“Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rapidly promoted by mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”
He is 100% right... but IMHO, he handled it wrong (if he has any hopes of being the next POTUS)
His answer for any question regarding queer rights is this... Those issues have nothing to do with me or the presidency. The constitution leaves decisions about gay marriage up the each state. I'm bound to uphold the constitution. I have no opinion on an issue I don't have the authority to decide over.
Repeat that every time asked. Period.
Every society gets the kind of criminal it deserves. What is equally true is that every community gets the kind of law enforcement it insists on. Robert Kennedy
But he was asked if he, personally, "had an animosity towards gay Americans".
Yes, the dumb reporter couldn't just ask him about gay marriage -- he had to make it a personal matter with Cruz. It was great to see Cruz hand him his lunch.
Obama has played at being a president while enjoying the perks … golf, insanely expensive vacations at tax-payer expense. He has ignored the responsibilities of the job; no plans, no budgets, no alternatives … just finger pointing; making him a complete failure as a president
The U.S. Constitution does not extend rights to the states (or individuals). The U.S. Constitution lists the powers the states have ceded to the federal government -- all other powers are retained by the states.
States have always had the power to define marriage. That power was not ceded to the federal government.
I read your post #6 which says, "I owned a newspaper by the name of the section of the US Constitution, tat gives states that right."
A) I assume you mean the 10th amendment.
B) It reads, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
C) The 10th amendment says nothing about rights.
D) It says what I said. The power to define marriage remains with the states since that power was not ceded to the federal government.

If Article Ten is not about States Rights tell me what it is about.
I am curious how deep a hole you can dig for yourself.
"Wow, so you don't agree with Huckleberry and Santorum that the Federal government should dictate to us all?"
Nope. I agree with Ted Cruz when he says the government doesn't have the power to do so.
"How about Medical Marijuana? It is up to the states per the U.S. Constitution, or should the federal government dictate to us all???"
Medical? Don't make me laugh.
Marijuana is against federal law -- a law ruled constitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court.
And if you truly believe in the U.S. Constitution, then you'd be against those "medical marijuana" states for violating Article VI, Clause 2 of the document you hold so dear.
I'm a big believer in the 10th amendment. But the 14th amendment -- which has been used by the courts to apply federal laws to the states -- has done far more damage to the intent of the 10th amendment than any commerce clause interpretation.
