HBO is another $15 per month. There are also free movies for your basic monthy subscription,as well as pay movies. My Direct TV account was 70 bucks per month,but is creeping back up to a little over 100 bucks a month again,so I am looking for options. I subscribed and hook up to it using my ROKU player,but you can also do both on your PC,or even on your smart phone. Poster Comment: Just subscribed a couple hours ago,and have mixed feelings about it. A lot of the programs I would watch on it can also be watched on my Netflix and my Amazon Prime account for free,but not all. RIght now I have am/have been watching the History Channel on it,and the History Channel is also available on Netflix. Haven't checked to see if the programming is identical yet,though. Frankly,AMC and TNT are big draws for me and why I am looking into it. So far MY opinion is that it works as advertised,but there are a couple of negatives. The 2 big negatives is I don't see any way to record programs there yet,and the programming is hard to figure out. Frankly,I am spoiled by my Dish Network and Direct TV DVR's and their ability to check upcoming shows and record them instantly as well as VOD shows. Trying to find and view a program in episode order is at best "clunky" for me. I may just decide at the end of the 7 days that it's worth another 80 bucks a month to have the convenience of recording and an excellent search engine from Dish or Direct. My time may not be worth much dollar wise,but it is worth something to me and I would rather spend it watching shows than trying to find them and remember when they come on. What say yee?

Yes and free on your roku or chromecast. Ahhhhh! Now I remember where I saw it! Thanks! The biggest problem I have with my ROKU is it offers so much it's hard to keep track of what they do offer. We literally went from "there is nothing interesting on tv tonight to watch" to "there is too damn much to watch every night even if you watch it 24/7" in just one generation. Also,I am very happy to say that some of the dramas and historical shows offered by American companies now matches the quality of the best BBC stuff. Then there is the free app called popcorn time. It streams torrents to your device. Kind of like netflix with a nice menu and everything.
Video and audio streams don't lend themselves to malware and viruses. The one main exception would be those special Sony CDs that caused such a public outcry. They would download an extra codec from Sony for Windows Media Player and it would take a lot of bandwidth and CPU power to monitor whether you were playing a genuine Sony CD or a pirated version. It also spied on what you were listening to, sending the results constantly to Sony. Sony pulled it from the market quickly and now pretends it never happened. By their nature, video/audio streams are just data. They aren't loaded into memory in buffers you can easily overrun to activate a malware payload. To infect a machine via streams, you'd need instead to attack the video player software. For an outfit like NSA, they could identify and intercept traffic to/from the video player and attack it, most likely as part of a player software update. There's very little upside to trying to infect machines via streaming. If they're already inside your network, they can attack software on the major OSes much better than to try to attack via streaming.
I have noticed on some other sites. That they will name files as movies. But they are .exe files. So you automatically know they are fake. Haven't seen any of those files on the sites I mentioned.

I have Netflix also. I used to go through the list and I added more then a hundred movies that looked interesting to my play list. I haven't watched 99 percent of them. In fact I hardly ever watch netflix. The wife does though.

Yiffy is an uploader. Whoever it is they/he/she uploads HD movies that are very small and download in about 10 min or so. "Yiffy files" can be seen dominating the Pirate bay top 100 HD movies. They can also be found at lime torrents or pretty much any site that has those types of files. Yiffy also hast their own site. But its name changes periodically. Let me see if I can find it.

Here is the one I use. A lot of people also use something called Utorrent.

I don't use it though. Because I like saving them. Because some of the older movies I like probably would download slow as not many people are sharing them. You can get an external HD for a hundred bucks that is 2TB. That would hold a ton of stuff.

I haven't seen vikings yet. But breaking bad and Thrones are among my favorites. Another really good TV series I watched was "12 monkeys" It was on the sci fi channel There are only 10 episodes out to date. Great show imo.
I binged on that the year before final season. Good show. Try Game of Thrones it is in my opinion better then breaking bad. And breaking bad is awesome.

You should look at PirateBay and KickassTorrents as primary torrent sites. Outfits like Limewire are kinda dicey, just like Kazaa and Shareaza used to be. And like Kazaa/Shareaza, lots of bogus malware-filled downloads in their software offerings. While I don't recommend Vuze/Azureus because it is written in Java (a security threat), I do like uTorrent. For $5 a year, it lets you stream torrents as you download them. The free version forces you to wait for the download to complete before you play it. A client that takes a miniscule 1MB of RAM and is mostly written in assembler, it will run on even very old and outdated computers easily. With the streaming option, uTorrent makes every torrent site into a big Netflix for you. It supports RSS feeds so it will automatically download lists of new torrents for you, very handy for big sites like the ones I mentioned. KickassTorrents does offer easy-to-use RSS feeds for its major torrent categories like movies and TV shows and you can choose specialized RSS feeds, like for HD-movies-only. Outfits like Kazaa/Shareaza/Limewire have a lot of security holes and problems over the years, lots of downsides. Much of the time, their video feeds are second-rate quality. You're much better off to stay with the best-known torrent clients like uTorrent (or even Vuze) and the main torrent sites like PirateBay and KickAssTorrents.

I don't know about that. Lonesome Dove and Deadwood were pretty damn great,too. Still are. They are the rare exceptions to my rule to not buy movies or series. It isn't lime wire. Lime wire is peer to peer sharing with lots of virus potential. This is lime torrents. With only verified torrents and no viruses. They probably used the name lime torrents because of the old lime wire.

Not on the sites I mentioned. You have bitcomet or utorrnet installed. Then what you do is click on what is called the seed file. You download that seed file and it knows how to get the rest of the file automatically. There is no need for any other software. You can also just use google and type torrent after whatever you are searching for. Just check those files to make sure they aren't .exe. But you wont have to worry about that if you use the pirate bay, yiffy or lime torrents. Remember lime torrents is not lime wire that too conservative mentioned.
I wouldn't recommend it. But I don't think they have an official client. Most likely, that is a malware installer. Provide me a link and I'll check into it. Lots and lots of malware gets distributed through such bogus programs. Everyone I knows looks at Kickass via web browsers or the RSS reader in Vuze or uTorrent or in a standard RSS newsfeed reader. Here is a link to just KA's Highres - Movies, RSS feed. It has just the movie titles and the name of the torrent file to use to download it. So if you subscribed to Highres-Movies in uTorrent, you'd get a list like this, auto-updated every 5-10 minutes with all the latest Highres Movies from KA. You could read the RSS feed(s) and just click the ones you want to download. No browser, no special downloader for the torrent site like you have on some of these proprietary torrent sites. Just uTorrent and the RSS feed. The uTorrent (with $5 streaming option) and the RSS feature is all you'd really need to grab as much stuff as you like conveniently off KickassTorrents and use it like a roll-yer-own Netflix. If you don't care about instant streaming, you can use uTorrent Free. Speaking of YIFY, I noticed this little gem on KA but it can't be very high quality at only 1GB for 169 minutes: I decided to grab it. So it is downloading at 400-500kB/s and will finish in under 40 minutes. Plenty fast for immediate streaming. So I have to wait 40 minutes to watch, using uTorrent Free. If I paid the $5 a year for uTorrent Pro, I could start streaming it immediately, like Netflix would.
