tn-bb-gun-shooting-volleyball

A police lieutenant in Tennessee was not arrested after shooting at a group of 20 children playing volleyball hear his home.

The children were not on his property, but the mere sound of them playing at a nearby church was enough to enrage Michael Wilson, 58, to the point of opening fire on them with a BB gun.

A 911 caller reported that a man with a gun was firing at the children…

“We were just playing volleyball and all of the sudden I just heard a ‘gun-click’ sound and I was just freaking out because it was so fast and then all of sudden, something hits my leg,” one of the children, Addison Caldwell said.

“My daughter came running in here saying ‘mom something got me in the back of the leg’ and yelling there’s a man shooting us and of course I’m like ‘oh my gosh what’s going on?’,” Caldwell’s mother, Angela Gulley, recalled.

A total of three children were shot by the BBs, but when officers arrived they didn’t open fire on him like John Crawford or Tamir Rice, who never fired a shot from their BB guns.

Instead, the intoxicated lieutenant was placed on paid administrative leave while the department investigates the shooting.

He was charged, and must appear in court on June 3rd, but he was not arrested in spite of the fact that he opened fire on children.

Watch the local report below…

“He’s a lieutenant and I don’t think that’s right for him to be doing that,” Caldwell commented on Wilson’s bizarre and frightening actions.

“It just kind of hurts. I’m still in shock that we have someone in our county that would hurt our children and be in a position that was supposed to protect us and not bully us.”

So what’s that you say about people getting into law enforcement to help people? Maybe, just maybe, there are those who get into positions of power so they can abuse and hurt people. (1 image)

So what’s that you say about people getting into law enforcement to help people?

They only want to "protect and serve"?

I guess these doggone kids had no right to be out having fun while this pathetic excuse for a human being was trying to sleep of a 3 day Sterno bender.

Dang volleyball players! Serves them right!
Next thing you know they'll be playing
topless at the Monastery in Phoenix!

(Which was torn down several years ago.
Truly a tragedy.)

The lieutenant needs to remember that these kids have fathers and grandfathers, not all will be content with hiring a slick willy layer to get them a few coin of the realm.

" A police lieutenant "

You have to wonder how he got promoted that high.

When you are "charged" and have a date in court... YOU HAVE BEEN ARRESTED. There are two kinds of arrest. Custodial arrest and non custodial arrests. Each states Criminal Procedure Laws dictate what offenses can be handled non custodial... yet this bright YELLA journalism wants you to think he wasn't "arrested" at all buy titling it with "Cops Refuse To Arrest Officer", because he was non custodial arrested.

Deckard should pay Stone another 50 bucks for posting a lie.

With all this said, if this idiot did shoot kids, with a BB gun, for ANY REASON, on or off his property, while in an intoxicated condition, he should be hanged by the neck until dead, after his constitutional trial by jury or judge.

He got a good night's sleep without interruption.

Edit: I'm curious as to what time of the day or evening this incident occurred.

The point is - if the drunken old fart who was shooting a BB gun at kids hadn't been a cop, this would have gone down much differently.

He wasn't arrested at the scene - his cop buddies said "hey man, just show up in court, we got your back".

The article is based on a lie... if he has a court date, TO WIT; he was arrested. Deckard should be flogged for his deception.

Every pothead head in NY, that's ARRESTED for Unlawful Possesion of Marijuana (UPM) is arrested the very same way. No custody, no cuffs and ride to the station. Hundreds of thousands of potheads arrested the same way this idiot LE officer was... but it's a conspiracy because he's a cop.

NYS CPL 150.75

" 1. The provisions of this section shall apply in any case wherein the defendant is alleged to have committed an offense defined in section 221.05 of the penal law, and no other offense is alleged, notwithstanding any provision of this chapter or any other law to the contrary. 2. Whenever the defendant is arrested without a warrant, an appearance ticket shall promptly be issued and served upon him, as provided in this article. The issuance and service of the appearance ticket may be made conditional upon the posting of pre-arraignment bail as provided in section 150.30 of this chapter but only if the appropriate police officer (a) is unable to ascertain the defendant's identity or residence address; or (b) reasonably suspects that the identification or residence address given by the defendant is not accurate; or (c) reasonably suspects that the defendant does not reside within the state. No warrant of arrest shall be issued unless the defendant has failed to appear in court as required by the terms of the appearance ticket or by the court.

But Deckard will have you thinking that people go to PRISON for a joint. lol

Deckard’ way of thinking is wrong. His behavior is irrational. Dealing with someone whose behavior is irrational is extremely difficult, bordering on impossible. Deckard’s irrationality causes him to never listen to reason, logic, or even basic common sense. He lasers to focus on fulfilling a need. And, until he feel that need is fulfilled (which it will never be), or he somehow snaps out of it, his behavior will continue to be predictable…..that being, obnoxious.

You do realize what would have happened had the BB gun-shooting old drunk not been a cop, right?

He would be dead at the scene.

Your problem (and that of most cops) is that you believe you are above the law.

There's no sense trying to reason with you.

And there was an aggravating factor. They were selling drugs around minor children. Many big sentences for drugs have an aggravating factor, like gun possession.

Is it smart to sell drugs out your front door when your babies are behind that door?

I would agree with you if and when weed is legalized... but there are many many drive by shootings, burglaries, home invasions and assaults in marijuana dealing homes. I processed a scene once where a weed dealer was mauled by a pit bull, because of a bad weed deal... and he was put in a car to die, and did die. All over weed.

...playing topless at the Monastery in Phoenix...

If you were never to the Monastery - it was a great place.

BBQ grilles scattered around under the (rare) trees in
Phoenix where you could BBQ the meat (various types)
around the picnic tables while being waited upon
(for beer) by waitresses (who were usually fully clothed) -
and watch the pretty boobies play volleyball.
Sometimes we (topless also) guys would join in the volleyball!
Yes I'm relating episodes of decadence. What can I tell ya?
It happened.

But now I'm 51 - and live (back) in New Jersey.
And surf the Web while I listen to my girlfriend
complain about whatever...
