Fugitive online spying whistleblower Edward Snowden has documents to leave Moscow airport, where he has been stranded for a month, Russia media reports. The Interfax news agency said Snowden could leave the airport in the next hours. His documents from Russias migration service verify that his application for asylum is under consideration and give him the right to enter the country as along as border guards dont object, the RIA Novosti news agency reported on Wednesday.
Snowden has been holed up in the no-mans-land of the airport transit lounge for a month since he fled there from Hong Kong. Hes on the run from U.S. authorities who want to prosecute him for leaking secrets of National Security Agency online surveillance of citizens.
