RICHLAND, Wash. (CBS Seattle) Richland schools are phasing out swings on the playground citing that they have caused most injuries of any play equipment. As schools get modernized or renovated or as were doing work on the playground equipment, well take out the swings. Its just really a safety issue, swings have been determined to be the most unsafe of all the playground equipment on a playground, Richland School Districts Steve Aagard told KEPR.
The district also cited that pressure from insurance companies over the liability is part of the issue. Some of the swings have already been removed from some campuses and the rest will be phased out.
One parent shared that their daughter will begin school next year and shes happy with the decision to remove the swings.
When she starts elementary school, those swings can get crazy, Muge Kaineoz told KEPR. I actually witnessed an accident with my own eyes one time.
Kaineoz explained that she saw a toddler walk right in front of a swing.
By the time you could do something about it she was knocked out, Kaineoz said.
Another parent thinks swings are a regular part of being a child.
They were our great joy and we all played on them, I truly cant remember anyone being hurt, Richland resident Gail Thorricellas told KEPR.
Its not clear if swings will be removed from city parts, but the swings have already been removed from elementary schools.

Some stupid piece of shit liberal again. Maybe I should support abortion. If they could only discover the birth defect that causes one to be a piece of shit (in other words a liberal).
