Not a single member of Congress who represents the territory on the southwest border said they support President Donald Trump’s request for $1.4 billion to begin construction of his promised wall, according to a Wall Street Journal survey, testing the administration’s ability to reach a deal on government funding next week.

Most lawmakers representing the region—both Democrats and Republicans—said they are opposed and many said they have unanswered questions. A few were noncommittal, but not a single member of the House or Senate representing the region expressed support for the funding request. That includes nine members of the House and eight senators across four states: Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California.

Still, the White House is holding firm on its position.

“You’re always going to have constituencies within both parties that have local issues—we get that,” Mick Mulvaney, the head of the Office of Management and Budget, said in an interview. He added that the GOP leadership is on board to fight for the funding because “they know it’s a priority for the president.”

No problem, amigos. We'll simply build the wall on your northern border.

Gee, what a surprise, coming from the never-met-an-illegal-we-wanted-to-deport Wall Street Journal.

Let's look at a map of the 117th Congress in 2017, red for GOPs and blue for Dims:

Notice anything there about the party affiliation of those representing nearly all of these border districts?

Somehow, the WSJ overlooked this key fact about "bipartisan opposition" to the wall in border districts.

What a disgrace these blue-blood Yankee scumbag open-borders hypocrites at the Journal really are.

Omg thats just crazy. If you were to get rid of welfare that blue would shrink dramatically. Then if you were to show county by county map it even gets redder.

2016 presidential race.

Omg thats just crazy.

It's startling just how sleazy and dishonest the WSJ is in publishing such trashy content. They relied on the reader to be ignorant of the facts and just to trust their ridiculously biased argument.

The border consists of only 9 districts and 7 of those are Dems and only 2 are GOPs (one of which is the southern half of rural New Mexico).

Funny how the WSJ didn't bother to mention that little fact, eh?

The WSJ hacks do far more harm to their own reputation than to Trump building the wall he campaigned for.

You are absolutely correct about the WSJ, which has long been OpenBorders whores perfectly willing to give our country away to these foreign invaders. The WSJ is embarassingly predictable on this issue.
