Liz Cheney has been making the rounds at Wyoming political events this spring and her desire to move back to the state has Republicans from Cheyenne to Washington buzzing about a potential future campaign.

With little fanfare, Cheney, a former State Department official and the eldest daughter of the former vice president, has spoken at six events in different corners of the sprawling state this year. She has been especially busy on the GOP dinner circuit. Cheney has already hit four county Lincoln Day Dinners and keynoted the dinner following the Wyoming GOP convention last month. She also accompanied and appeared on stage with her father when he made his first public appearance following his heart transplant at the state convention.

Cheney is currently a McLean, Va., resident and there has long been speculation among Republicans that she would eventually run for office there. But Cheney, a mother of five, is seeing her oldest child off to college this year and, along with her husband Philip, has long considered returning to the state that her father represented in the House. They hope to buy a house in Jackson Hole, where her parents also have a residence, but the move is not a sure thing.

Still, Cheney’s schedule and some of her rhetoric suggests someone who is eyeing an eventual campaign.

“Let me tell you why Wyoming’s style of politics is so important,” Cheney said last month at the Park County Republican Lincoln Day Dinner, according to the Cody Enterprise. “There is a personal touch here that gets amazing people into office.”

Talking to local radio station KGOS-KERM after speaking to Republicans at the Goshen County Lincoln-Reagan dinner, on the opposite end of the state from Cody, Cheney explained that her father was most proud of his days representing Wyoming.

“He has said to me that there is no title that he felt prouder of professionally than when he was called ‘The Gentleman from Wyoming,’” Cheney said, adding that her dad was also honored to serve as defense secretary and vice president.

Sounding every bit the aspiring politician, Cheney has demurred when asked about her ambitions.

“Right now, I’m focused on the presidential campaign and getting Mitt Romney elected,” she told the Cody paper.

Cheney declined to be interviewed by POLITICO.

But Wyoming politicos say local friends of Cheney are encouraging her to look at a run and helping her garner local press coverage by notifying Wyoming media outlets about her attendance at events. Few think she would be making stops in every corner of the state if she weren’t at least mulling a future run.

“She’s running up a lot of asphalt,” said Shawn Whitman, a Laramie native and former chief of staff for two Wyoming senators, of Cheney’s schedule. “This is planting seeds of thought in people’s minds. There’s nobody I know that goes to those events unless they have a position in the party or they’re trying to run for office.”

Friends of Cheney emphasize that she has no set plan to run and that she and her husband, an attorney, still need to reconcile issues related to their jobs and their children’s education before they can even move.

None in Cheney’s circle wanted to speak on the record, but her ambitions for public office have been more openly discussed of late as she treks back to Wyoming.

“She’s putting herself in a position now so she can eventually do it,” said one fellow Washington Republican.

Interesting comment for one who claims to be pro-life.

She's bright, articulate, tough minded like her father, and easy on the eye. There is a future for her in politics if she chooses it.

I bet she was fucking one or more of the following....;}

Central banks with the MIC are controlling the show right now. They're the current cash cow to feed off of Zionism. The Defense department is a corporation, one that was missing trillions of dollars and admitted this the day before 911. The secretary for Policy (Richard Perle, Trireme inc, Hollinger, Boeing) The Army Secretary (Thomas White Enron) The Navy Secretary (Gordon England General Dynamics) The Air force secretary (James Roche Northrop Grumman) all acted in their own personal interests. The Office of Special Plans' Douglas Feith and Paul Wolfowitz were also Northrop Grumman employees. To better understand how the MIC works See this The USSA a quick look at how the US kills for commercial interests and does not practice the free market principles it pretends to profess. two places at once like Mohamed Atta who was also spotted on9the now convicted Zionist lobbyist) Jack Abramoff's casino ships. The hijackers just so happen to live next door to an uncovered Israeli spy ring.

Funny how few true "conservatives" ever get elected to office considering how many who profess to be such isn't it?

You'd think they'd be easier to find than hen's teeth or unicorns.

Yeah, I don't find that funny at all.

Do you consider Liz Cheney a conservative?

No..I consider the term "conservative" fungible.

"I'm anti baby killer."

No you are not. You would be against aid to countries with a high infant mortality rate to bring it diwn to what it is in countries with good medical care and infant nutrition because it would cost taxpayers in the county giving aid funds to keep children alive.

You are fixated on fetus protection because you are in live with the anti-abortion cause because of the political power the cause has grown to generate over the past few decades.

lack of good medical care, pre and post natal nutrition that is neglected kills babies. But you don't care unless the situation involved an abortion provider. And you don't care if that provider is prosecuted or punished through a legal system. A lynch mob to do this is just peachy to you.

"I'm not pro life for murderers."

I don't like her either, not would I support her campaign. But there is no evidence she has committed murder. The sort of harm her old man has done is his crimes and committed on his watch.

What you are saying is that you believe the child should be punished for the crimes of their parent.

Some cultures and systems have that view of things, but that is not part of our culture or legal system.

I would want to see anyone murdering someone like Cheney or G.W. Bush be adjudicated for and punished for murder. Because I support law and order, not lynch mob justice.

I don't want to see her hold office, but she has every legal right to run for office.

Considering that words have meanings, that's a very strange position to take.

I abhor those 'shades of gray', 'definition of is' types of thought.

The term is fungible because those choosing to self identify as "conservative" cannot agree on a meaning.

Go ahead and tell me what it means to you..I'm quite sure others here will disagree.

It's not a term, it's a word and words have meanings.

I could choose to self identify as Aunt Betty but putting on her wig and lipstick wouldn't make me Aunt Betty.

The meaning of a word doesn't change because some can't agree on a meaning. Conservative means conservative. I suppose, in the leftist, wiki 'newspeak' of the day, a conservative is now called a paleoconservative or other names. However, that doesn't change the meaning of conservative. One is either a conservative, or varying degrees to the left of conservative, depending on how many leftist ideologies one has adopted.

The definition of the word 'right' doesn't change because some can't remember which is left and which is right.

Go ahead and tell me what it means to you..I'm quite sure others here will disagree.

Here's a start.
