May God bless you and your families, and our Nation on this Thanksgiving 2015.
Thanks! May God Bless You and yours this Thanksgiving!
Second year without my Dad. Little brother didn't bother to call. I spent no time with my cousins - the are spending time with their kids and in-laws.
But Mom is still around! So we cooked and carved a turkey breast, cubed and steamed and buttered some squash, sliced some rolls. The vanilla pudding was mixed with some blueberries. (Forget the pie, Mom...)
That is great Chuck. Spend all the time you can with her. I lost my Dad back in 94, and i lost Mom in 86. I still miss them.
i will make one suggestion. I wish I had done this. Buy a cassette tape recorder, or some digital thingy. But when you are with her, and discussing family history, or what ever, record it. I think back to discussions I had with Mom & Dad, and really wish I had recorded them. I wish I had done that with my grandparents as well. It would be wonderful to listen to them now. My two youngest kids did not get to know them, I so wish they had. But recordings would be a good thing for them.
Remember, enjoy your Mom, and do all you can for her now! You will not regret it!
