Little Spider Creations had been making scary creations in Denver for 24 years, but the owner of the company says legalizing recreational marijuana changed everything. Now, he's moved his company to South Carolina.

Marc Brawner, the company's owner, says since Colorado legalized marijuana, too many employees were coming in high. He was firing too many people, and he made the decision to move to North Myrtle Beach, S.C.

"The main reason we pulled out was because of marijuana, " Brawner said. "Marijuana got into our industry. Half of the sculptors will come in high. As soon as we'd catch it, they'd be let go. We went through 25 sculptors. Only five of [our sculptors] either were quality or would show up unimpaired."

Brawner says you could definitely see the difference in employees work when they were high, and he says they were just not as productive and had an "it's good enough" attitude.

What the hell kind of work ethic does he expect from 'scary spider sculptors', anyway?

Looks like he was just using the potheads as a convenient scapegoat - apparently he had the move planned all along.

Boo comes to North Myrtle Beach; props company to bring 35 jobs

Marc Brawner will tell you how much cheaper it is to do business in South Carolina than Colorado and how easy Sandy Davis of the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corp. made the move East for his company, but the real reasons he’s making scary sculptures in North Myrtle Beach are two feet in the sand and a book in a hand.

“My wife told me,” he recalled a conversation they had after a day on a Grand Strand beach, “this is the way I want to live.”

They toured possible locations, talked about taxes and checked out the workforce. Davis arranged meetings with Horry County Council Chairman Mark Lazarus and Jim Apple, CEO of Burroughs & Chapin Co. Inc.

She even arranged a kind-of date for one employee to reassure him that life on the Grand Strand would be OK.

After all the attention, Brawner said he was aiming toward a warehouse in Conway when Marc Jordan, CEO of the North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce, stepped forward with a $25,000 check to help offset the cost of the move.

Eighty percent of Little Spider’s customers are along the East Coast -- the big one is the Six Flags amusement park empire -- and Brawner said the company will save $50,000 to $60,000 in shipping costs this year.

Yeah,THAT makes sense.

Anybody that wants to claim an entire workforce in any state comes to work high on pot is a liar. Only an idiot would even make the claim because it clearly implies the workers he had hired before never smoked pot until it became legal.

People will tell and believe any sort of lie if it reinforces their prejudices.

Only in your mind does the average family have faggots in them and few come to work high in Colorado. Any Democrat would agree with you.
