I hope that they are safe. Do they know what is going on around then? What sources of info do they have?
BTW, I really liked Budapest the couple of times I visited there (about 15 years ago).
They say that it's safe enough - passing through. Obviously you don't head into something turbulent, and you don't follow some guy who says "follow me". You don't linger. They have the news of what is going on, and of course the information from the locals too. Austria has sent buses, and the trains have be restarted to Germany, so the pressure should be off of Hungary soon enough.
