WASHINGTON – The author of a soon-to-be-released book on Christian apologetics, “The Magic Man in the Sky: Effectively Defending the Christian Faith,” is questioning the motives behind the termination of the immensely popular PPSimmons Ministry account on YouTube.

Where once one of the more popular God and Country YouTube Channels – with more than 23,000 subscribers, 530-plus videos and 21 million views – could be accessed, now a barren page is found, save for a message. The message reads: “This account has been terminated due to repeated or severe violations of our Community Guidelines and/or claims of copyright infringement.”

For Pastor Carl Gallups, one of the people behind the popular PPSimmons YouTube Ministry, seeing a channel disabled he has worked tirelessly to build and promote since 2009 was devastating.

“It was as if you have a thriving business and you came to work one day and the building was burnt down and everything you had created was gone. Instantly,” he told WND.

Gallups, whose “The Magic Man in the Sky: Effectively Defending the Christian Faith,” will be released May 15, was one of the original founders of the PPSimmons Ministry on YouTube.

Through his involvement with producing and recording more than 530 videos, Gallups was once named “Worst People in the World” by Keith Olbermann on his now-defunct MSNBC show. Videos from the PPSimmons YouTube channel were featured on CNN, “The Rachel Maddow Show” and Fox News.

The PPSimmons site was known for producing videos on biblical commentary, startling biblical revelations and, perhaps most controversially, political revelations concerning Barack Obama and his birth certificate.

The PPSimmons Ministry Channel was in excellent standing with YouTube before it was pulled last week, according to Gallups.

Of more than 530 videos released over a three-year time span, with a number of them having more than a million views, only three had come to the attention of YouTube and been “flagged” for potentially inappropriate content.

“When we first got started in 2009, we did a video on abortion that was flagged by YouTube for being too graphic,” said Gallups.

Immediately, he said, the video was pulled and PPSimmons was placed on probation for a period of time before it was completely restored to a “Good Standing” rating with YouTube.

“Since then, we haven’t had any problems with YouTube and have been grateful for having a platform to grow our ministry to the point that it became viral sensation that touched the lives of tens of thousands of people,” said Gallups.

It was only three weeks ago that PPSimmons came to the attention of YouTube again, with the posting of George Zimmerman’s 911 call.

“The media wasn’t doing their job in covering the Trayvon Martin-George Zimmerman affair,” said Gallups, who before becoming a minister spent 10 years in law enforcement. “Truth has since vindicated Zimmerman after the initial media onslaught.”

The recording was in the headlines because NBC famously quote Zimmerman saying, “This guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black.”

But NBC had edited out critical parts of the conversation. In reality, Zimmerman said, “This guy looks like he’s up to no good. Or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.”

The operator then asked: “OK, and this guy – is he black, white or Hispanic?

Zimmerman said, “He looks black.”

Gallups explained that the posting was the complete four-minute version of the call.

“That same video is all over YouTube, but they flagged the video,” he said. “We appealed the decision, and in a few days YouTube responded and admitted that they were wrong, and the video was restored, and so was our Good Standing status.”

The temporary victory was short-lived, as Gallups tried to log on to the PPSimmons account a few days later only to find the “terminated” notice.

“Though YouTube restored the Zimmerman 911 call video, we received notice that the channel was terminated because another video was flagged, and we had received too many warnings to continue to allow our channel to operate,” he said.

The video that YouTube flagged and used to closed down the PPSimmons channel was titled “A Call to Prayer” and remains on Gallups’ site.

“It was a simple video, in my voice, urging our subscribers to pray for YouTube users who were asking for our prayers and because of spiritual battles that they were experiencing in their life,” said Gallups.

It calls for prayer for those who are caught in the “demonic grip” of homosexuality, masturbation and pot smoking, “and they don’t even know it.”

It explains drug and sexual addictions are “not the way of a true believer.”

“We are not here to help people feel good about their sins,” the video explains.

Gallups said one can see videos on YouTube that attack Christianity, demonize and bully proponents of traditional marriage and call Muslims to prayer, “but to make a video calling for Christians to pray is ostensibly grounds for having your channel terminated.”

“To make matters worse, the termination of the YouTube channel occurred two weeks prior to the release of my book, ‘The Magic Man in the Sky,’ and at the same time I was doing interviews across the nation on talk radio concerning the Sheriff Joe Arpaio investigation into President Obama’s birth certificate ordeal,” said Gallups.

“This is unfairly impugning the character of anyone who is involved with PPSimmons and, worse, we have no chance to appeal this decision nor any reason to suspect why it was pulled,” said Gallups.

WND sent an email request for comment to YouTube but got no response.

In the meantime, Gallups has started the Carl Gallups YouTube Channel and is uploading many of the videos that were featured on the terminated PPSimmons channel.

“If this channel gets terminated, we’ll have a better idea of why,” said Gallups.

Peak Civilization: MIT Research Team Predicts Global Economic Collapse and Precipitous Population Decline

Researchers at one of the world’s leading think tanks have
developed a computing model that predicts serious implications for our
way of life as a result of our incessant need to consume resources like
oil, food, and fresh water. According to a team of scientists at
the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the breaking point will come
no later than 2030, and when it does, we can expect a paradigm shift
unlike any we have seen before in human history – one that will not only
collapse the economies of the world, but will cause food and energy
production to decrease so significantly that it will lead to the deaths
of hundreds of millions of people in the process.

The recent study, completed on behalf of The Club of Rome,
an organization which issued it’s own findings on ‘peak everything’
back in the 1970′s in a controversial environmental report dubbed The Limits to Growth (video),
takes into account the relations between various global developments
and produces computer simulations for alternative scenarios.
Recent research supports the conclusions of a controversial
environmental study released 40 years ago: The world is on track for
disaster. So says Australian physicist Graham Turner, who revisited
perhaps the most groundbreaking academic work of the 1970s, The Limits to Growth.
Written by MIT researchers for an international think tank, the Club of Rome, the
study used computers to model several possible future scenarios. The
business-as-usual scenario estimated that if human beings continued to
consume more than nature was capable of providing, global economic
collapse and precipitous population decline could occur by 2030.
Turner compared real-world data from 1970 to 2000 with the
business-as-usual scenario. He found the predictions nearly matched the
facts. “There is a very clear warning bell being rung here,” he says.
“We are not on a sustainable trajectory.”
There is no doubt that the study carries with it its own agenda, as the Club of Rome includes members of the upper echelons of government and business
from around the world. Many have suspected that the organization exists
as a mechanism to move forward with environmental, and thus social,
governance of the world’s resources and population through U.N. initiatives like Agenda 21 and
the carbon credit system of taxation, both of which do nothing but
shift the wealth of the world into the hands of the elite few at the top
of the literal food chain.
But, despite the ulterior motives of those involved in The Club of
Rome, they’re not the only ones who have warned of catastrophe stemming
from high population levels and unsustainable consumption. In the
History Channel’s Prophets Of Doom, Collapsenet’s Michael Ruppert warned
of a similar scenario and one which suggests that, while oil may still
be available in the future, the costs will be so prohibitive that it
will be impossible for human civilization to maintain its current levels
of consumption. According to Ruppert, the last great bubble to pop will be the human population bubble.
Other resource issues that have come to light in recent years include
the availability of fresh water, as well as the productive capacity of
our current agricultural system. Since all of our natural resources are
interdependent, a break down in one, like for example the globe’s oil
production system, would make it impossible for farmers to grow food, or
for trucks to transport it. The same holds true for fresh water, which
is essential not only to human life, but for oil exploration, refining
operations, food production and a host of other industries essential to
human civilization.
By all accounts, we have developed a system of consumption that truly
is unsustainable in the long-term. While the Club of Rome and similar
organizations purport to act in the best interests of humanity, nearly
fifty years of solutions have yielded nothing but more problems and have
brought us ever closer to the ultimate breaking point, one which
promises to wipe out potentially billions of people in its wake.
An additional consideration which the MIT research study may have touched on but does not look to
as a direct potential cause for global calamity is the breakdown of
society as a result of unsustainable political, financial, and monetary
machinations
– something which benevolent members of organizations like The Club of Rome may have been complicit in creating.
There is a strong case to be made that the issuance of trillions of
dollars in debt over the course of the last several decades, much like
oil, will become impossible to sustain. Since the entire system of
consumption is essentially based on this debt, if confidence in this
system is lost, it may very well have the same initial effect as a peak
oil breaking point. Debt, even when fabricated out of thin air, is
essentially a promise tied to some sort of resource. It is based on the
idea that something will eventually be created by someone in order to
make good on the debt. By all accounts, we the people are the collateral for all of this debt floating our in the system. But, it has gotten to the point that the debt – somewhere in the range of $200 trillion in the United States alone – far outweighs our ability to harness enough time and energy to repay the principal with interest.
Thus, this ‘peak debt’ created to save us from
the unsustainable resource practices we face should be just as big of a
concern as peak oil or water. Because when we finally reach the limit of
our debt, and it becomes clear that the collateral backing that debt is
unable to produce enough yield to pay it back, we’ll have a whole new
meaning for the term ‘collateral damage.’
With seven billion people on the planet, the system as it is
currently managed can’t possibility continue to support the daily needs
of the world’s population indefinitely. The solutions that have been
presented over the course of the last half century fall far short of
providing any meaningful results, despite the treasure spent and liberty
stripped.
Slowly but surely we are approaching Peak Civilization, and when that
bubble pops we’ll see the ‘crash’ manifest in the form of famine,
disease and global conflict.

Utter nonsense.

Luddites have been predicting this since at least Robert Malthus over 200 years ago.

Paul Ehrlich was another Malthusian nincompoop who entered into a wager in 1980 with Julian Simon about growing resource scarcity. He lost his ass.

What all of these nincompoops didn't understand is how new technology can and does change the equation in unpredictable ways.

Why do you call research at a leading college like MIT 'nonsense'?

Because it's based on a fallacy that has been proven wrong throughout history.

People used whale oil to light lamps. As society grew, we wound up with a whale oil shortage. Did civilization collapse? No. In the 1840s a smart guy figured out how to turn coal into a liquid (that he called Kerosene) that made a great replacement for whale oil.

This what all chicken little economists don't understand -- smart people can and do invent new technologies that completely disrupt the old order of things in ways that cannot be predicted.

Over the last 30 years, we have been in one of the most technologically disruptive eras in human history.

The telephone monopoly, phone booths, typewriters, type setting, film, film cameras, film projectors, video tape, records, record players, cassettes, tape decks, CDs (soon), and much, much more have pretty much all been disrupted into oblivion.

Bank tellers, travel agents, first class mail, newspapers, and much, much more are on the way out next.

When I graduated from high school in 1977, who could have predicted that in 2012 people (including teenagers) would carry around a small device in their pockets that is a combination: phone, photo album, music player, video player, still camera, video camera, map, email device, instant messenger, internet browser, game player, language translator, payment system (soon), and more???

No one could have predicted this. Some of these individual things didn't even exist in 1977. Now they are all sitting on one small device called a smart phone.

No one can predict that resource shortages will collapse society 20 years from now either.

We'll just invent new resources, like we with with kerosene and gasoline.

Yea Riiiiiight

Your latest post has nothing whatsoever to do with the thread.

If you weren't some low life loser, I'd gladly make you a substantial bet that civilization is not going to collapse by 2030 because of resource shortages.

I'd draw up a contract, and we'd both put the money in escrow and wait.

But you don't have enough money to make it worth my while.

Here is what you posted:

I demonstrated why this conclusion is based on an age old fallacy, that has been proven wrong time and time again.

Then you changed the subject and started talking about unemployment, which is caused by rotten government policies, not resource shortages.

Now you are swearing at me.

Apple Has Destroyed 490,000 American Jobs

Apple has created millions of American jobs.

One of the first iPhone apps ever written was by some kid in high school. This high school kid made $50,000 overnight.

Many people at Apple or associated with Apple have made millions.

This is even more true of people who were at Microsoft or built businesses around Microsoft.

Microsoft itself created 10,000 millionaires. I was one them.

That doesn't even begin to tell the story.

The number of people who have built businesses providing software, consulting, training or systems integration on the Microsoft platform is incalculable.

I'm still making money from my relationship with Microsoft in my consulting business.

The societal progress that Apple and Microsoft created is what America is all about.

Obama Is America's Biggest Job Outsourcer

IBD Editorials ^ | May 2, 2012

Posted on Wednesday, May 02, 2012 9:24:53 PM by Kaslin

Jobs: The same president who used stimulus dollars to build electric cars in Finland and sought to be Brazil's best oil customer now complains the GOP nominee built his career outsourcing jobs. At least he created some.

President Obama's re-election campaign released an ad Tuesday saying Mitt Romney "shipped American jobs to places like Mexico and China" when he led the investment firm Bain Capital.

The $780,000 ad buy in the key swing states of Ohio, Iowa and Virginia was in response to an ad by the free-market group Americans for Prosperity (AFP) noting the administration's penchant for wasting taxpayer money in support of green energy companies, particularly those overseas or with foreign owners.

Among other things, AFP noted, the Obama administration approved a plan by electric car company Fisker to use part of its $529 million federal stimulus loan guarantee to build its manufacturing facility, and the 500 jobs it supports, in Finland.

Now comes Obama's counterattack — an odd charge since he seeks to block the Keystone XL pipeline from Canada that would create 20,000 jobs fast and hundreds of thousands of jobs in an economic ripple effect.

This is also an administration that applauded the U.S. Export-Import Bank's plan to loan Brazil's state-run Petrobras $2 billion, with the promise of more to follow, at a time when Obama was railing against tax incentives for U.S. oil companies and still is.

With an offshore drilling ban in effect off both coasts, Alaska's continental shelf, ANWR and much of the Gulf of Mexico, with a de facto moratorium covering the rest, Obama told the Brazilians: "We want to help you with the technology and support to develop these oil reserves safely, and when you're ready to start selling, we want to be one of your best customers."
