Thats why we are in Russia. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = New World Hackers Taking Credit For Massive DDoS Attack Wyatt Swain A group called the New World Hackers have taken credit for the largest DDoS attack in United States history, knocking out huge sites like Twitter, GrubHub, Spotify, and many other insanely popular websites. Although it has yet to be confirmed that the New World Hackers are actually responsible for the attack, an article on a pro-Anonymous blog site called AnonIntelGroup.com has an interview with the group thats live now. The article is called Twitter down ? Its not the Russians
Its The New World. Who Are The New World Hackers? If the name New World Hackers is familiar to you, you might remember the group from last years attack on the BBC that took down the website for a short period of time. Obviously todays attack is something much bigger, but if theres anything good to take out of it, its that we know just how vulnerable our internet infrastructure can be. You can read the full interview below: We have an annual power test each year and this is actually against Russia. Testing power is the key. Like that we see how much bandwidth each attack outputs
How big is your botnets? Our botnet is a supercomputer botnet consisting of over 100,000 iot devices. What motivated this most recent show of force? Its for the good.. Russia is pretty much saying they are better than the U.S. by hacking into everything attempting to start a war. We will show them a war. Do you feel that people underestimate you guys? Overall we feel that everyone underestimates us and doubts our possibility until they see it for themselves. Do you guys worry about the amount of attention this is bringing? We do worry about the amount of attention it brings, we dont want federal agents on our ass. Thats why we are in Russia. How do you think Russia would respond after performing an attack of this magnitude? Russia should respond, but fuck them all. Our message to the world is stay educated. Whats your message to the world? Stay Educated. What Happened? Early Friday morning, the Dyn DNS Company, which essentially holds the key to accessing many important sites and apps on the web, was attacked by a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack. Although many were quick to blame a State Party because of the immense size and success of the attack, the New World Hackers have claimed responsibility for the attack. According to their own numbers, NWH has a botnet of over 100,000 Internet of Things (IOT) devices that theyre using to spam Dyn DNS. Honestly an attack of this magnitude would probably have to be accomplished by something a bit bigger than 100K devices, but what do we know? We can say that another theory of whos responsible is the Mirai-based botnet, a piece of malware that searches for vulnerable IOT devices and infects them, adding them to their botnet. At last estimation, it was believed that almost 500K devices were infected and added to the botnet. That being said, were certainly not discounting the abilities of the New World Hackers. Taking down the BBC is not easy, and they almost certainly have gained in strength and numbers since doing so. Well probably find out if theyre for real within the week. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = January 2, 2016: "We are based in the US, but we strive to take down Isis [IS] affiliated websites, also Isis members." http://securityaffairs.co/wordpress/43235/hacking/new-world-hackers-ddos-bbc.html Anti-IS group New World Hackers claims BBC website attack January 2, 2016 A group of hackers named New World Hackers claims the DDoS attack on BBCs website. They launched it to test their attack capabilities. On December 31th, the BBC website and iPlayer service went down due to a major distributed denial of service attack. The attack started at 0700 GMT and paralyzed the websites for more than hour causing the panic among users on the social media. The technology correspondent at the British Broadcasting Company, Rory Cellan-Jones, confirmed that the issue was caused by an external attack and not by a glitch. Sources BBC suffered a DdOS a distributed denial of service attack. But services are now being restored Tweeted Rory Cellan-Jones. Anyway, the company hasnt confirmed or denied the news of a DDoS attack against its systems. Who is behind the attack? Broadcasting companies like the BBC are a privileged target for cyber criminals, hackers, nation-state actors and terrorists. This is a difficult period so when users saw the error message displayed on the BBC websites their first thought was for the ISIS. However, members of the IS did not have claimed the attack, instead, a group of Anti-ISIS hackers calling itself New World Hacking has claimed the responsibility for the BBC attack. According to a post published by the BBC, Hackers of the New World Hacking said they had launched the attack as a test of its capabilities. https://twitter.com/ruskin147/status/683224089008422912?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw Message to me from New World Hackers on BBC DDoS : "It was only a test, we didn't exactly plan to take it down for multiple hours" 1:51 AM - 2 Jan 2016 The Hackers of the New World Hacking group contacted the Rory Cellan-Jones via Twitter, below an image caption of the messages he received. In a tweet to Rory Cellan-Jones, the New World Hacking group said they are based in US and they use their abilities to target Isis [IS] affiliated websites. We are based in the US, but we strive to take down Isis [IS] affiliated websites, also Isis members. We realise sometimes what we do is not always the right choice, but without cyber hackers
who is there to fight off online terrorists? The reason we really targeted [the] BBC is because we wanted to see our actual server power. Earlier, New World Hacking had said: It was only a test, we didnt exactly plan to take it down for multiple hours. Our servers are quite strong. Stay Tuned!
