The Washington Post reports attorneys general for the District of Columbia and the state of Maryland are alleging President Trump has accepted millions in payments and benefits from foreign governments since moving into the White House. The lawsuit centres on the fact that President Trump retained ownership of his company when he became President — an issue he has faced criticism over before. In January, he said he was shifting business assets into a trust managed by his sons to eliminate a potential conflict of interests. But they'll soon find out that there's a difference between accepting gifts from foreign countries and accepting payments for services rendered. Plus, Trump has said he would turn over any profits from foreign governments at his hotels to the U.S. treasury. They will be wiped out in the 2018 mid-term elections on account of it. Trump did not betray the American people. The Republican Party has given the people the middle finger. They will be severely punished by the voters for having done so.
