On Wednesday, paparazzi captured photos of Sarah Palin relaxing on a Hawaii beach with her husband and children, and wearing a McCain campaign visor -- with her former running mate's name scribbled over with a black marker. TMZ called the visor a "searing political statement," but Palin tells Politico that she was just trying to keep a low profile.

"I am so sorry if people took this silly incident the wrong way," Palin said in a statement. "I adore John McCain, support him 100 percent and will do everything I can to support his reelection. As everyone knows, I was honored and proud to run with him. And Todd and I were with him in D.C. just a week ago. So much for trying to be incognito."

A Palin friend said that the hotel where the family was staying .....

Given her statements as McLunatics running mate, which I was willing to overlook BECAUSE she was his running mate at that time, and given her "I support 100%" statement of yesterday,I have no choice but to believe it means the same thing to her that it means to McLuntic.

If it doesn't,she should come right out and say so. As for me,I am done with making excuses for her. She is no longer McLunatics running mate, and she is supposed to be out from under his shadow now and on her own.

Politics being what it is, Palin is NOT going to clarify exactly what "100%" meant...maybe because SHE doesn't even know. But I believe it was a statement made in support of the guy who nominated her as VP. Call it a "loyalty" courtesy. To what extent did she mean it? We'll have to wait. But despite that she and McCain have a lot of differences.

Whether you want to characterize support of Palin as making "excuses for Palin," get on her case, support her a la carte or whatever is your prerogative, but there is NO way she is a McCain-RINO or the equivalent of 0bama, or just another NWO-Puppet. No way.

Once again,HOW is it possible to have a "path to citizenship" WITHOUT amnesty? IT IS ILLEGAL FOR A ILLEGAL ALIEN TO BE GRANTED CITIZENSHIP. A amnesty is REQUIRED before any can become US citizens.

And AGAIN, we'll have to wait instead of speculating the worst.

"Path to citizenship" does NOT mean "Amnesty." If a Dem or RINO said what she'd said, I'd be more concerned.

Palin: "We need to close the borders. They are called illegal aliens for a reason and if they are not going to follow the rules they should not be in our country. It’s pretty simple I ratcheted that one down to the simple answer because its an easier answer than some politicians want it to make it be. You close the borders. You get more aggressive about cracking down on the illegal aliens and we take it serious what our border patrol officers are trying to do." NOT exactly 0bama or Bush, is it?

I remember hoping that Boy Jorge was going to be a conservative, too.

Actually I knew he was never going to be a "conservative."

I supported her in the first place because I had a sense from some of the things that she said that she MIGHT be a genuine conservative at heart. Or maybe I was just so desperate for a conservative to show up that I hoped she was.

I still believe in Palin for the same reasons as you. You blew out a tire on the McCain comment. I understand - I didn't like it either - but it still doesn't define her thousand and one politic positions.

Check this interview out:

The only good news is there is still a year left to go before the 2012 elections start getting into full swing, and I can just hope that Walter Jones or another actual conservative throws his or her hat into the ring....If not,I'm back to voting for local and state candidates in 2012,and casting another write-in ballot for president.

Never heard of Jones. As conservative as he may or may not be or anyone else, will he or they have a shot??

I think I'll vote for Cheech Wizard this time.

Of Cheech and Chong? How many "Cheech's" are out there?

They understand. It just conflicts with there lust for cheap labor and GOP worship.

Look - between black and white are shades of gray.

There's the difference between you and I right there.

See, there is black and white and there is also right and wrong. I have a defined set of core values and I don't waiver from them. My core values don't change when the wind blows or my candidate changes from briefs to panties.

Save me the sanctimonious "I'm principled, you're not" crap.

The "difference" is in accepting reality instead of delusion, the possible instead of IMpossible.

We're talking about candidates for the office of Presidency, NOT who we're marrying.

Do you really believe there's going to be a candidate that mirrors your "core beliefs" in 2012? If you're going to play this silly game, then Jesus Christ is MY ideal candidate because he mirrors MY "core beliefs." What's that? he isn't available to run? Looks like I've got to go to PLAN "B." Who's your Plan A or B??

I am a conservative and I see things in black and white. You either are or you are not.

The issue isn't about what you or I believe; It's about politics, and the nature of politics has always been about shades of gray; Conservatives just hope their candidate represents a shade of gray that is far closer to white then black.

And you, my neoconservative/leftist friend, are not. You are pushing for, supporting and defending a candidate who is not conservative, who supports a path to citizenship, McCain, climate change BS and bailouts. Those 'shades of gray' have brought us to where we are right now and we'll continue down this road until pretend conservatives like you find your core values and stick to them.

NOW, you've got me LMAO. No really....my Tooth Fairy Conservative Party friend.

Your idealism is commendable, but engaging in half-truths, speculations, assumptions don't help convince me that you have ANY grasp of political nuance or reality.

You can claim to be against these things, and still support a candidate who is for them all, but that makes you full of shit and your comments will be viewed in the light, and given the weight that they deserve. Sorry.

Wait...Is this where the Laugh-Track throttle is shoved to the max?

Never heard of Jones. As conservative as he may or may not be or anyone else, will he or they have a shot??

No. Mostly because he's not running. If he DID decide to run,he would be a serious contender, though. A married Catholic from the south that is a traditional small government conservative that leans very heavily towards being a social conservative also (he seems to be serious about being a Catholic),he was barred from the White House under Boy Jorge, and he is honest and fearless enough he gave a anti-Iraq war speech at Camp Lejune right before a election a couple of cycles ago. A anti-war speech to Marines that got him a standing ovation.

As far as I know there is no scandal in his background and he is what women would call a attractive man who has charisma.

Yeah,I'd say he would be a contender. If somebody can get him to run.

I think I'll vote for Cheech Wizard this time.

Of Cheech and Chong?

No,although Cheech Marin would be a decided improvement over what we have had to suffer through since Reagan left office.

How many "Cheech's" are out there?

At least one. Cheech Wizard. The Wizard in Vaugh Bode's cartoons from the 60's that is always surrounded by double-breasted sweeties, and kicks anybody in the nuts that crosses him.

Go ahead and navigate your way through all your 'nuances' and your 'shades of gray' right to a candidate who supports a path to citizenship, McCain and bailouts. You may also enjoy pondering the definition of 'is'.

Like I said, your comments will be viewed in the light, and given the weight that they deserve.

Getting barred from the Bush WH puts him in the rarified company of Tom Tancredo. That's a plus.

Small gubmint...anti-war...charismatic...sounds principled...But it doesn't help us at a national level unless he busts a move.

Cheech Marin would be a decided improvement over what we have had to suffer through since Reagan left office.

He IS far from perfect, but he's the closest thing to an actual conservative that we have in American government and light-years to the right of Palin.

I don't care about charisma. I don't support a politician because he has or doesn't have charisma. I support him because his views most closely resemble my own. I don't fall for the whole cult of personality BS that is shoved down the throats of Americans today.

I don't care about his 'chance' of being President. I don't support a politician because he has or doesn't have a chance of being elected. I support him because his views most closely resemble my own. If everyone today did this, we wouldn't be electing leftists no matter what letter comes after their name.

I don't care what party he runs under. I don't support a politician because of his party affiliation. I support him because his views most closely resemble my own. Because neither party has my or my country's best interest at heart.

That's part of that whole 'core values' thing I was talking about earlier.

Hyperbole-Ad Nauseam, thy name is We The People.

I know personally people who are more "conservative" than Ron Paul, yet the odds of them becoming President is the same as with Ron Paul.

I don't care about charisma. I don't support a politician because he has or doesn't have charisma. I support him because his views most closely resemble my own. I don't fall for the whole cult of personality BS that is shoved down the throats of Americans today.

Possessing "charisma" is important because it leads. People are NOT inspired by whiny, apologetic, little gnomes - even if they are knowledge, honest and sincere about their ideology. Your Human-Nature IQ is ZERO.

"I don't care about his 'chance' of being President. I don't support a politician because he has or doesn't have a chance of being elected. I support him because his views most closely resemble my own. If everyone today did this, we wouldn't be electing leftists no matter what letter comes after their name."

Ok, so you've established the fact that you "don't care" if the odds of your candidate (like Paul) are a million-1 AGAINST....

And who cares if in the next election against 0bama, your write-in vote is a vote for stupidity, masochism, and slavery - just as long as YOU retain your "core values," eh?

I don't care what party he runs under. I don't support a politician because of his party affiliation. I support him because his views most closely resemble my own. Because neither party has my or my country's best interest at heart...That's part of that whole 'core values' thing I was talking about earlier.

Ummm...I think I get it. It's "because his views mostly resemble" your own. (Acccckkk! Polly wanna cracker??)

The issue here is NOT about either "Party" [remember, Ron Paul (R)]; It's about the reality of who can best lead this country and steer it back towards actual conservatism. Right now the best one to fit that bill is Sarah Palin.

I don't care what party he runs under. I don't support a politician because of his party affiliation. I support him because his views most closely resemble my own. Because neither party has my or my country's best interest at heart.

It is unusual that, until the act of 1893, the sovereign state of North Carolina had no motto since its declaration of independence. It was one of the few states that did not have a motto, and the only one of the original thirteen without one.

The state motto had also been adopted as a temporary motto by the Virginia class submarine USS North Carolina until being replaced by primus in proelio, which means First in Fight, a play-on-words for First in Flight. [edit] Schools
