For those of you who would like to comment on what might happen with the 2015 version of the Texas Rangers or any other MLB team for that matter.

Also is looking like the Angels have shot their wad and are now falling back to earth. They have lost 5 in a row and just lost CJ for the rest of the year and they didn't acquire any pitching at the deadline.
Well you partially got your wish they put him on the 15 day DL with what I would assume is "Fake knee inflammation". So he'll get some rest and a 30 rehab to get his schitt together. If they plan on making a run in Sept they'll need him pitching well. Went to the Reds game today (they lost of course) and they had a 10-15 minute or so scrum late in the game over hit batters. It all started yesterday and carried over into today, in fact Melancon got tossed in the 9th over him hitting a batter. I was sitting down close to the field and yelled "IF you aren't going to kick each others asses why don't you get back into the dugouts and let your play do the talking"!! Don't know if any of the players heard me or not but a bunch of fans did and they got a chuckle over it... LOL... Looks like they're getting their money out of Diekman and Dyson they were both in the game again today. Perez looked real good a lot better than I thought he would at this time in his recovery. Angels just lost again that's 6 in a row now. You are right Andrus is hitting right now. I think .333 since July 20th. Don't worry JD will again put Adrus contract on the waiver wire this month. No one will nibble of course. I'm sure Choo will be put on the waiver wire too. More of a chance stupid front offices with loads of money like the Yankees and Mets might nibble at Choo. Good point. Plus the boy wonder hurt his wrist and playing through it. But he's young and will mend well. Frankly the Angels are not that great of a team. They benefited last year from a horrible Rangers team, Astros still finding themselves and the A's collapse. Looking like strongest team going forward is still KC. Too bad they didn't wait until tonight to let him pitch I would have loved to see him start Houston in to their own tailspin. They did make a few nice pickups that will help them. It seems to me they need a change in pitching strategy before we need to blow up the BP, BTA I could be full of ca ca... :) We have plenty of RH bats but it seems like none of them are hitting or can hit. So it seems to me they are the ones who need to be replaced first, RH for RH. The first places I would start are at catcher and the left side of the IF and then on the bench. And since you want to get rid of Choo then I would get a LHer to replace him or better yet a switch hitter. I blame that on the coaching staff and Scheppers not Choo. He was so deep and way over into RC that there was no way he could have gotten to it, BTA maybe I could have.. :) Choo has a much stronger arm than DD so that is why he stays in. If the pitcher hits his target and the coaching staff doesn't put them in a dumb defense then Choo is adequate, as long as he's hitting HRs and driving in at least 50-60 RBIs... Kinda makes you wish Gregorius goes down for the rest of the year!! :) Quite a Texas shootout tonight. Colby gave up a granny which made it close for a bit. But the Rangers put up more. 12-9 final. That new RHer reliever has some wicked stuff. He did well. Beltre hit for the cycle by the 5th inning:) Good deal. Hope this means he is finally in his mid summer tear. Choo is doing enough to keep him in the graces of JD and Banny. I remember seeing him with the Reds and how he used to spread the ball all over the OF and get on base. Now it seems he is trying to kill the ball on every at bat. If Choo and Beltre can have a great August and September it could change the team dynamics a lot. He also hit 20+ HRs with the Reds. Maybe they are asking him to supply a little more power or pull the ball more, I wouldn't think so but just don't know what's been asked of him. (Batters/pitchers get screwed up all the time cause the coaches just couldn't leave well enough alone). BTA maybe he thinks he needs to do more to earn that big paycheck (which is true to some extent) and has decided on his own to go with something different than what got him there, which is a mistake. To me there are 3 types of contracts one is you are getting paid for what you do consistently, the 2nd is you are getting paid for what the management "thinks" you're capable of, and the 3rd is management has absolutely no clue what they are doing. Seems we will have a shoe string catching crew for a while longer: Rangers catching situation remains catch-as- catch can The minors are bankrupt catcher options for the foreseeable future with Telis and Alfaro gone. Pierzynski (39) Matt Wieters (30) Here is the list of potential catcher free agents this off season... Since they traded 7 prospects away (when I think could have gotten the job done with 5) I don't think they will go the trade route so that only leaves FA... If you look at the stats and age Dioner Navarro seems to be the best one available, he's a switch hitter. I'm wondering how long this will last, and will he break the 80 RBI mark?? If not then I would find a RHed youngster to take his place next year for about 500K!! Yes! Showed the vid to the boys tonight and their friends who are rabid Rangers fans. Good kids. I take them along to some RR Express games now and then. Jaso is terrible throwing out runners at second. Bat not bad. Steer clear of AJ even though he has done well with the Braves this year. Too old. Having a switch hitter is good. I rather have a catcher who can call a good game and "frame" pitches well than some guy with a bat and can't get a pitcher out of a jam. So far Jimenez and Wilson have been doing ok. Great win tonight. Tolly got in trouble in the 9th walking the first batter and then gave up a single with no outs. Runners at first and third no outs. Gets a ground ball out to Mitch holding the runner. Then runner on first swipes second. Strikes out Castro and Altuve to complete the save no runs plated. Amazing job. Final 4-3 Rangers. Wish the Yanks had deGrom .He's an outstanding pitcher...better than Harvey . The Mets really helped themselves before the trader deadline adding depth to their roster with Yoenis Cespedes, Tyler Clippard, Kelly Johnson, and Juan Uribe (which served as a wakeup call).Sandy Alderson deserves kudos given all the heat Mets fans have given him. Yanks are now 15 over 0.500 a new high water mark for the season .They crushed the Red Sox ,a pleasant ending of a great hiking day in NH (which is Red Sox territory) . Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Thought you might like this little tidbit... The biggest thing I see is the Mets are finally starting to hit and drive in some runs... That is why they made him into a reliever I would assume. So he could cut down to using his best 2-3 pitches to improve his control. Went and looked at his stats and being made into a reliever hasn't helped his WHIP. NAPOLI, NAPOLI is back:) 3-3 tie tonight. Hamels gave up two dingers one to Trumbo and one to Cruz. Good news is Iwakuma is out of the game going into 7th. I thought we supposedly traded for an ace not a 3rd or 4th starter?? Oh wait never mind... Lost to another team they shouldn't lose to, playing "down" to the opposition again. And now since Beltre's and Andrus ears have stopped burning so has their production, guess I need to remind them they suck and one of the reasons Napoli is back. I can see it now late in games Napoli will pinch hit for Andrus and Alberto will take his place defensively. Give it a couple of weeks. We got Hamels for 2016 and beyond.

Rangers put up a "snowman" in the top 11th. Pretty interesting strategy they used pitching in the bottom 10th. Smith gets a lead off two base error. Then Tolleson gets two strike outs then they intent walk both Cruz and Cano to load the bases. It worked as Tolly struck out the next batter. Why Nanny used Tolly in the bottom of the 11th with an 8 run lead and a pitch count nearing 50 is beyond me. They had two arms which could come in. With Monday being an off day it only effects today's game. I noticed he's been riding Dyson and Diekman like old pack mules, don't want to wear them out and put the pen back into useless shape. Also noticed Gimemez stole 2 bases the other day, didn't know he was that fast of a base runner. Guess you don't get to notice things like that if you don't get to watch the whole game, only bits and pieces. Looks like Houston's moves at the deadline aren't doing them much good right now, Rangers have picked up what 4 or 4.5 games in the last week or so. Rangers are only 3 games out of a playoff spot, only have to get over Baltimore, Angels and Yankees... :)

When is he ever going to get his head in the game?? He's hitting right now but giving it back in shoddy defense and bad base running. The next hangnail he gets they need to put him on the 15 day DL and bring Alberto up to play SS, maybe that will get the point across that he needs to get his head out or he's history. Especially if Alberto plays as well if not better than he did when he was called up earlier. And he's doing an outstanding job in AAA this year hitting .326 w/ a .469 slugging percentage.

I think they call that alignment they played "No doubles" (misnomer I would say). If Martin had been playing at normal depth he would have gotten to Posey's popup instead of it falling for "a double". That would have been the 3rd out and left the score 7-5 Texas. Another dumb mistake by the coaching staff!!

From what I've seen he uses his "heeter" to go right after the batter, used 21 pitches to get 6 outs. Hell most everybody else in the pen would use 21 pitches to get 1-2 batters out...
