the required criminal intent mens rea to sexually assault his wife in 2002. I find that the accused probably had sex with his wife on many occasions without her specific consent, as both he and she believed that he had the right to do so, Smith said. However, the judge ruled the man was not guilty of sexual assault because the Crown had failed to establish that he knew ...

The twilight of the elites...in the European Union [Full Thread] Post Date: 2017-10-17 10:35:59 by Tooconservative

When I recently wrote about the possibility of a coming east-west schism in the European Union (EU), I focused primarily on Hungary and Poland. Theyre part of that eastern block of countries which joined the EU a bit later and introduced a definite culture clash with their significantly more socialist, globalist neighbors in France and Brussels. Recent events to the east seem to have signaled a swift erosion of the older, established elites who have been running the show. But there are still more dominos left to fall. Signs of that happening come to us with additional news in a similar vein this month. For one example, can you name the youngest national leader in the ...

Austria's political "whizz-kid" Sebastian Kurz was on course Sunday to become Europe's youngest leader, potentially in coalition with the far-right after its best result in almost 20 years. Kurz's conservative People's Party (OeVP) won 31.7 percent of the vote, followed by Chancellor Christian Kern's Social Democrats (SPOe) on 26.9 percent, projections that were broadly in line with preliminary results showed. Close behind was the nationalist Freedom Party (FPOe) on 26.0 percent, twice that of their allies the Alternative for Germany (AfD) last month and close to its all-time record of 26.8 percent in 1999 under then-leader Joerg Haider.
