video An explosive device connected to several rooms was found inside a Milton home on Tuesday. The bomb squad responded to the home on Craig Street after the homeowner and an electrician found something suspicious inside. “It was in the closet of a bedroom upstairs,” homeowner Lindell Williams said. Milton police Chief Richard Wells said the device was wired throughout the house. “The intention was that if someone flipped the light switch on where it ended, the device would’ve exploded,” Chief Wells said. Police had previously responded to the Milton home for a vandalism report. (WBZ-TV) The device was inside a gallon container and was hidden behind a recently plastered section of wall. Williams believes the former tenants, who are also suspected of pouring concrete down his drains, might be responsible. The home was vacant as it was about to go up for sale. The tenants moved out last Sunday. Bomb technicians from Boston x-rayed the explosive device, disabled it, then made a sweep of the property to be sure there were no other devices. Wells said it was clear someone had spent a significant amount of time putting the device together, adding that it strung through multiple rooms. Investigators say the motive for the device remains a mystery. No arrests have been made.

Let me help them out: the motive of the makers of the device was that they wanted to blow up the house. They also poured concrete down the drains. They did both things because they were angry, and in their anger they wanted to destroy the place. There. Solved it.
Investigators say the motive for the device remains a mystery.
