Harrison Ford crash lands on golf course.
The 71-year-old actor was attempting to land at the Santa Monica airport, due to engine failure.
The monoplane was a Ryan PT-22 Recruit, once favoured by the United States Army Air Corps as a training aircraft.
It was designed in the 1930's and entered service in 1940. By the end of its production more than 1270 models had been made and most remained in service until the end of World War Two. According to plane enthusiasts, the Ryan PT-22 Recruit was also used by China and Ecuador as a military trainer.
