It was four years ago today that Fullerton, California police sadistically beat a homeless man to death. In his final moments of life, before he lost consciousness, Kelly Thomas cried out for his father 31 times.
At least 26 times he yelled help me and cried Im sorry 15 times during the lethal beating.
Thomas responded OK to police, to tell them he was complying, a full 29 times. He politely used words like Sir and Please when he spoke to the officers while they were beating him to death.
In spite of the fact that this beating was captured on vide, the two former Fullerton California police officers walked free, found not guilty of any wrong doing.
Last year, the prosecution rested their case against the officers with the final words of the 37-year-old Kelly Thomas before he lost consciousness:
Dad help me.
God help me.
Help me. Help me. Help me.
I dont know about you, Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas said in his closing arguments to jurors, but I cant recall ever hearing such pleas. Such crying. Such begging for his life. Ever.
None of this mattered. There was apparently no way to get the jury to convict the murders all because they had shiny badges and blue uniforms.
Ron Thomas said that the defense lied
continuously about the character of his son, Kelly.
Its carte blanche for police officers everywhere to beat us, kill us this verdict proves that theyll get away with it no matter whether it is caught on video or not, Ron Thomas said.
If you agree that we must never forget the murder of Kelly Thomas then help us SPREAD THE WORD and keep his memory alive! It should be a wake up call to us all when police can be caught on video beating a man as he begs for his life and those officers still walk free!
